🌟 Throwback Thursday 🌟 So much has changed since my last cruise! 18 months ago I was smiling outwardly, but miserable inside. I should have been the happiest person in the world as we were heading off on what should have been the most incredible holiday with my amazing little family! But in reality, my mobility was down the toilet, the weight was piling back on yet again, no matter how healthily I ate, and my confidence was zilch! I also 'HATED' my appearance! And clearly I wasn't the only one, as shortly after boarding the ship, I encountered two 'tipsy' blokes who thought it would be fun to snigger and poke fun at my size under their breath...even though I could hear every word they were saying! I tried so hard to block it all out and enjoy myself, but a few days into the cruise, after hearing an 'euuurrrrghhh' from some random person as I attempted to enter the pool for the first time in 10 years, I decided enough was enough! Well, last weekend was BIG for me! It was my first time back on board since my sleeve...and my nerves were through the roof! But I needn't have worried...it was AMAZING! It’s taken me a while to wrap my brain around the fact that ZERO of my worth as a person depends on someone else’s acceptance, approval or attraction. I still forget it sometimes. When that clicks, though? Game changer. For the first time in 25 years I feel comfortable to sit out in the sunshine & not actually give a damn what anyone else thinks. It’s took a long time for me to reach this point, self acceptance it seems is a journey, and never a destination. For the majority of my late teenage years, twenties & thirties I attracted shit because I felt like shit. Self love and acceptance has taught me that I deserve good health & happiness. And I also deserve real love. The kind of love that accepts you as you are & wants to grow old with you. So thankful for everything this journey has given me & continues to give me every single day. I’m happy, healthy, in love and I’m able to enjoy all the good things in life comfortably. I went off my anxiety/OCD medicine a few months ago in anticipation of trying to get pregnant. Still not pregnant, and now feeling some of the result of being off the meds. The initial shock of being off of them was tough but only lasted for a week or so as it worked its way out of my system. Now, it manifests itself differently. There's a lot of playing and replaying of moments in my mind, thinking about how something could've should've would've been done differently or better or any type of detail. It's very hard to quiet the voice in the back of my head that fixates on things like this, and then I have a hard time falling asleep because I can't slow my brain down enough to rest. 💜May is #Lupus awareness month.💜 I was thinking how connected my illness & my weight loss surgery is connected. Having Lupus getting more immobile, gaining more weight and all my joints crying out for a reprieve. Now over 12 stone later, I'm in the park with my children swinging away. Not worried I won't fit, that the bars will dig in me or even worse it won't hold me. How much Lupus has changed & continues to change my life is immeasurable. Office Day Selfie and NSV - I bought these trousers a few weeks before starting Mounjaro so they've never been tight as such but I would only wear them with spanx. Today I'm wearing without spanx and feeling much more comfortable - both mentally AND physically! I could probably squeeze into the next size down but I'd rather stick with slightly too big trousers for now! They are baggy around the tummy - the bit sticking out on the side profile is baggy trousers more than my tummy! The trousers keep dropping down under the belt and I have to keep pulling them up! Om welke reden dan ook is het mogelijk dat mijn voorkeur voor jou TOTAAL niet werkt of haalbaar is. Wat is wél haalbaar voor je? Wat past wél in jouw leven?
