I’m sure we ALL agree that sometimes we rely far too much on those pesky scales and their numbers! This week for me it was a goal I had on my bucket list for the past 11 years! I have always wanted to ride my horse to a small Ghost Town just outside of my hometown. People thought I was crazy for wanting to do it but the reason being is that this would not be something crazy but a goal that I have set for so many years to see how well I enjoy and my fitness level , This weekend I sat out with two other people and we rode 24km on horseback, approximately. I have a nice big bruise on my bottom from sitting in the saddle for so long and my knees were aching on the ride but I just dropped my feet out of the stirrups and let them swing for a bit. Losing weight wasn’t just for me but for my horse. Many years ago …someone sent me a nasty message anonymously …saying that they should report me to the Rspca for my cruelty of purely riding my horse after I had posted a photo….. This impacted me quite a lot and I did not ride as often as I wanted to …nor did I take any photos for …heaven above ….someone may abuse me again! Guess what? Not only did I ride out in public with a little bit of pride, but I let one of the other riders take a photo of me on my horse. ….it’s the little things. ⚠️TW: Mention of binging and an ED in paragraph two. It’s a freeing feeling knowing I can have all this food sitting in my pantry and it no longer controls me! During some of my worst binges I’d have to spray disinfectant on food and toss it in the bin so that I wouldn’t eat it because I have in the past ate food from the bin, something I’m not proud of.. But that is what can happen when you’re struggling with a crippling ED. Those were some very dark days for me, but I’m glad I’m now in full control! The kilo bag of lollies is for me to make cookies for my Dad (96 cookies), the Ferrero’s are for my Mum and mostly everything else is for my partner, except the black currant lollies I will literally fight him for! 😂 I’ll have little bits of this “sometimes food” as I know people like to call it and I’m okay with that. I eat everything in moderation because I believe life is just far too short not to.
