🌟 Mental Health Matters 🌟 As we observe Mental Health Awareness Week, let's come together to break the silence and stigma surrounding mental health. Remember, it's okay not to be okay, and seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Here are 7 ways to support mental health this week: 1️⃣ Prioritise self-care: Take time for yourself and practice activities that bring you joy and relaxation. 2️⃣ Reach out: Check in with friends and loved ones, and let them know you're there to listen without judgement. 3️⃣ Educate yourself: Bust myths and misconceptions about mental health by staying informed and spreading accurate information. 4️⃣ Seek support: Don't hesitate to reach out to professionals or support groups if you're struggling. 5️⃣ Be kind: A small act of kindness can make a big difference in someone's day. 6️⃣ Advocate: Speak up for mental health awareness and support policies that prioritise mental health care. 7️⃣ Share your story: Your experiences matter and can inspire others to seek help and support. Let's create a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported. Together, we can #thinkchange and make a difference in the lives of those affected by mental illness. 💚 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #EndTheStigma

5/13/2024, 7:23:12 PM

Dear friends, It’s been 1.5 years since I last posted to this account formerly known as readysetrainbow. I’m sorry to have left some of you hanging. In that time, my life had taken an unexpected turn. As many of you know, our family had separated from the Army and moved to what was supposed to be our forever home in WA State. On September 30, 2022 I lost my husband to suicide and my world turned upside down. The journey of grief has been unlike anything I could have imagined. Before this chapter of my life began, this platform was a space where I shared my passion for mindfulness and yoga, especially for kids. Now, as I return, I carry those practices with me more deeply than ever before. Mindfulness has been my anchor in the storm, guiding my family through the darkest of days and reminding us to breathe through the pain. Today, I return not just to share my story, but to reignite our conversation about the power of mindfulness, especially in the face of profound loss and transition. This journey has taught me that healing isn’t linear—it’s messy, it’s painful, and it’s deeply personal. But it’s also possible. Through the practice of mindfulness, I’ve discovered moments of peace amidst the chaos, and through sharing my story, I hope to offer solace to those who may be walking a similar path. My heart aches for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one, particularly to suicide. But I want you to know that you are not alone. Together, let’s break the silence surrounding mental health, let’s lean on each other for support, and let’s navigate this journey with compassion and understanding. If my story can offer even a glimmer of hope to someone in need, then sharing it will be worth it. Thank you for welcoming me back into this space—I look forward to the conversations we’ll share and the connections we’ll make. With love and gratitude, Reshma #mentalhealthawareness #suicideprevention #griefjourney #endthestigma #breakthesilence #selfcare #healingjourney #youarenotalone #mindfulnessmatters #strengthinvulnerability #loveandloss #mentalhealthmatters #resilience #speakup #supporteachother #findinghope #empowerment #healingtogether

🗣️In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to open up about living with clinical depression since childhood. 🌥️ Living with sunshine and shadows: A message about depression. 👉🏽It’s not a moral failing, but a medical condition that affects millions, regardless of background or belief. It’s been a part of my journey for as long as I can remember. 🌄The journey hasn’t been easy, but with support from healthcare professionals and a loving network, I’m finding new ways to appreciate the beauty in the world – and within myself. 💚Remember, depression is treatable. Another untrue mental health stigma is that people ARE their mental illness or struggle. Because it can affect so much of your life and is so present in your day-to-day, it can become easy for you or other people in your life to identify you with your mental illness or struggle. But what's true is that you aren't what happened to you, no matter how much what happened to you is affecting your present life. You are loved and worthy of being seen for who you are, not what you are experiencing. Follow along as we continue setting the record straight this Mental Health Awareness Month by discussing the untrue, harmful stigmas surrounding mental health and voicing what is true. Anticipatory grief is the ongoing process of mourning that begins when we face the possibility of losing a loved one. It's similar to grieving after a death, with feelings of sadness, anger, isolation, forgetfulness, and depression. This grief is often intensified by the responsibilities of caregiving or the stress of dealing with a loved one's substance use disorder. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross's five stages of grief can serve as a guide, but everyone experiences grief differently, so there's no one-size-fits-all approach. . . . . #SupportiveCommunity #MomsStopTheHarm #britishcolumbia #youarenotalone #TogetherWeHeal #HoldingHopeCanada #CanadaSupportGroup #addictionsupport #CompassionateSupport #PeerFacilitatedSupport #EndTheStigma #SilentGrief #addictionrecovery #holdinghope #HoldingHopeSupport #SpreadPositivity #BCSupportGroup #ConnectThroughCompassion #AddictionRecovery

As someone who suffers regularly with MH challenges, it's only appropriate to support Mental Health Awareness Week 2024. I'm lucky to have a very small yet wonderfully close support network, I’m forever thankful for them all. There are a number of things that work for me when I'm not feeling great: 1. Grounding - reassuring myself that I'm safe and ok 2. Safe place - either going to or imagining I'm there 3. Remembering that I've survived 100% of all my tough days so far I pray and hope that those struggling can see some light and get the help and support they need. May is not just the season of blooming flowers, but also a time to shed light on an important topic - mental health. Let's all come together and end the stigma surrounding it. It's time to open up and have those conversations about our mental well-being. 💭 Therapy may sound daunting, but it's actually a powerful tool that can bring immense positive change in our lives. From gaining a better understanding of our emotions to learning coping mechanisms, therapy offers a safe and confidential space for us to heal and grow. So this month, let's take a step towards prioritizing our mental health and breaking the barriers of fear and judgment.🗣💚 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #EndTheStigma #TherapyBenefits #LetsTalkAboutIt #ATVP #community #advocacy #support #pullmanproud #moscow #palouse

For this week’s Monday Mental Minute, we will focus on Mental Health Awareness Week. ⠀ Mental Health Awareness Week is a great opportunity to learn more about mental health issues and advocate change. The theme of this year’s campaign is ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’ ⠀ Regular physical activity is known to improve mental health, quality of life, and wellbeing. Physical activity can increase your energy, reduce stress and anxiety and boost your self esteem. Finding ways to add more movement into your day doesn’t have to be difficult. There are lots of simple ways to get started, such as going for a walk, dancing and even cleaning. ⠀ This mental health awareness week, I encourage you to prioritize your mental health and find moments for movement in your daily routines. Join @melissabridgemohan and I at @envirowalkcayman on June 9th and let’s move more for our mental health. #misssupranationalcaymanislands #MissSupranational #misssupranational2024 #Aspirational #Inspirational #Malopolska #NowySacz #fromthegroundupcsi #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthadvocate #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthjourney #endthestigma

They're ready. But the weather is not. My pompom box is full of posters from previous years, when we agonised over wording and worried about location. Before, it was a way to channel some of our grief and try to spread awareness as far as we could reach, in memory of Holly. Now, it feels like a gentle, colourful reminder of her, of how important looking after your mental health is and to check in with the people you love. You never know who might be suffering. Tomorrow! Tomorrow, I will brave the rain 💪 Hettie x #hollyspombombs #pompomsformentalhealth #endthestigma #mentalhealth #love #mentalillness #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthmatters #theresnohealthwithoutmentalhealth #suicideprevention #spreadjoy #spreadawareness #stopthestigma #love #grief #grieving

🌿 Simple Steps to Manage Stress and Overwhelm 🌿 Feeling overwhelmed? You’re not alone! Here’s a friendly reminder that it’s okay to take a step back and care for yourself. Whether it’s work, life, or just the daily grind getting to you, we’ve got some gentle ways to help ease the burden. 1. Speak to a Friend - Sharing how you feel can lighten your emotional load. A good chat might be just what you need! If you don’t have anyone you can talk to, connect with Meira (link in bio)
 2. Be Kind to Yourself - Remember, it’s okay not to have everything figured out. Treat yourself with the same compassion you would offer to others.
 3. Breathing Exercises - A few deep breaths can work wonders for your mind and body. Inhale positivity, exhale stress.
 4. Step Outside - Never underestimate the power of fresh air and a change of scenery to shift your perspective.
 5. Go to Bed Early - Never underestimate the power of a good night’s sleep to reset your mind and body.
 6. Start Saying No - It’s healthy to set boundaries. Saying no more often can free up your time and reduce stress.
 7. Take a Break from Social Media - Sometimes disconnecting from the digital world helps reconnect with yourself.
 8. Take Time Out to Relax - Whether it’s reading, soaking in a bath, or just lounging, make sure to carve out time for activities that rejuvenate you.
 Remember, taking care of your mental health is not a luxury, but a necessity. Let’s make self-care a priority! 💚 #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthSupport #EndTheStigma #MentalWellness #AnxietyRelief #DepressionHelp #SelfCareIsImportant #MentalHealthAdvocate #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthRecovery #MentalHealthWarrior #MentalHealthTips #SelfHelp #HealingJourney #Mindfulness #stressrelief #stressmanagement #stressfree #overwhelm #overwhelmed #anxiety #anxiousmoms #anxiousmom
