Hormetische Reize ⚡️ In der heutigen Gesellschaft, wo wir oft unter chronischem Stress leiden, ist eine geniale Strategie, diesem entgegenzuwirken, sich hormetischen Reizen auszusetzen. Das heisst, dass wir bewusst akuten Stress kreieren, welcher unser Körper selbständig wieder regulieren kann. Dazu gehören Reize wie zum Beispiel Kälte, Hitze, Hunger, Durst, Sport und Atemtechniken. I never know what to say when someone (a waiter, a cashier, a receptionist, etc) wishes me a happy Mother’s Day. People make so many assumptions about women, one of which is assuming all women over a certain age are mothers. 😅 Let’s just say my response depends on my mood. If I’m feeling spicy, I might say I’m 48 and no longer have a uterus, so those days have passed 😬 but most of the time I just say “thanks” and move on… Not having children has allowed me so many gifts in my life that I’m grateful for. My business. Room in my heart and my home for my 8 fur babies. Being able to go back to school… TWICE (I just started my doctorate program). But perhaps the thing I’m most grateful for of all is silence and 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. 😅 I’m kinda joking, but know that it will all work out. And if it doesn’t work out the way you think you want… it will all be okay, and maybe even more than okay. ❤️ We are not defined by our ability or decision to reproduce … despite what certain politicians would like you to believe. 🤗 Wishing you a peaceful day today, no matter how you spend it. ❤️

Should you change up your nighttime routine the night before a big, important test? Yes! Definitely! Well, maybe. If you’re someone who has an established routine or system that really works for you, then no. You probably don’t need to alter your routine before a big test. But if you’re like most of us, you might need to change it up a little bit to make sure you’re performing your best on test day. . But keep in mind that humans are not a “one size fits all” species - what works for some of us won’t work for all of us. I, for example, always studied best at 4 AM, which is weird because I’m SOOO not a morning person, but oddly that’s when I retain information the best. Who woulda thunk it. . Experiment. Auf einem Bein zu stehen kann für eine Weile ganz bequem sein. Sich auszubalancieren, so dass es gut machbar ist. Den Körper so ausloten, dass Stabilität auch in dieser Position entspannt möglich ist. Bis es schließlich zur Komfortzone wird. Und sich das anfühlt, als sei es gar nicht mehr nötig, auf beiden Beinen zu stehen. Doch irgendwann merkst du, dass dir irgendetwas fehlt. Das Gefühl der Balance, der Symmetrie für den gesamten Körper. Als hättest du einen Teil von dir abgespalten, der jedoch Teil deines Körpers ist. Und wenn du dich dann ein bisschen rüber traust, die Zeit reif ist, auch wieder auf dem anderen Beim stehen zu wollen und du in Bewegung kommst, ist es erstmal ganz schön ungewohnt, in Erwägung zu ziehen, tatsächlich wieder auf zwei Beinen zu stehen. Das Signal Körper an Kopf: It‘s safe. Balance in der Mitte ist wieder sicher, weil Du inzwischen ein anderer Mensch geworden bist. Eine andere Version deiner selbst. Eine, die Abgrenzung einfach ausstrahlt, wo nötig, Fülle anzieht und empfängt, was (rein-) kommen darf. Spüre dich und was es mit dir macht. Alles Liebe 💚 Veronika

This is my lovely mum. Sadly she died last month after a short illness. She reached the ripe old age of 94. On Friday we had her funeral and said our last goodbyes. Even tho I know she’s gone, she’s not really gone. She’s in my heart, my mind and in the way I look at life (she was such a positive person). At her funeral I described her as kind, smiley and resilient. She was those and so much more. My new reality without her is raw. I have so much gratitude and love for her as a mum and a human being. She grew up in the Second World War and knows a thing or two about the reality of warfare and its impact on ordinary people. She couldn’t abide leaders who used violence and hid behind bombs. Mum believed in people, in being kind, saying thank you for even the smallest thing and not complaining even tho she worried about everything. Grief is an unpredictable lifestate. One minute I’m laughing, the next in floods of tears. Sometimes I forget she’s not here and remembering hurts all over again. She made me promise to live my life to the full and do everything I wanted. And to be as well as I could. She was so proud of my work, for my ‘simple foods’ as she called them and enjoyed eating any cake I made 🤣 I’m taking time to care for myself as I know stress makes my MS worse. But I’ll be back posting again soon.
