Ummm I am actually a bit blown away by these progress pics from the beginning and end of @laurensimpsonfitness Goal Getter challenge. I started late because I was in Japan so these were my results in 7 weeks (top photos all taken on 3 April, bottom ones all taken this morning). No real scale weight change here either! I have LOVED the workouts (I was doing the 5 day a week Build programme, split was 3 lower - one of which is all glutes - 2 upper) and focusing on a short term challenge with a specific schedule kept me really consistent with my workouts. The next challenge is called Elevate, it starts on Monday 27th and is also 8 weeks. What I want to do differently this time: ✅ Probably do the Express workouts so I’m in the gym a bit less and incorporating more cardio and yoga. ✅ Use the shopping list and meal plan features more! ✅ actually take WEEKLY progress pictures and measurements - I failed to take any measurements at all😅 Highly, highly recommend joining Elevate if you’re looking for some new programming or just a bit of a shake up of your routine, which I was definitely due for. Parce qu’il fallait que j’en parle un peu ici, la nuit européenne des musées ! C’était hier soir, et une bonne partie des musées en Europe étaient ouvert, gratuit pour la plupart. Certains demandaient une participation mais ce n’était pas notre cas. Durant cette soirée, les musées sont ouvert au public et proposent généralement des des compléments. Ce soir on proposait par exemple des visites flash, des lectures, une pièce itinérante par des élèves de quatrième … C’était la première fois que j’y participait en travaillant. J’avais déjà eu l’occasion de la faire, mais en tant que visiteuse. Autant vous dire que j’ai passé une soirée extraordinaire ! Il y avait des tas de gens de tous horizons, c’était super facile de parler avec eux, d’avoir aussi leur vision des choses. Ça fait du bien. Et ça m’a aussi conforté dans mon changement de profession. C’est pas un univers des plus facile mais punaise, je m’y sens tellement bien ! Puis j’ai aussi l’avantage d’être avec une super équipe ! ALERT: LIFE UPDATE AND LONG POST! So I’ve been off on a bit of a hiatus since my March challenge as the first half of April brought a lot of changes in my personal life and then I decided to make a major change in my diet to help me generally feel better (as well as lose some WLS regain). I am now following a ketogenic diet and so needed to give my body time to get fat adapted before I built up my activity again. A month in and I have lost 9lbs of my 23lbs WLS regain from my lowest weight after surgery. I no longer have brain fog (which has helped hugely at work!), my moods are better, my hunger is under control and my energy has returned meaning I can start building my activity back up. I started with a 2 mile run today (which almost killed me! 😅) and then an almost 3k walk with the pups. My aim going forward is to move my body for at least 30mins a day including a run 2x a week and weight lifting 3x a week and the rest walking. 🌟 Throwback Thursday 🌟 So much has changed since my last cruise! 18 months ago I was smiling outwardly, but miserable inside. I should have been the happiest person in the world as we were heading off on what should have been the most incredible holiday with my amazing little family! But in reality, my mobility was down the toilet, the weight was piling back on yet again, no matter how healthily I ate, and my confidence was zilch! I also 'HATED' my appearance! And clearly I wasn't the only one, as shortly after boarding the ship, I encountered two 'tipsy' blokes who thought it would be fun to snigger and poke fun at my size under their breath...even though I could hear every word they were saying! I tried so hard to block it all out and enjoy myself, but a few days into the cruise, after hearing an 'euuurrrrghhh' from some random person as I attempted to enter the pool for the first time in 10 years, I decided enough was enough! Well, last weekend was BIG for me! It was my first time back on board since my sleeve...and my nerves were through the roof! But I needn't have worried...it was AMAZING!
