Das ist der Grund warum es bei Schilddrüsenproblematik nicht ausreicht TSH zu messen: TSH steht für Thyroidea stimulierendes Hormon – also Schilddrüse stimulierendes Hormon. TSH wird in der Hirnanhangsdrüse gebildet, ins Blut abgegeben und bewirkt an der Schilddrüse eine vermehrte Produktion der Schilddrüsenhormone T3 und T4. Bei T4 handelt es sich in erster Linie um ein Speicherhormon, aus welchem der Körper je nach Bedarf T3 oder rT3 herstellt. Was deine Zellen wirklich brauchen ist T3, das "aktive" Schilddrüsenhormon, denn nur mit genügend T3 fühlst du dich nicht nur richtig gut, sondern... ✅️der Stoffwechsel wird angekurbelt ✅️die Verdauung ist top ✅️du hast viel Energie und bist konzentriert ✅️deine Haut ist schön und deine Haare voll ✅️du hast warme Hände-Füße ✅️dein Zyklus ist beschwerdefrei und regelmäßig ✅️Stimmungsschwankungen werden gemindert ✅️Angst- und Panikattacken können reguliert werden. I see your frustration with your lack of progress…WTF is going on, right?! I see the hard work that those of you are putting in to feel better; to get over the bone crushing fatigue, the roller coaster moods, the weight loss resistance, the aches, the pains, the bloats and all the rest of the persistent symptoms. There’s no better feeling than starting to feeling yourself again ✨ Life can throw unexpected challenges our way and when it’s related to your health it completely knocks your confidence as you feel like you’ve lost complete control over your own body as well as feeling like you’re in the wrong body. As much as it’s horrible to go through any changes relating to health, it’s definitely a part of our journey and it teaches us resilience, patience, and inner/mental strength. My advice… Do NOT settle for feeling tired all the time despite a good diet, hydration and daily exercise, if your nails and hair won’t grow, really struggling to lose weight despite good/high output and low food where you know you’d be sat in a calorie deficit, mood swings (not PMS related), irregular menstrual cycles/no periods, swollen/inflamed body, bloating, afternoon energy dumps, brain fog, memory loss - anything that doesn’t feel right, means it probably isn’t right. I was so miserable last year. Fast forward to now, and I feel so much better in my own skin, I feel happier and I know I still have many more steps to take yet before I’m at 100%. And as I know more, I’ll be able to share more. One thing that still shocks me is that I can’t believe that GLUTEN was causing so much inflammation to my body and the impact it was having. This is just one piece of the puzzle for me but I can definitely notice how happy my body and gut is now. It’s strange how the body can just suddenly change 🙃 Anyway for now my advice would be… Seek the right help and support. Consider getting the tests/blood work done (blood tests will be your greatest ally in this). Do the work. And the magic will happen. Not overnight but eventually. And you’ll be grateful that you didn’t ignore those signs any longer. 10 months dealing with Heamochromatosis and subsequent recovery from my first spike later, and I'm finally back here five afternoons a week. Amazingly, at least 3/4 of the strength I gained is still there. I have however understandably gained weight over that time. As since my late teens, it triggered Hashimoto's which actually can sometimes be a warning sign of what's to come later on. Without shame, I'll admit I went from 105kg to 93kg, then ballooned all the way back to 110kg. Wonderful. This was because the fatigue it caused was so severe that my thyroid actually started misbehaving and not registering the pills I was on. So now I'm on a more potent version of thyroxine replacement. Which I felt kick in within two days. Hopefully I'm six weeks away along with resuming everything I used to from getting back to normal. It hasn't been an easy journey. Though quarterly venesections are going to be the forever after. This is a big one, and there is no singular answer. Thyroid cannot be treated with a cookie cutter approach. Most importantly I want to see all of your thyroid markers - not TSH. We need to see how your thyroid gland and is actually functioning and producing the thyroid hormones, T3 and T4. And then whether the immune system is involved with antibodies, and to what level. ❤️HASHIMOTO'S THYROIDITIS // Hashimoto's is the most common autoimmune condition that is the leading cause of hypothyroidism (aka not enough thyroid hormones) 🙅‍♀️Basically, your body has made an error and has started to mount an immune response to your thyroid gland which can interfere with its ability to produce hormones (sometimes it doesn't but you can still experience symptoms!) 🤔So, what can you do about it? 🐟1. Ensure you are getting adequate iodine from your diet from sources such as seaweed, iodised salt and seafood like fish and shellfish. You do NOT need an iodine containing supplement UNLESS you are trying to conceive, pregnant or breastfeeding - consult your health care provider for advice on this one. 🥜2. Boost that selenium, 1-2 Brazil nuts per day usually does the trick, although depending on where your Brazil nuts are from they can vary in selenium content A LOT. There is some evidence to suggest selenium supplementation can low thyroid autoantibodies in Hashimoto's, so consult your health care provider for a recommendation. ☀️3. Vitamin D deficiency is common but even more so in those with Hashimoto's, ensure these are tested regularly and are optimised! If they're low or sub-optimal, get onto correcting that with a tailored supplement regime 🥑4. Follow an Anti-Inflammatory Diet! Hashimoto's is a chronic INFLAMMATORY condition so embracing dietary antioxidants is key! 🍞5. There is not enough evidence for a gluten-free diet for everyone, and certainly don't attempt without being screened for coeliac disease first! Another autoimmune condition which can easily be missed when gluten is cut out! 👩‍⚕️6. See your doctor! Ozempic. Ik ben sterk aan het overwegen om het in de toekomst te gebruiken om af te vallen (als het met de gym en goed eten niet lukt) terwijl ik weet dat er zoveel mensen extreem tegen zijn. Het is namelijk een medicijn voor mensen met diabetes en ik heb geen diabetes. Ik heb wel insuline resistentie. Ik kan gewoon moeilijk afvallen, en hoewel ik heerlijk ga in de sportschool hou ik Ozempic in mijn achterhoofd voor als het afvallen toch niet doorzet. Het gaat namelijk tussen af en toe een prik die je kortdurend een boost geeft of een maagverkleining waarbij je de rest van je leven 'anders' moet omgaan met eten en drinken. Noem me egoïstisch maar dan ga ik liever voor de minder definitieve optie. Natuurlijk niet als er tekort van het medicijn is, mensen met diabetes moeten altijd voor gaan. Voor nu gun ik mijn lijf de tijd om het 'zelf' te gaan doen, en als dat niet gaat ga ik absoluut kijken welke opties ik heb om mijn lijf te helpen. Mijn doel is namelijk een gezond bmi, niet omdat ik dik zijn lelijk vind maar omdat ik gezond zijn belangrijk vind. En ik wil nog heel lang leven en genieten van mijn gezin. Niet elk pondje gaat door het mondje. Doesn't it really all come down to energy? Most of us either need more or want more. But on a smaller scale it all comes down to energy as well. Our cells, tissues, organs and body systems each have their own frequency. Each emotion, pathogen, toxin, food, hormone and nutrient also have their own frequency that can leave an energetic imprint. And by measuring this energy we can get a sense of the health of the body and what individual factors may be affecting it. From here we can also use the frequency of remedies with the body to see if they are in resonance for improving our health. If we come from an understanding that the body always knows and is innately intelligent it is a beautiful way to truly work with the body. It really doesn’t get much more bio individual or holistic than that! Maybe you are in a situation where you feel like you have exhausted all the possibilities; you’ve worked on all the nutrition and lifestyle changes and you are still at a loss for what the underlying issue is for your continued fatigue, sleep, pain, mood and digestive symptoms. 2.5 weeks into starting antidepressants and this is the most “normal” I’ve felt in a LONG time. Like…. is this how everyone feels all the time? It feels like I was in an allergy commercial, where my world was grey, blurry, murky, and foggy and that veil has finally been lifted. My mood, energy levels, and random pains in my body has been progressively getting worse in the last few months (I guess living in the states is pretty depressing for me). I finally seeked help from my doctor when I started to hide in the bathroom at work to cry in between patients. I thought my autoimmune conditions were just getting worse and I was operating at a different baseline, but turns out the chemicals in my brain were just imbalanced. After work, I’m still tired, but no longer exhausted where I cannot function or do anything else and I’m no longer irritable towards my loved ones. I’m able to catch up with world happenings without being consumed or burnt out from it. I feel like I can go about my day with more ease. I’m able to reap the benefits from my practices (positive intelligence, meditation, breathwork, yoga). 15/05/2024 🤍 it's been 1 years since I had my first laparoscopy and was officially diagnosed with endometriosis! It's wild at how fast this past year has gone!! I will say I have no regrets for this surgery - even though my endo has fully come back, I got my official dx and I did have about 4-5 months relief 🙏🏻 I have Surface Endometriosis (clinically called 'superficial endometriosis' but I hate that wording, it makes it seem less real) - which is one of the most common endometriosis. SE forms as a shallow lesion along the peritoneum (membrane that lines the abdominal cavit), whereas Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis (DIE) is found deep in the tissues and organs - and can fuse your organs together. Thankfully I don't have DIE right now 🤞🏻 Last year they found endometriosis in my Right Pararectal Peritoneal - translation: implanted directly behind the right side of my bowels; in my Pouch of Douglas, which is basically a pouch between the uterus and the rectum (and this is where they found the most, explaining my intense pain in that area); and in my Left Ovarian Fossa - which is behind and on my left ovary. They excised all the endo that they could visibly see in my pelvic area. Endo still wreaks havoc in my daily life and is coming back with a vengeance 🫠 My surgery scars are mostly unnoticeable unless you're looking for them! I'm so so grateful to everyone who has supported me this past year, I wouldn't be here without you! 🤍🤍🤍
