Hello beautiful people 🥰 I'm currently on holiday in gorgeous Denia in Spain 🇪🇸 Here's a little 'Message from the Rose' here at our villa, for those that need to hear it today 🌹❤️ PS.... She smells A M A Z I N G ~ just like an old English rose... 🌹Sometimes the rose is in full bloom, sometimes she is just getting ready to and sometimes she goes to sleep to rest and rejuvenate so that she can show the world all of who of she is again… We often go through different phases and cycles in our lives and when we don’t place any judgement or have any fear of where we are at or what is going on for us, living life becomes so much more beautiful by living in harmony with our truest version of self ❤️ Trusting the process of life. Trusting YOU🌹 🌟🌹🌟🌹🌟 AND... a little healing tip as we know the Rose is very much connected to the heart and the essence and fragrance naturally helps to soothe and relieve any stress, anxiety, relaxing your mind and body. She also helps with inflammation & help heal any wounds amongst many other wonderful things ♡ Call upon the energies and essence of the rose whenever you feel drawn to. You could even imagine yourself in a rose garden just bathing in the sunlight and receiving whatever it is that your body, heart and soul needs to at this time ♡ After all... Intention is everything ♡ With love Anna xo #therose #message #words #wisdom #love #selflove #phases #cycles #trust #wholeness #healing #energy #selfempowerment #personalpower #fearless #healinganxiety #innerchildhealing #traumahealing #motherfathergod #energy #nature #nurture #energyhealing #beyourownangel #intuitiveguidance #annafisherhealing #rediscoveryourmagic #createalifeyoulove

Check out my video “Understanding and Healing Your Inner Critics.” In this video, I dive into the concept of Parts work, which involves understanding the different inner voices we have that can either support or criticize us. I talk about how these inner critics may have developed from past experiences of wounded-ness and how we can show compassion towards them. I also touch on the idea of inner parents, such as an inner critic or neglector, and how we can work towards loving and addressing these vulnerable parts of ourselves. Overall, the video explores the importance of self-compassion and understanding our inner dynamics to foster self-love and healing.⁣ ⁣ Check out the video on my YouTube channel - The Catholic Therapist!

The Key to Healing Anxiety: Mind vs Body Anxiety can fool you into thinking that it’s all in your head. 🥲 What we interpret as thoughts, might actually be signals from the body. Your body sends sensory information like temperature, contraction and constriction, and even nausea when faced with uncomfortable situations or thoughts. Our minds want to make sense of it all by rationalizing, creating narratives, and being overwhelmed with what it all means. When really, our bodies are just asking us to listen. It’s asking us to feel. It’s asking us to be in spacious presence*. *easier said than done... Training your nervous system to FEEL safe, even when so much of life is happening, is the key in healing through anxiety not just from the mind, but from your body too. 👉🏽Check the resources in bio for more information #breathwork #breathworktechniques #breathworkcertification #somatichealing #healinganxiety #nervoussystemregulation #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

Anxiety is SO much more than just a mental health issue. 🙅‍♀️ The truth is that anxiety is a multifaceted condition. To view it solely as a brain issue or a neurotransmitter deficiency and throw anti-anxiety pills at it is to miss the sprawling complexity of its roots. Yes, neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and GABA play a major role in how we feel, their imbalances causing feelings of unease, but these effects extend beyond the brain into the enteric nervous system residing in the gut. 👉 This is where the gut-brain axis also comes in. 👈 Bidirectional communication between the gut and brain involves the gut microbiota—bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. Dysbiosis, a disruption in gut microbiota, correlates with anxiety, perpetuating a cycle of gut-brain disharmony exacerbated by stress-induced alterations in gut function. Then we have the way it affects almost every other system in the body… 👀 ➡️ Stress prompts the release of cortisol and adrenaline ➡️ This impacts not only the brain but also cardiovascular, respiratory, GI, and immune systems. ➡️ Chronic stress then disturbs hormone levels, perpetuating anxiety-related health repercussions. Lastly, when anxiety takes hold, our autonomic nervous system (ANS), responsible for managing things like heart rate and digestion without our conscious effort, can also go awry. This means that our "fight or flight" response gets stronger, while the "rest and digest" side weakens, making us feel more physically on edge and worsening our anxiety. 📌 The bottom line: anxiety isn't just a problem confined to the brain, it involves the intricate interplay of multiple systems throughout the body and must be addressed as such, rather than simply reaching for anti-anxiety medication as a quick fix. CHANGE. It’s really, really hard for me. I don’t often do well with changing big (or small) things in my life. I used to be afraid of changing my favorite color or favorite food when I was little 🙃 Not sure what that says about me, but we’re working on it 🤘🏼 I’m excited to flourish in a new space. A new direction. A new season of life. The biggest change I’ve ever gone through was in 2021 when my nervous system completely shut down and I couldn’t leave the house, drive, sleep, or hardly get from one room to another without having a panic attack. It was rough. And unfortunately I’m still having to work through some of it. I don’t feel completely satisfied in where my healing’s at right now. It’s messy and I come undone often. But I’m learning to be ok with things taking time. For healing to take years but to be able to notice my progress along the way. To be grateful for the small changes as well as the big ones. This page grew out of a love for clean skincare and makeup, and it’s now transforming into a passion for overall health and helping people find peace in their own bodies. THAT’S the change this page is headed towards now. I’m so ready and excited and nervous 😆 “The only thing that is certain is uncertainty.” I have a hard time with that as my battle with anxiety and healing past trauma is not complete yet, which frustrates me so much, but I also can’t control it. What are you gonna do? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Here’s to embracing the change + healing the wounds + experimenting with a new direction in this space + letting myself feel it all. CHANGE IS GOOD, right? 🥹

Survival mode spikes blood sugar! 😮‍💨 When we're stressed, our bodies release hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These tell the liver to dump glucose into our blood for quick energy, helping us deal with danger. But if this happens a lot, it can mess with our sugar levels long-term! 📈 Ready to tame that stress and balance your body? We've got an app and courses to help get your body out of fight or flight so you're not pushing a boulder uphill trying to regulate your blood sugars. 💪🏼 #ifs #selfhealer #internalfamilysystems #anxietysupport #anxietyrelief #somatichealing #somatictherapy #healthcoaching #chronicfatigue #chronicillness #autoimmunewarrior #lupuswarrior #psoriaticarthritis #depressionhelp #healingjourney #smalldailyhabits #polyvagaltheory #healinganxiety #healingdepression #selflovejourney #lupusfighter #rheumatoidarthritiswarrior #hashimotosdisease #celiacliving #lipedemafighter #inalumni #polyvagaltheory #somaticpractice

Excited anticipation over the guy you’ve started dating? Or Anxiety? Hey lovelies & if you’re holding onto repressed emotions from childhood trauma & now have a hyper-vigilant, fearful nervous system, the likelihood is it’s anxiety. Even more likely is the fact that you’re right to be anxious. The super tiny signals that your body sends out unconsciously are the very signals that attract unsuitable, emotionally unhealthy relationships into your life, time & time again. That’s why you feel so connected, like you’ve known each other forever. This is trauma bonding & it won’t stop, until you put a stop to the cycle, by soothing & calming your own system first. #anxiety #healinganxiety #healthyrelationshipgoals

#mentalhealth 🔁 @annatheanxietycoach ・・・ Feeling safe reflects a fundamental human process that allows you to survive & thrive. Your sense of safety is a process that occurs within the autonomic nervous system - and in turn, influences our mental & physical health, social relationships Polyvagal Theory - often referred to as “The Science Of Safety”, illustrates how the autonomic nervous system interacts with the external (and internal) world to determine safety or danger. Your nervous system interprets internal bodily feelings & physiological functions as well as the stimuli from your external environment to assess whether or not a situation is dangerous or safe. If danger or threat is detected your body shifts into its sympathetic or “fight-or-flight” or dorsal vagal (shutdown) responses systems in order to protect you. If cues of safety are detected or perceived, the parasympathetic (ventral vagal) system comes online and supports interpersonal connection & optimal bodily functioning. How your nervous system defines and determines safety is a highly individual process based on your experiences & history. The key to creating safety is to learn how to recognise & respond appropriately to the cues of danger or threat & also those that signal safety. The more you practice this skill the easier it will be for your nervous system to become more flexible in its responses & adapt better to the world around you. Swipe through to explore 3 resources that can be useful to create a sense of safety within body & mind. PLEASE SEE DISCLAIMER IN HIGHLIGHT #feelingsafe #safeplace #polyvagaltheory #vagusnerve #vagusnervestimulation #vagusnervehealing #mindbodyhealing #mindbodyconnection #anxietyattacks #healinganxiety #anxietytools #anxietymanagement #nervoussystemregulation #somaticexperiencing #anxietyrelief #anxietyrecovery #anxietyfree #anxietyanddepression #anxietysurvivor #anxietysymptoms #anxietytreatment #panicattackhelp #nervoussystemhealth #somatictherapy #somaticmovement #nervoussystemtraining #nervoussystemrepair

If you feel overwhelmed all the time, it’s because your nervous system’s cup is filled and you keep pouring in it. You first need to find a way to sip what’s inside the cup to open space for more life to happen. Overthinking is underfeeling. There is so much shame around our attachment style🤯 Even if you work on it, the labels of dismissive avoidant, love addict aka anxious are being thrown around all over the internet. We all have our way to get our needs met and oftentimes in relating, we swing between all the “styles”. When we decide to shift the patterns that are disconnecting us from love, body work is essential. Because it is with the body that we perceived either connection or neglect as infants. it is in the body that all the alchemical processes took place when we didn’t get what we needed most ❤️‍🩹 🫶🏼 . . . #embodiment #somaticpractice #somaticmovement #femininesomatics #divineunion #femininecoach #somatic #lovewarrior #healinganxiety #loveaddiction #healingavoidantattachment #healingattachmentwounds #healthyrelationships💓 #relationships #healingjourney #attachmenttrauma

I want to take a moment and write a message truly from my heart to you. Especially if you are living with anxiety and trauma. It can feel like such a silent burden, and most people don't know how difficult it is to live with it. You can look completely fine on the outside, but inside things are in chaos. I see you my friend. I know how terrible it is it live with. I know how crazy you might feel at times, and how of of control you feel. I know you don't want to live with anxiety, but it just feels like it's happening to you. And then, it gets worse, when people don't get it, and they say things that try to be helpful like "just don't worry about it", or "you have to learn how to let it go" Seriously?!? You would if you could right? Anxiety and trauma used to make it difficult for me to function. It creates so much turmoil and intensity in my mind, that I often felt like I was in a battle with my mind. Do you ever feel like you are battling your own mind? If you've been experiencing this silent battle that feels really isolating and lonely drop a ❤ below and know you are not alone. And that there are resources and tools to help you❤

So often, we live *just* below our tolerance line, which is why symptoms can feel random and inconsistent. Have you ever had a conversation with yourself that went something like this: "I'm having issues with eggs. Oh, this time I didn't, so never mind. Wait, it's happening again. I'm confused. Struggling with anxiety? Try this calming morning routine to keep anxiety at bay 🤍 1️⃣👉 Hydrate: As soon as you wake up, drink a glass of water with lemon and a pinch of salt to rehydrate your body after a night's rest. It can help to prepare this the night before and keep it in the fridge for the morning. 2️⃣👉 Mindful Breathing: Begin your day with a few minutes of mindful breathing. Sit or lie comfortably, close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Inhale deeply through your nose, allowing your abdomen to rise, then exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any tension. 3️⃣👉 Stretching or Yoga: Incorporate gentle stretching or yoga poses into your morning routine to loosen up your muscles and promote relaxation. Focus on slow, deliberate movements and deep breathing. 4️⃣👉 Gratitude Practice: Take a moment to reflect on what you're grateful for. Consider keeping a gratitude journal and writing down three things you're thankful for each morning. 5️⃣👉 Healthy Breakfast: Fuel your body with a nutritious breakfast to kickstart your day. Choose foods rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats to provide sustained energy and stabilize blood sugar levels. 6️⃣👉 Sunlight On Face: Spend a few minutes outdoors or by a window, allowing natural sunlight to touch your face. Sunlight exposure can help regulate your circadian rhythm and boost mood by increasing serotonin levels. 7️⃣👉 Set Intentions: Set positive intentions for the day ahead. Visualize how you want your day to unfold and focus on what you can control. Choose affirmations or mantras that resonate with you and repeat them silently or aloud. 8️⃣👉 Plan Your Day: Take a few minutes to plan your day and prioritize tasks. Break down your to-do list into manageable steps and allocate time for self-care and relaxation. Having a clear plan can help reduce feelings of overwhelm and anxiety. If anxiety is seriously impacting your life, seeking support is the first step to healing. 5 calming nutrients to eat when feeling anxious 💗 1️⃣ Magnesium: Magnesium is known as a natural relaxant and helps regulate neurotransmitter function, including GABA, which has calming effects on the brain. Magnesium deficiency has been linked to increased anxiety symptoms. The best food sources include: ✅ Leafy greens (think spinach and kale) ✅ Nuts, seeds, and legumes ✅ Whole grains (brown rice and quinoa) and dark chocolate 2️⃣ Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties and support brain health, which can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety. They also play a role in eurotransmitter function and mood regulation. Top food sources: ✅ Fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines, and trout) ✅ Flaxseeds and chia seeds ✅ Walnuts and hemp seeds 3️⃣ Vitamin B Complex (B6, B9, B12): B vitamins play a crucial role in neurotransmitter synthesis, including serotonin and dopamine, which are involved in mood regulation. Try including these food sources: ✅ B6: poultry, fish, bananas, potatoes, and chickpeas. ✅ B9: leafy greens, legumes, avocado, and fortified grains. ✅ B12: animal products such as meat, fish, eggs, and dairy 4️⃣ Zinc: Zinc is involved in neurotransmitter function, immune system regulation, and stress response. Similarly to magnesium, zinc deficiency has been associated with increased anxiety symptoms. Food sources: ✅ Red meat and poultry ✅ Seafood (such as crab, oysters, lobster) ✅ Beans, nuts, seeds, and whole grains 5️⃣Vitamin D: Vitamin D deficiency has also been associated with mood disorders, including anxiety and depression. Although sunlight is the best source of vitamin D, top choices when it comes to food are: ✅ Fatty fish (such as salmon, mackerel, and tuna) ✅ Egg yolks ✅ Fortified dairy products / plant-based milk alternatives. FREEDOM!! I’ve been playing a lot lately with ideas that are stuck in the collective consciousness... . ...like how we “should” act, or pushing our desires aside to make someone else happy... . This isn’t “who you are” - it’s who you’ve (unconsciously) been trained to be! . There is another way of being - one that is more aligned, creates more ease in your soul, more vitality in your body... . To me, true freedom is when we honor our inner knowing AND act on it! . What does freedom mean to you? How do you know when you’re free? Let me know in the comments! Want to break through some layers and step into your next level of expansion? When emotions take over it can feel like you don’t have any control over your reactions, thoughts or behaviours. Amygdala hijack is your emotional response to stress which involves two parts of the brain; the amygdala & cerebral cortex. The amygdala is part of the limbic system with is responsible for emotional & behavioural responses, which is highly connected to the autonomic nervous system. The Cerebral Cortex regulates higher functions like reasoning, thinking, decision making & planning. In the event of perceived threat, the amygdala jumps to action, reacting with fight/flight response. Depending on your past experiences, trauma and levels of stress, your cerebral cortex helps you determine whether the danger is real and/or immediate & helps you decide what to do in response to danger. If your nervous system is dysregulated & sensItive due to your past life experiences, your reaction to perceived threats is heightened in order to keep you safe. The connection to the cerebral cortex is weaker making it difficult to emotionally regulate or think rationally when faced with triggers or challenges. If your nervous system is over-active or dysregulated, then your sympathetic system can get ‘stuck’ on or triggered easily. By connecting with your body & regulating your nervous system, you can use ‘bottom-up’ techniques to calm yourself back down & allowing higher functioning in the brain to come back online. Have you ever felt like your logical/rational brain has been ‘offline’ when you’re activated? Or maybe trying to think your way through a trigger has felt difficult? Anxiety is SO much more than just a mental health issue. The truth is that anxiety is a multifaceted condition. Then we have the way it affects almost every other system in the body... 👀 ➡️ Stress prompts the release of cortisol and adrenaline ➡️ This impacts not only the brain but also cardiovascular, respiratory, GI, and immune systems. This is where I come in. I help individuals just like you overcome their symptoms by creating step-by-step action plans. Changing habits can be tough. Without first understanding your default stress response, creating and sticking to new habits can feel overwhelming. That's because if we're trying to "attack" the problem and coming at it from a place of fight or flight, then we're relying on adrenaline, cortisol, and willpower to get us through. And when the body is in short supply of those things, you might struggle, have setbacks, and feel like you're failing. But you can shift from a stressed state to calm one and make lasting changes. This is where somatic movements, binaural beats, journaling and gut healing come into play. When our body is in a state of rest and digest, we're able to see more opportunity, possibility, and can mentally be in a place where we can reframe beliefs and challenge our own ideas. THIS is what makes change happen. We can't try and shame ourselves into change or wellness. It's never going to stick. Want to conquer stress and make habits stick? Did you know that your breath holds incredible power to soothe and heal anxiety? It’s true! 🧘‍♂️ 1️⃣ Mind-Body Connection: Our breath is a direct link between our mind and body. When we feel anxious, our breath becomes shallow and rapid, signaling to our brain that something is amiss. By practicing conscious, deep breathing, we can send signals of calm and relaxation to our brain, helping to alleviate anxiety. 2️⃣ Stress Reduction: Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the body’s “rest and digest” response. This helps to counteract the effects of the sympathetic nervous system (our “fight or flight” response), reducing stress levels and promoting a sense of calm. 3️⃣ Emotional Regulation: Breathwork techniques can help us regulate our emotions by increasing our awareness of the present moment. By focusing on the rhythm of our breath, we can anchor ourselves in the here and now, making it easier to navigate challenging emotions like anxiety. 4️⃣ Trauma Healing: Breathwork has been shown to be effective in trauma healing by releasing stored tension and emotions from the body. Through specific breathwork practices, individuals can gently process and release past traumas, leading to greater emotional resilience and inner peace. Ready to harness the power of your breath to conquer anxiety? Start with simple deep breathing exercises and explore different breathwork techniques to find what resonates with you. Remember, your breath is always available to guide you back to a place of calm and serenity. ♾️

Panic attacks are surprisingly common, at least one third of us will experience a panic attack at some point in our lives, so if you experience panic attacks, know that you’re not alone. Panic attacks come on suddenly and can feel as though you can’t breathe, your heart may be pounding and you may experience intense feelings of fear, nausea, trembling or shaking, sweating, hot or cold flashes, or tingling sensations. This is because your body has activated your fight or flight response which floods the body with adrenaline & cortisol, which prepares your muscles and organs for danger by pumping more oxygen and blood to big muscle groups like your legs. You might feel dizzy because of blood being diverted away from your brain and into these muscles, as well as your mouth may be open to get more oxygen into your body. Nausea, diarrhoea or gastric distress is really common as well because when you enter fight or flight, your digestive system grinds to a halt as you don’t need to eat a big meal when you’re fighting off danger. How do you calm yourself down when you’re having a panic attack? Swipe through for my panic attack survival kit ❤️ 👉️ I've put together a 15-page guidebook sharing tools, resources and lifestyle changes to support managing and overcoming panic attacks for good! {Personal Invite + Update} How is life feeling for you lately? Feel free to respond below with one word or few sentences. I have missed you! Life has been full and my attention has been pulled in many directions, which is why I haven’t been posting lately. But today is the day to say hello, give you a quick update, and invite you to my next online gathering. ———— Lately, I have been thinking, writing, and teaching about all the ways we have been taught to armor up and push through our feelings. And, how we have gotten stuck in a man’s world that tell us to do more, have more, and be more, as if nothing is ever enough. But this is not the way our hearts want us to lead and live. We must honor and acknowledge our feelings, let them pass through us, and begin to soften into the places we are most hard on ourselves. I will tell you a story about myself...✨ Growing up, I was a big feeler. I had a lot of emotions and was highly sensitive, which made it difficult for my parents to understand my needs. It was also during the 90s, a time when there wasn’t a lot of education around how to parent highly sensitive and big feeling kids. During my teen years, I went through some experiences that taught me to toughen up, to hold things in and pretend like everything was fine. But everything was not fine - far from it. This is when I began to suppress much of what I was feeling and use other, unhealthier ways to cope. Before I became pregnant, I started tapping into some of these suppressed feelings and softening into the places I was most critical of myself. A large part of my healing process and what helped me become pregnant, was healing parts of myself that I had abandoned years ago. Another big piece was reconnecting to my intuition and allowing it to be my guide. 👉🩵 More in comments + invitation for you!
