Well I completely had a crying breakdown in the @kathmandugear Pukekohe changing room today as I fit into a size small for the first time EVER!! HOW? Seriously HOW?? Wearing the small pants now as I got them and I am still in shock. So get this… I compose myself as I was ugly crying and red faced after taking 12s, 10s, M and S into the changing room and fit the smaller sizes! I come out and the incredible sales assistant asked “how did everything fit?” I proceed to breakdown crying again and she was so unbelievably wonderful gave me a hug and explained how she understood as she also has been through her own weight loss journey. Then.. THEN! She proceeds to use her own discount to give me 50% off all my purchases!!! So during my hospital stay, I was put in isolation. This was for many reasons but it was still awful. I wasn’t allowed out my box or anyone in (unless they were dressed in full PPE.) I was tested because I had my surgery aboard, l am a theatre nurse and may have had it or MRSA for years unknowingly and also because my antibiotics have not been working on my infection. In my job I totally get why they are doing this BUT as a patient I can see how patient get frustrated. I didn’t pack much before coming to A&E so I have the bare min and yes I forgot a hair brush. I can’t tell you how much I need a hair brush right now. I've seen a few different versions of this protein fluff recipe passing around and it's been my afternoon snack for the last few days, obsessively. Made it with white chocolate pudding, made it with chocolate fudge pudding, and today I had pistachio. 170 g fat-free Greek yogurt, 36 g Cool Whip, 7 g Sugar-free pudding powder. Mix it up good! I crumble up three or four of these cookie thins also to put them in there for an icebox cake type of texture. So thankful that I have finally been feeling like myself again and for the most part in good spirits. Obviously we have our shitty days but for the most part I’ve just been overall happy, which hasn’t been a thing for a long time. Would you do it all over again, bariatric surgery that is? Yes, yes I would! It's been about 6 or so years since I had surgery, the first picture was taken 12 years ago, at my highest weight. I'd do it again in a heartbeat! I started at about 350lbs and got down to ~174lbs. I lost about half my body weight. I sit currently at about 146lbs still lost. I'd do it again and again. One day at a time. One hour at a time. Give yourself grace. This recovery has been one of the hardest pain wise , but I know it will get better and I will have baby steps forward every day! I already am mind blown by the results and I an super swollen. Dr. Dry is so talented and cares! Good news is my drains are slowing even more and I will get one out Thursday at my appointment! After a rough 2 days I managed to taper my pain med from 2 hours to 3 hours. Small progress is still progress. Listen to your body! Getting way more fluids and protein in as well. Walking and resting! So thankful to be able to have this skin removal and have the very best as my surgeon @gavindrymd at @athenixbody .
