Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is a condition in which the muscles, ligaments and tissues that support your pelvic organs become too weak to hold your organs in place. Here are a few types different prolapse. Cystocele- wall between the bladder and the vagina weakens, the bladder may drop or sag into the vagina. Rectocele- wall of tissue between a woman’s rectum and vaginal wall weakens. Without the support of these pelvic floor muscles and ligaments, the front wall of the rectum sags and bulges into the vagina Uterine prolapse- the uterus drop down into your vagina. If you are experiencing any POP symptoms, see your Urologist or Gynecologist for an Evaluation. Depending on the severity of the prolapse, pelvic floor PT may be helpful. This weeks training dump 💥 Nothing special this week just ticking over! Very lean at the moment (for me) sitting at 116Kg strength is still relatively there! Still struggling with loading my shoulder for squats etc so taking it all back to basics and chucked in my favourite bar the @kabuki.power transformer bar on the front squat setting ofcourse beltless 😈💪🏼 Seen as I’m not in for MRI until the 20th seems might as well start benching! 🌬️Grace is the face that love wears when it meets imperfection.🌬️ . I’ve completely changed my style of training to be less about bodybuilding and looking swole to being more about functionality, having strength and doing things with grace and power. I’ve taken up different styles of training that bring me pleasure and speak to my soul like dance, specifically belly-dancing and ballet, and yoga being two of those things for now. I’m extending grace with myself for becoming a beginner all over again and the hardships that come with trying something new. Strength Training has become more mainstream again with the growth of both male and female fitness influencers looking strong while moving some form of resistance. However, many people still don’t do it because they think they will look too bulky from lifting weights, or more commonly think it’s hard work so why bother when they could just go for a run! I would say still go for that run as it’s a fantastic form of exercise that gets you outdoors and will by default ‘strengthen’ your cardiac muscle! But for your next workout, grab those weights! Why? Because ignore your Musculoskeletal system at your peril! It plays a crucial role by giving us our form, but also Motor Control and general movement. Consistent strength training as we age will also help stave off: - Osteopenia (loss of bone density) - Sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass) Tori (pic) has lifted weights for years as she really enjoys it. However, she wanted some Personal Training so she could ‘get and feel stronger’. She is already doing some strength training in my classes, so I knew her technique was excellent - so how did I approach her programme design? 1. She completed my 20-minute ‘Body, Move, Work’ Assessment to gather some baseline data on body composition, movement (d)efficiencies and current strength levels. 2. Keeping that information as a priority I programmed the best exercises that would go with each of the 6 functional movement patterns for full bodied balanced strength. 3. Finally, I applied the most suitable loads, reps, sets, tempo, and rest periods to get her optimal results. The result is a progressive strength-based program specifically for her which she completes with me x2 a week including an upper and lower body focus day (with core and conditioning work on both days). As a busy working mum, she sometimes has that same excuse in her head about just going for that run, but she also knows that by including strength training into her exercise routine she will not only become stronger, but also feel stronger. She will also get a huge sense of accomplishment knowing she’s resisted resistance itself; pushing, pulling and squatting it out of her way! 💪🏋️‍♀️

Sometimes you need to stop and look at where you've been to know where you're going. It's hard sometimes to see progress when you see yourself everyday, so thankfully I have some stuff to look back on for reference and actually see that effort does pay off. I'm pretty sure I was at least 10lbs lighter in 2022, I'm now around 145lbs and maybe a bit under 140lbs in late 2023. Yet after my ankle injury in Nov 2023, I refocused and have been putting in the work over the last 3ish months since I was cleared to lift again. They are small changes but I can at least see them now, just gotta keep going. Thankfully we live in a time where information sharing is in great supply if you know what to trust vs influencer click bait. Also my progress and fine tuning is in no small thanks to a great number of people that have been there during this fitness journey. A clip from @thejustinwelsh newsletter that I read each Saturday. I’ve thought about this a lot in regard to strength & conditioning. It’s easy to want to try and sound smart when explaining complex topics. If your intent is to speak to other experts in the field and converse over these topics then that’s one thing. If the intent is to provide information that helps the average person apply the concepts and better themselves, it’s necessary we speak in a language that’s understood by all. I’ve always viewed a trait of true experts as being able to deeply understand a topic, but then communicate it simply and in a way that allows the athlete to apply it correctly in their training. Good coaches have to maintain a deep understanding of the methods they apply, but then communicate in a way that’s most effective for the athlete. This is something we keep at the front of our minds as we communicate daily with hundreds of athletes on our training teams of various training experience and goals. At the end of the day, it’s not about the coach. It’s about the athletes and their results. The results of your athletes speak more to your expertise than anything else. Got some thoughts on this?
