Yes, I'm still talking about it. What a great event! I just can't repeat myself, there's just something about trail running... what more ultra trail running. It's just different. I've done a lot of recreational road running of various distances, and just started to pickup trail running a few years ago. There's this personal experience about it. I signed up to run, because I like trail running, I do not have any time to finish in mind. I've signed up to volunteer, I've not volunteered for UTA before, I don't know what to expect. Signed up for three roles at checkin in the afternoon after my run, enough time to freshen up. 2nd at the finish line and I just picked a random time which is convenient and possible with my personal time and was at a checkpoint at QVH, but cancelled that. I have always been a @lucy_bartholomew fan and was looking forward to her talk session that weekend, but I knew I was going to miss it as I will be at the check-in tables. Not knowing she would be checking in on the very table I was looking after. So friendly and down to earth. And then the following day, I just realised, I'll be seeing the 100km finishers and top runners. So good to see the top 3 women @bethgmckenzie , @lucy_bartholomew and @steph_auston cross the finish line. And the men too. My run- how I love the pleasantries and politeness and encouragement you hear from other participants. It's a different running culture compared to road running. The camaraderie along the course, looking out for each other when someone looks distressed. The reason why I like trail running. The views I come across, during the race, during training. Never boring. The challenge and difficulty, on it not just being a hill, it's a hill! The experience in volunteering, participants thank you with what you're doing. They've done whatever distance they've run, you would feel and hear a sincere acknowledgement from them. A global event, where your families and friends cross and finish the line and celebrate the accomplishment. The tears and smiles and relief you hear when they finish, as if you feel their accomplishments but quite not. Just watching the emotions at the finish.

The last 75 days I followed a program called 75 day hard by @andyfrisella this is my third time completing the program. It's a lifestyle. 75/75 day hard completed - 75 gallons of water (or more because I train a lot) - Books 1. Ryan Holiday(discipline is destiny) 2. Ryan Holiday(courage is calling) 3. David Goggins (Can't hurt me) 4. The power of habit (Charles Duhigg) - Two workouts per day(one has to be outside) This time I focused more on weightlifting and less running, I did get a nice tan again from working outside 😎 - Diet I followed a clean diet that would benefit more muscle growth(high protein), also added more carbs. I made modifications to food menu items that would fit my macros when I would go out to eat with friends and family. Thank you @loucideatz Who did my meal preps. - 75 progress pictures I encourage everyone. If you feel depressed, tired, or unmotivated. Habits matter. Make a change and do it even if you don't feel like it. I hope to motivate at least one person. Self-regulation can be hairy. It can be difficult when so much of our hardwiring is set to react in destructive ways. Out of anger, fear, or avoidance, sometimes we can’t regulate a response that’s level-headed. When we can have a balanced regulatory system for dealing with challenges, we can respond to issues in ways that are productive and help enable us to be more thoughtful and high-yielding in our actions. Just cause Im traveling doesn’t mean Im going to miss one of the best workouts of the year. Every year my gym has the honor of participating in the “Murph” challenge. Typically done on Memorial Day. I just had to do it a bit earlier this year. Fortunately had my partner in crime “Big Weight Nate” to wingman me. Not gonna lie, we crushed it. I’ll definitely be sore for days. It really is a great opportunity to pay tribute to all of those heroes who lost their lives serving our country over the years. “Murph” honors the life of Lieutenant Michael Murphy from Patchogue, NY, who died serving in Afghanistan in 2005. The Murph workout is done for time and consists of: A one-mile run 100 pull-ups 200 push-ups 300 squats Another one-mile run The Murph workout is performed while wearing a 20lbs (~9kg) weighted vest or body armor… #murph #murphchallenge #kravmagaworldwide #mentaltoughness #usa #miltiary #memorialday #heroes
