Before vs. After. Then vs. Now. Coping vs. Thriving. My capacity to sit with my own discomfort has increased dramatically over the past several years. Discomfort is given. It comes with this thing called life. In my case, it always seems to come like a wave. And like a wave, the discomfort can be big or small. Quiet or roaring. It's what I do with those waves that keep surprising me. Things can change. We can all change. I owe it to the burnout which made me finally realise that I could not do it on my own. I could not get out of the exhaustion and dark hole I had found myself in by simply hoping it would somehow, again, be over and I'd be back on my feet without looking back and asking some questions about what had happened. I had to learn to relate to everything differently. To my circumstances, to the stressors, and above all - to myself. This would become the foundation of the work I'd been doing since not just with myself but with others too The effortless and almost casual suggestion to sort out the accompanying insomnia with the help of the medications, without being given any alternative, had set the final alarm bells off in my head. "Had it come that far?" I remember myself thinking. "How on Earth did this happen?" I did not know much at the time, but I knew that medication was not an option. I also knew that what I was about to do to reset myself and my life had to be multilayered, thorough - and I had to find ways to open up and godeep. I knew it would take time. And time I had. I still do. I will as long as I live have time for my own growth. Sitting with my own discomfort had become a precious measure of what has changed and what needs to be worked on next. There are always questions, seemingly more and more - some with, some without answers. It does not matter that much. What matters most of all is - how can I stay true to myself through it all? . . .

Acceptance ≠ defeat. Make healing easier for yourself. 🌿✨ Sometimes, accepting where we are is the key to moving forward. When we resist our current state, we're fighting against our own bodies, increasing stress and keeping ourselves sick and tired. I recently had a client struggling with high blood pressure and thyroid complications. She felt nauseous, had all the symptoms of an unbalanced thyroid, and her mind was always racing. “What supplements do I need?” ”Why do I feel like this?” ”I'm so over this.” ”I don't want to feel like this anymore.” ”I've done all the right things.” ”I'm taking all my supplements.” This mental battle made her symptoms worse, leaving her in a continuous state of war with her own body. I often see this with women who’ve gained weight. They try every diet and exercise routine, but without acceptance of their current state, they remain stuck. They fear acceptance will worsen their situation, but the opposite is true. Once my client shifted her perspective, moved from fight-or-flight to acceptance, her symptoms began to subside within 2 hours. It was a huge aha moment for her. Resistance triggers a stress response, altering our biochemistry and perpetuating discomfort and imbalance. Acceptance, however, releases relaxing, healing hormones. Te explicamos fácil: A Síndrome de Burnout, também conhecida como síndrome do esgotamento profissional, vai além do cansaço pós-trabalho. É uma condição grave, decorrente do estresse crônico no ambiente laboral, que pode levar à exaustão física e emocional. Os sinais incluem falta de energia, desânimo, irritabilidade e alterações de sono, dentre outros. Como doença ocupacional, o Burnout faz jus à concessão do benefício na modalidade “acidentária”, com vantagens como dispensa de carência e estabilidade no emprego por 12 meses. Para comprovar a Síndrome no INSS, um laudo médico é essencial, detalhando o diagnóstico e suas implicações no trabalho. I remember working as a senior product manager when my org was on our 3rd layoff in a year. I made it through the third layoff, but I was stressed, anxious, and overworked at that point. Dit is simpelweg niet nodig, het is geen therapie met massage bijvoorbeeld. Er zijn vast therapeuten die dat combineren, maar ik niet. Veel (inclusief ik) vinden dit daarom ook extra laagdrempelig. 🤗⁣ ⁣ • Bij NEI is 𝐠𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚's nodig. Bij de emoties die omhoog komen, gaan we er niet persé nog uitgebreid op in. Soms vindt een cliënt het fijn om extra uitleg te geven, maar dit is echt niet persé nodig.⁣ ⁣ • En zo kom ik ook meteen bij dit puntje: NEI therapie zijn 𝐠𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐬! 😁 Je hoeft de emoties die omhoog komen met het testen, niet helemaal uit te leggen als je dat niet wilt. Voor het loskoppelen vd emoties van jouw cellen is dat niet nodig.
