Do you struggle with that all or nothing mentality? ⚖️ Me too! Over this past week I’ve started trying to focus my energy in different ways. Previously my energy has gone into ✔️ making my good days 100% perfect ✔️ smashing out all my workouts and spending hours in the gym ✔️ hitting way over my step target when I have the motivation While these things are all well and good they often lead me to burn out very quickly and early on in my weight loss journey, which then makes me want to throw it all away as soon as motivation dips and/or my weight on the scale doesn’t move, or even worse goes up. Motivation is often a by product of our actions, which means that we need to start doing things to see small results in order for our motivation to rise. My energy over this past week has been refocused so now i’m working on 🎯 Getting 6,000 steps instead of 3,000 on days that’s I’m in the office 🎯 Eating 200 extra calories if I feel I need to instead of getting a takeaway pizza 🎯 turning up to the gym and doing a 20 minute workout or a home workout instead of not doing anything at all My focus isn’t on making my good days perfect but making my bad days mediocre. #weightloss #weightlossjourney #weightlosstips #weightlossmotivation #fatloss #fatlossjourney #fatlosstips #fatlosshelp #wednesdaywisdom #motivationquotes

Holiday time means indulging in some seriously good food, but when in a weight loss phase it can be hard to fully enjoy eating and drinking what you want on holiday without feeling ‘guilty’ and stressing about gaining weight and ruining the progress you’ve made. Here are 4️⃣ strategies I recommend using if you want to maintain your weight loss results while still enjoying eating/drinking more than usual on holiday! 1️⃣ Make movement your friend 🏋🏼‍♀️ While you’re probably looking forward to taking a break from your usual routine, this doesn’t mean you need to cut out movement entirely. You don’t need to train every day, but even planning your holiday activities that involve plenty of steps or checking for local gyms will help you maintain your weight loss results. 2️⃣ Don’t diet right into a holiday 🙅🏼‍♀️ We all want to look our best on holiday and while doing a far loss phase or ‘cut’ is the best strategy to achieve this, avoid dieting right up to your holiday as your hunger levels will be higher and you’ll be more likely to adopt a ‘f*ck it’ mentality as soon as you get there and want to eat everything! Instead, follow a phased approach and start reversing your calories back up to maintenance before going on holiday. 3️⃣ Eat more mindfully 🧠 Realistically, you don’t need to go overboard on holiday. You can enjoy yourself while still being mindful about what you’re eating. Stop eating when you’re full to manage your intake and listen to your hunger levels. 4️⃣ Build muscle 💪🏼 As well as all the other benefits building muscle provides, it’s also a hack to eating more food. LEG DAY! want to know what I do? First, I start every workout with a run, follow by a dynamic warmup. I find it best for me because I like to move and stretch this also allows me to enter my workout ALREADY sweating, this is important for those trying to tone! 3x10 of each exercise to build strength and endurance. My goal is to bulk and become stronger, however I still want to keep my endurance, all while building power and staying athletic. After my core exercises I conclude the day with abs. 3 Things that are more important than calories or movement on your weightloss journey. 1. The decision. You have to decide what it is you actually want. You have to have a crystal clear vision of exactly who that person is you want to become or you will never get there. Just saying “I want to lose weight” is not enough to get you through the hard days. 1. The journey mindset. You have to accept the fact that this is a journey. You cant keep starting and stopping. You have to just keep going. There is no more day one and there is no more “starting over on monday.” 1. The belief. You have to believe you can actually do this. Like wholeheartedly believe you can actually do this. You have to speak positivley to yourself every single day to get rid of the negative self talk and negative limiting beliefs that you are constantly surrounded with. Until you conquer these 3 parts of your mindset, the calories and movement do not matter because you won’t stick to them. 💗
