Best complement ever! But maybe that’s because I don’t often get complemented on how far I’ve come with my healing. How I’ve done it all on my own. I don’t blame people though because that’s not a visual thing that others can see. Other people didn’t know how much pain I was in or how tired I was 👏🏼 all 👏🏼 the 👏🏼 time. My struggles weren’t very visible. So I’ll take a topical compliment with open arms any day. I hope I’ll hear more compliments about how I’ve helped other women reverse their autoimmune disease, come off meds, stop their injections, and end their fatigue and skin flares. Because actually living is better than just existing. Running with your dog, playing with your kids, being able to focus on work, drive long distances, take vacations, go on walking tours, blow dry your hair, button your own shirt, tie your own shoes, feeding your family healing foods.. all priceless and so worth it. That’s my wish for you and for me. 🛼Let’s start hearing those compliments rolling in. Whether it be that your nails are pretty and strong, your skin looks smooth, or that you’ve come so far with healing and moving around better. 🏃🏽‍♀️And here’s an action tip: compliment someone every day. No matter how small or large, make it genuine. A compliment can make both you and the receiver feel great. 🧴Want my free skin guide? Recovering from a viral infection can take a toll on both the body and mind. The wellness protocol that features nicotine patches, low-dose naltrexone, and NAD+ therapy offers a comprehensive approach to support the body's healing process and help individuals return to their usual state of well-being. Each component of this protocol targets different aspects of recovery, aiming to alleviate symptoms, reduce inflammation, and restore energy levels. Nicotine patches, traditionally used to aid in smoking cessation, have been found to possess anti-inflammatory properties. In the context of post-viral recovery, the controlled use of nicotine can potentially mitigate some of the inflammatory responses that contribute to prolonged symptoms. Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) is another key component of this protocol. LDN is known for its ability to modulate the immune system, reducing auto-immune responses and inflammation without the significant side effects associated with higher doses of naltrexone. By potentially dialing down the body's overactive immune response following a viral infection, LDN can help reduce fatigue, pain, and other lingering symptoms, facilitating a smoother recovery process. Lastly, NAD+ therapy introduces a boost of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a vital coenzyme in cellular energy production. Post-viral fatigue and malaise can often be attributed to diminished cellular energy. By replenishing NAD+ levels, this therapy aims to enhance cellular functions, improve energy levels, and support overall physical and cognitive wellness. #nadtherapy #depression #anxiety #addiction #chronicfatigue #increaseenergy #inflammation #natural #wellness #health #naltrexone #nicotine

If you answered "yes" ✅ to feeling any of those symptoms, there's a good chance your symptoms are caused by a hormonal imbalance. Signs of hormonal imbalance more often point to a bigger health concern. Your body doesn’t make mistakes: If you’re experiencing these symptoms, something is causing it. Ignoring them could mean ignoring an underlying health issue and/or chronic illness. What is one thing I wish I knew sooner?! Well quite frankly I wish I could pick only 1 but there was A LOT I thought I knew and I was wrong. Some of the top things I wish I knew sooner.. Protein does not make you fat or bulky - it’s actually essential and important for EVERYONE and all ages no matter your fitness level to preserve lean muscle tissue and optimize your metabolism! Cardio is NOT the best exercise alone for targeting body fat. While it can be beneficial for many things including mental health & cardiovascular health - pick up the weights!! Weight training is essential for healthy strong muscle tissue and burns calories much longer. Postworkout nutrition is a game changer! If you struggle with feeling fatigued, depleted, tired and sore after your workouts causing you to reduce training days or feel miserable invest in post workout supplementation ASAP - IT WORKS! You can literally feel the difference immediately after your workout - replace the glycogen stores you just burned out to replenish energy and allow your body to prioritize muscle repair quicker instead! This cuts down on the time needed to repair and recover the muscles allowing you to train harder and more often without needing assistance up the stairs or off the toilet 🚽 While helping you look lean and toned and burning that fat more effectively! Link to the postworkout I personally use, love & recommend in bio or reach out anytime with questions! You can try it risk free for 30 days and see and feel the difference for yourself. 💪 The more you know matters! Being able to share the tips and tricks that helped me look better, feel better, train harder, improve my blood work, get rid of my anxiety - it’s literally my favorite thing in the world to help other people discover the same 🌎 Fitness builds confidence not just muscles! Invest in yourself and your health today you won’t regret it 👊 #carbs #glycogen #postworkout #sore #soreness #fatigue #chronicfatigue #muscle #protein #coach #riskfree #myfavorite #getlean #gettoned #whey #wheyisolate #nobull #rogue #roguefitness

Neue Diagnosen… #chronischkrank #chronisch #chronischeschmerzen #mecfs #pots #rollstuhl #schmerzen #diagnose #chronicillness #chronic #chronicpain #chronicfatigue #fatigue #mecfsawareness #myalgischeenzephalomyelitis #wheelchair #wheelchairlife #potssyndrome

CLC MEMBER FEATURE: Hi! My name is Simran and I am 16 years old. This past fall I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. Crohn’s Disease is a chronic autoimmune disease of the bowel, which causes inflammation throughout the GI tract, and I am proud to share my story 💜🎗️. Starting in early August, I began to experience intense abdominal pain and cramping, which I ignored and put off as menstrual cramping. By October, other symptoms started to appear, such as weight loss, fatigue, loss of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting. We first went to my pediatrician, who took labs and other tests to try and find the source of my onset symptoms. My health continued to decline for the next week and I was told that I may have Salmonella or another bacterial infection. One night, after vomiting blood and complaining of intense pain in my stomach, my parents drove me to the emergency room. Soon after arriving, more labs were taken and I was admitted to the hospital. My doctor did a colonoscopy, endoscopy, and MRI and diagnosed me with Crohn’s Disease. I started infusion medication to alleviate my symptoms but the first medicine did not work. After 3 more months of active symptoms and steroids, I switched medication and my health is starting to improve. For some time I was in a really hard place after my diagnosis, and I felt as if no one understood what it felt like to be tired constantly. It is difficult to talk about unpleasant symptoms with friends and family, and especially as a teenager in highschool. I struggled with learning how to cope with my rare disease, and it was hard to accept that my life would forever be changed. So having Faith in myself and God to let my body heal is one of the most important lessons I have learned in the past 6 months. Today, by sharing my story, I hope to help other teenagers with IBD to encourage them to share their own stories. I am so grateful for all the support that I have received from my doctors, family, and friends. It is important that we continue to live our lives and overcome the struggles that we are faced with. Remember, God only puts us through things because he knows that we can handle it and persevere 💛😇

What Is Meant By the Term “Airway Orthodontics”? Airway orthodontics is not a widely recognized term but it basically describes how an orthodontist practices or thinks. An airway focused orthodontist understands that cosmetically straightening teeth is not a healthy answer. Old school thinking believes that malocclusion (crowded, crooked teeth) is the problem and moving teeth is the answer. Airway orthodontists understand that when a child has a better airway, he or she will have a better life. These orthodontists understand that soft tissue dysfunction is the etiology of malocclusion and they look for better ways to address the root cause. The problem is not really about the teeth. It is about the body seeking equilibrium. Malocclusion is the body’s solution to an imbalance. Wondering if you’re a good candidate for myo or airway ortho? Download the Getting Started Guide! DM the words GETTING STARTED and I will send you information to download this guide!

Langfristig denken. 🇬🇧 A year ago, I wasn’t able to imagine it, but by now I actually know the rhythm of activity and rest that my body needs in order to function. To function almost reliably in this new “normal” with a chronic illness, on this very different level to what I was used to. Today for example is a rest day. For me that means staying way below capacity as far as my energy is concerned. Having rest days gives my inner battery a chance to improve its base capacity in the long run and prevents me from becoming drained to the point of crashing. At the moment I need a rest day every 2-4 days. Just enough household chores to have something to eat, just enough calm activity so I don’t die of boredom, but everything in quiet. A little session with flexibility exercises for my body, very little physical movement aside from that. The TOP 4 hormone imbalances that contribute to fatigue. ⤵ Hormones are the chemical messengers that regulate various bodily functions. When these delicate hormonal symphonies fall out of tune, fatigue can set in as a result. Understanding the most common hormone imbalances that contribute to fatigue is a crucial step towards reclaiming our energy and overall well-being: 🔹Thyroid Imbalance The thyroid gland produces thyroid hormones, primarily thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), which regulate metabolism and energy production in the body. Hypothyroidism, characterized by an underactive thyroid, can lead to fatigue due to reduced metabolic rate, impaired energy production, and decreased utilization of nutrients by the cells. 🔹Adrenal Imbalance The adrenal glands produce hormones, including cortisol, which regulate the body's response to stress. Prolonged or excessive stress can disrupt the normal functioning of the adrenal glands, leading to adrenal fatigue or adrenal insufficiency, resulting in fatigue, weakness, and other similar symptoms. 🔹Insulin Imbalance Insulin is a hormone produced by the pancreas that helps regulate blood sugar levels by facilitating the uptake of glucose into cells. Insulin resistance occurs when cells become less responsive to the effects of insulin, resulting in impaired glucose uptake and elevated blood sugar levels. This can lead to persistent high levels of insulin in the blood, and subsequent fatigue. 🔹Sex Hormone Imbalances Sex hormones, including estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, play critical roles in various bodily functions. Imbalances in these hormones can contribute to fatigue. For example, estrogen dominance, characterized by relatively higher levels of estrogen compared to progesterone, can cause fatigue, mood swings, and decreased energy levels. If you’re suffering from fatigue and need some guidance in getting your energy back, send me a DM to learn more about my personalized approach. 💗 #adrenalfatigue #adrenalfatiguerecovery #chronicfatigue #chronicfatiguewarrior #fatigued #hormonebalance #hormone #hormones #hormonesupport #healthyhormones

Super excited that I finally got to have my Dexa scan today. I got an A+ rating for my overall body composition. We discussed the results after and it was recommended that I increase my protein intake and aim to add more muscle but not necessarily lose any body fat. I was super excited to hear that my visceral fat, or bad fat around your organs, was at 0.15 lbs and below 0.5lbs is best 🎉 I was also happy to hear that my bone density is between normal and great range which is particularly important for women. Overall I’m really happy with where I’m at given I have only consistently been feeling good for roughly 6 months. I’ve worked hard to gain back the muscle I lost during my 3 years of Lyme treatment. #dexascan #dexafit #bodycomposition #chronicillness #chroniclyme #chroniclymedisease #lyme #lymedisease #mcas #mastcellactivationsyndrome #endometriosis #fibromyalgia #chronicfatigue #tmj #chickswholift #ilovemuscle

4 steps to heal from a chronic disease: fibromyalgia, CFS, ME, lyme, Long COVID, etc. Many people struggle with the first step, which involves calming down the nervous system. It's not a magic trick, nor does it require elaborate visualizations. Instead, it can be incredibly simple, and you can incorporate it into every aspect of your life. This applies to everything from eating, thinking, and sleeping to running errands. You can do everything in a more harmonious manner. Finding the underlying stressor in your body that is causing your current symptoms is the second step. Forget about the screaming symptoms; instead, focus on breathing and find the stressor in your organs. Connect with it by breathing through it, and a story will unravel. The third step is to prepare your brain for the stressor. Right now, it protects you against it. You have programmed the unconscious mind in such a way that these symptoms are now needed. To reverse this, take the opposite approach and gradually expose yourself to your stressors. Do this every day for a few minutes in a safe environment. This way, you normalize stressful feelings and become more aware of them. Eventually, you will feel much better, and it will automatically come up. Finally, you would need to release the stressor. Implement one of the release tools from the release program and guide your body into a state of surrender. Unvoluntary movements, such as shaking, shivering, crying, and sweating, will occur. Let the body do what needs to be done for a few minutes. This can be overwhelming, but keep in mind that fighting it at an unconscious level is much more exhausting. On top of that, the symptoms and high stress levels are destroying your life. So, better to get on with it. After a release, you will feel so much better. Symptoms such as fatigue, pain, and depersonalization can dissipate instantly after a full release. A partial release can make the symptoms a bit more extreme, but know that you are almost there. Do it again and go a bit deeper. #pots #longcovid #fibromyalgia #chronicillness #chronicpain #chronicfatiguesyndrome #mecfs #mecfsrecovery #mecfswarrior #depersonalization #chronicfatigue #recoverytips

My daughter LOVES Arizona iced tea and my son loves Gatorade. Of course they do! They are FULL of sugar! Do you know what’s in some of your family’s favorite drinks and how it may be affecting yours or their health? A few fun facts about sugar: 🥤 Fluctuations in your blood sugar can cause #moodswings , #fatigue , #headaches, and false hunger. 🥤 Sugar increases the risk of #obesity , #diabetes , and #heartdisease . 🥤 Sugar feeds #cancer. 🥤 Sugar decreases your own #immunesystem function, while feeding bacteria, viruses, and fungi. 🥤 Sugar accelerates aging. No joke, it actually causes the skin to lose elasticity resulting in premature aging. 🥤 Sugar affects cognition in children. 🥤 💥 Sugar increases stress‼️After you eat a sweet snack, stress hormones begin to compensate for the crash by raising your blood sugar. The result? —> Unexplained anxiousness, irritability, and even shakiness. 🥤 Sugar takes the place of important nutrients. According to USDA data, people who consume the most sugar have the lowest intakes of essential nutrients––especially vitamins A, C, B-12, and calcium. I could go on and on. Rethink your drink. Broadway Access Reviews - The Notebook (@notebookmusical) If any theater folks see this and want tips on what accessible staging looks like, check out my channel! I also do consulting and accessible education work so feel free to reach out If you’d rather read this review in a different format, you can find all of them in the access reviews section of my website which is linked in my bio ID: 5 slides. The first has a photo of the “The Notebook” Playbill in front of the stage and says “Access Review” next to it. The rest of the slides have the logo as a background with a white text box on top filled with black text. Slide 2 says “General Note - This is a review of the accessibility of the theater, of the lighting/sound/scent design of the show, and a list of content warnings as a way to prep folks with various needs before they go see it. This is not meant to scare anyone away from seeing the show. Most productions have about the same amount of content warnings and sensory warnings to go along with it, they’re just rarely explicitly written down. For some people, knowing these things ahead of time makes it easier to enjoy the show because they know what to expect. And, often, makes those people more likely to see it in the first place. I hope that it’s helpful! I am also happy to clarify any specifics, just send me a message or an email and I will respond when I can. Also please note that I make these while seeing a show for the first time, so I may miss some cues or be slightly off as to their placement/cue line!” ID in alt text & continued in comments #thenotebook #notebookbway #notebookbroadway #ingridmichaelson #photosensitivity #accessibledesign #review #broadway #disability #musicals #musicaltheatre #multihyphenate #accessibletheater #theateraccess #specialinterests #neurodivergent #nonbinary #disabledactor #sensoryprocessingdisorder #disabled #invisibledisability #actuallyautistic #trans #chronicpain #spoonie #chronicfatigue #migraines #disabledpride

I have two types of dysautonomia, POTS and NCS. Dysautonomia is an umbrella term used to describe several conditions ☔️ Types of dysautonomia include: 1. Neurocardiogenic syncope (NCS) 2. Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) 3. Familial dysautonomia (FD) 4. Multiple system atrophy (MSA) 5. Pure autonomic failure (PAF) 6. Pandysautonomia (Pandys) 7. Autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy (AAG) 8. Orthostatic intolerance (OI) 9. Neurally mediated hypotension (NMH) 10. Inappropriate sinus tachycardia (IST) Dysautonomia can occur as a primary condition (change in autonomic nervous system structure) or a secondary condition (caused by a primary condition, results in change of function). For example, FD is caused by a genetic mutation and is considered a primary form of dysautonomia. On the other hand, a person diagnosed with Ehler’s-Danlos Syndrome, a primary condition, may experience POTS; in this example POTS is considered secondary dysautonomia. Each of these conditions has their own unique diagnostic criteria, and as doctors and scientists continue to learn more about dysautonomia, these will likely change. Patients with dysautonomic experience a wide range of symptoms, including: fast heart rate, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, chronic pain, shortness of breath, sweating abnormalities, and more.’ ~Via: @profeshdogmom . . . - 📸 Via @profeshdogmom • (Dm for credit or removal / All rights® are reserved & belong to their respective owners) • ✔To order or see more products, 👉 Check the LINK IN OUR BIO👆 • • • • #fibromyalgiaawareness #chronicfatigue #fibromyalgiawarrior #migraine #mecfs #chronicallyill #chronicillnesswarrior #dysautomnia #edswarrior #chronicillnessfighter #invisiblenotimaginary #autonomicdysfunction #autonomicnervoussystem #chronicillnesssupport #potsproblems #chronicillnessadvocate #dysautonomiastrong #chronicmigrainewarrior #dysautonomiaproblems #potsielife

Numbers look good, but the fatigue I’m experiencing lately is immense. I can only describe it as “feeling like I’ve been hit by a bus”. I last left my flat on Sunday for a very short run. And I knew I’d face the consequences afterwards. Turns out I was right… 3 days later and my bones ache, I genuinely don’t have the energy to talk to people or do anything. I need some groceries today and the thought of getting dressed and walking to the shops was met by a big fat NO from my fatigued little body. Can we talk about the tax on being chronically ill? I did a small food shop on Deliveroo and spent £25 😅 I’m tired of being tired. No amount of sleep helps. My diet is good. I’m not deficient in anything. I think my body is just permanently broken. Chronic fatigue is not a joke. It seems I’m entering a new wave of grief realising my body can’t do what it used to be able to. And it’s so strange to be grieving for yourself. #chronicfatigue #diabetes #chronicfatigueawareness #chronicfatiguesyndrome #chronicallyill #chronicillness #spoonies #autoimmunecondition #health #lifestyle #freestylelibre

When you see me with my hair done and my make up on, don’t confuse my appearance as being cured or feeling better. I am simply a chronic pain and fibromyalgia artist, painting a scene, which allows me to blend into society’s expectations of looking “normal.” Wash away my make up, undo my hair, peel away my smile, and you will find a wealth of pain, silent sadness, and a deep, rooted fatigue that never ceases because Chronic illness repeats itself on a daily basis. So, if for today I choose to be an artist or magician to hide my illness, it does not mean I’m cured. Nor does it mean I’m better. It simply means I want to be seen as “normal” today… Peace, Love & Light, Kristal at The Fibromyalgia Pain Chronicles and Veteran Voices For Fibromyalgia #Fibromyalgia #FibromyalgiaAwareness #InvisibleIllness #ChronicIllness #Pain #ChronicPain #Fatigue #ChronicFatigue #Artist #Magic #Magician #ForYou #fyp #DontJudgeABookByItsCover #Invisible #LooksCanBeDeceiving #Veteran #Viral #Vets4Fibro .⁣ #fibromyalgiapodcast #fibropodcast #fibrocoach #fibromyalgiacoach #healthcoach #fibrowarrior #healthandwellness #spooniesisterhood #fibrolife

Gut health is a journey 🌿✨ With over 20 years in the wellness industry, I’ve gained invaluable insights. One of the most important lessons? Gut healing is multifactorial and requires physiological and psychological interventions. 💩🧠 It’s often not just about eating “healthy” or “clean,” but about fueling your body with foods that support YOUR unique gut needs.💪🏽 Remember, your gut won’t heal if it can’t digest certain foods optimally. Undigested particles become food for harmful microbes, leading to endotoxins like LPS that damage the gut lining and trigger inflammation 😓. Chronic symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, and autoimmunity are often traced back to this.🤕 Mitochondrial dysfunction and reduced cellular energy are at the heart of all chronic dis-ease.🪫 That’s why personalized nutrition is crucial for reducing inflammation and supporting gut healing. 🥗💪 Want to learn more? Repost from @kim.heintz • Is Your Liver Holding You Back? If you’re experiencing persistent fatigue, digestive issues, or unexplained weight gain, your liver might be the culprit. Despite its low profile compared to trendy health topics like hormone imbalances or gut health, the liver is a powerhouse organ essential to our overall well-being and deserves more attention in any health regimen. Here’s why optimizing liver function is vital: DETOXIFICATION The liver filters and eliminates harmful substances, toxins, and waste products from the body. METABOLISM It breaks down and stores nutrients for energy production and aids in weight management. NUTRIENT STORAGE AND RELEASE The liver stores essential nutrients and releases them when needed to keep the body functioning smoothly. BILE PRODUCTION AND DIGESTION It produces bile, which is crucial for efficient fat digestion and nutrient absorption. IMMUNE SYSTEM SUPPORT The liver helps remove pathogens, toxins, and damaged cells from the bloodstream, supporting the immune system. BLOOD CLOTTING It produces clotting factors necessary for normal blood clotting and preventing excessive bleeding. HORMONE REGULATION The liver metabolizes and removes hormones, maintaining hormonal balance. By optimizing liver function through a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, regular exercise, and avoiding harmful substances, you can enhance your body’s natural detoxification processes and reduce the risk of liver-related conditions and diseases. . . . . . #fatigue #adrenalfatiguerecovery #chronicfatigue #hormonehealing #guthealth #rootcauseprotocol #nutrientdefieciency #adultacne #acneprone #constipationrelief #constipationremedy #constipationsolution #bloatingproblems #bloatingsucks #liverhealth #liverdetox #hormonehealing #hormonehealth #hormoneimbalance

🕷️🌿 Stay Tick-Free This Season! 🌿🕷️ 1️⃣ Cover Up: Wear long sleeves, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. Tuck your pants into your socks to close any gaps where ticks could enter. 2️⃣ Use Repellents: Apply insect repellents containing DEET or Permethrin to your skin and clothing. DEET works on skin, while Permethrin is for clothes. 3️⃣ Tick Checks: After spending time outdoors, thoroughly check your body and clothing for ticks, especially behind the knees, underarms, scalp, and navel. 4️⃣ Check Your Pets: Don’t forget to check your pets for ticks too! 5️⃣ Yard Maintenance: Keep your yard mowed to decrease tick habitat. Patients with dysautonomic experience a wide range of symptoms, including: fast heart rate, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, heart palpitations, chronic pain, shortness of breath, sweating abnormalities, and more.' ~Via: @profeshdogmom . .

Acceptance is not giving up.  Honouring your limitations is not giving up. I spent over a decade pushing before I knew I had M.E and knew the harm I caused myself. It just made me worse. I can't fight this illness as it'll just make it worse. @ChronicallyBeing.Me I would've fought, pushed myself as far as needed if it would've helped. Believe me, what I'm doing is so much harder. @ChronicallyBeing.Me Having to watch life from the outside and accept the fact I'm slowly and painfully dying. But all fighting and pushing would give me is a quicker death. @ChronicallyBeing.Me

A different format for this month because unfortunately, my symptoms and abilities are the same as month 6 (see my previous post for more). Month 7 has been difficult. Especially as I was let go of my job on medical grounds. A job I loved and was doing well in. I’ve had some real lows with my mood and some new symptoms to manage such as TMJ pain. I know that my body is doing its best (I think!) so I have to be patient. #mecfs #postviralfatigue #postviralfatiguesyndrome #chronicillness #chronicillnesssupport #longcovidrecovery #longcovid #longcovidhauler #pwme #chronicfatigue #fatigue

@_she_rises_ ‘As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Psalm 43:1-3 We all know the feeling of longing for something that has passed, back when everything felt safer, easier. In this psalm, the poet compares the soul to a deer, an animal that is easily spooked and doesn’t easily find rest. Our souls are like that sometimes. The psalmist longs for the temple of God, where it is easier for him to have a passionate and intimate relationship with the Lord. Our spiritual life has a tendency to go through periods of highs and lows. The desire to be near to God can wane if we don’t listen to that quiet voice inside us, and even disappear completely if we ignore our spiritual thirst. We can become worn down, uninterested and drift further away from God. But even when we honestly seek Him, we can also be familiar with the question the author asks. Where is God? But we are then reminded to always put our hope in God. He is the One who can quench our thirst and fan the flames of our faith, so it stays active and alive. Let’s encourage each other to never lose hope, to eagerly anticipate the day that we will see the Lord. And when we go through a time of drought, doubt and restlessness, let’s remind ourselves to put our hope in God, fix our eyes on Jesus and steadfastly keep praising our Savior and our God. Prayer: Lord, awaken a thirst in me that only You can quench. Please let me drink of the living water, and teach me to live closely to You, so I will never be thirsty again. Holy Spirit, please dwell in my heart and impress Your words upon my soul, so I will never forget Your faithful promises. Amen.’

5/22/2024, 12:56:52 PM

When you’re “invisibly ill,” people tend to default to thinking you’re complaining for one of three reasons: 1. You’re looking for attention. 2. You’ve done it to yourself. 3. You’re a hypochondriac who has self-diagnosed with some unheard of illness that you can’t prove. Each of these assumptions are not only offensive, but really hurtful, especially when they come from people who are supposed to love and care about you. Time and time again, I’ve had to defend myself against unhelpful comments like: “But you don’t look sick.” “Maybe it’s your diet?” “Perhaps you should try a new sleeping pattern.” “Get some exercise!” People can’t understand invisible illnesses that they’ve never really heard of, and I generally don’t look “ill,” but some days if I’m in pain, dizzy or shattered, I can look very down –because let’s be honest, chronic illnesses really can play on your mental health and has done so for me. Sometimes I wish I had any other VISIBLE illness that people could sympathise with and understand, which is awful and I shouldn’t wish that on myself… but people’s opinions are one of the hardest parts of all of this. Why do we have to defend ourselves? Bodies malfunction, whether physically or mentally, and people are so reluctant to believe something they don’t understand or can’t see. We are not a liars, we are struggling through the hardest thing we’ve ever had to deal with.

Day 22: Wednesday Wellness These are a few of the things that help support my emotional wellbeing... ✨️Journaling every single day - a commitment to myself. I journal even if I don't want to; even if it's just a few words. ✨️Counselling - ongoing therapy continues to be a huge support. I have a check-in once a month now, but I know I could have it more often if I need it. ✨️Friends & online support groups - connecting with those that 'get it'. I have really loved discovering some online groups in the last few years. The Axial SpA support group on Facebook is a good place to connect with others with the same condition, but I've also found the most wonderful group of people at the Lovely Gathering, facilitated by @jamiecatto - it's been a real gift 💜 And then, last night, I joined the @spooniehangouts zoom call, which was a fun little meeting with fellow spoonies. I'm so grateful for so many spaces that offer support and connection, especially those online, as it can be difficult to get out and about all the time to meet people in person. #AxialSpALife

Repost from @allystar717 • Posted @withregram • hope4pwme Like Author Sarah Myhill says in her book, “Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Myalgic Encephalitis: It’s Mitochondria, Not Hypochondria” Imagine if you had a severe break to your right leg. You go to the emergency room and they accuse you of drug seeking, have you evaluated for suicidal intent, and then recommend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Exercise. They do not set or cast your leg. They give you no medication to treat the pain or inflammation. They offer no antibiotics to ward off infection. Unfortunately, that is how so many of us with chronic illness are treated. Especially those of us with ME/CFS. The majority of chronic illness is invisible. As in, there are no obvious outward signs the individual is suffering from chronic illness. It’s past time to consider how we are treating patients with invisible illness and change the level of care. ID: If I could tell you 1 thing. NO! ME/CFS is not a mental health disorder nor is it a functional disorder. YES! ME/CFS is a multi-system disease that causes dysfunction of the neurological, immune, endocrine, energy and metabolism systems. #invisibleillness #invisibleDisease #invisiblegirl #mecfs #myalgicE #cfs #chronicfatiguesyndrome #longcovid #postcovidsyndrome #believeInME #spoonielife #ChronicFatigue #ChronicIllness #MECFSAwareness #millionsmissing

I remember the times, where all I needed when I left the house was my phone, credit card, ID, keys and a bit cash. I didn't like big handbags - or wearing handbags at all. I love backpacking, to travel just with handluggage, was proud to say how adaptable I am and how easy to please. Now I need forever to get out of bed and get ready. I never know with clothes are that day ok on my skin, if I'm not randomly sweating or freezing; so I might have to change several times. I need to know in advance how illuminated, loud and crowded the place will be, if they serve food (if yes what kind of), where the next toilets are, if I can leave from there alone... ⭐️ Alles Gute weiterhin. #longcovid #chronicillness #mecfs #covid #longcovidrecovery #spoonie #chronicpain #pots #chronicfatigue #chronicfatiguesyndrome #potssyndrome #fibromyalgia #postcovid #invisibleillness #longcovidawareness #dysautonomia #millionsmissing #spoonielife #brainfog #longcovidsymptoms #cfs #chronicillnesswarrior #me #fatigue #longhaulers

I struggled with 20 years of fluctuating Hashimoto’s autoimmune symptoms, and 7 of those years were with chronic fatigue syndrome (MECFS), caused by glandular fever/EBV, and ongoing stress from caring for my late husband Matthew when he was diagnosed with Young Onset Dementia in 2013. He passed away in 2015 at age 36🌻 The MECFS symptoms developed leading up to the period that Matt started to show signs of Young Onset Dementia, got worse through the stresses of his rapid declining health while caring for him for almost two years, and continued long after he passed away 🌻 In hindsight, I think caring for Matthew and being driven to learn and understand everything that was going on with him, so I could advocate for him and try to understand something that was pretty unfathomable, was the tiny spark that led me to where I am today 🌻 I could not help Matt 🌻 I couldn’t save him 🌻 I felt helpless 🌻 I couldn’t find his answers 🌻 I felt out of control 🌻 Despite how terribly unwell I was, and how I felt like actual death…I was not dead 🌻 I was alive and Matt wasn’t, and I could not let his death be in vain 🌻 Because, in all honesty, he would kill me if I did 😌😉 So I set out to live again for the both of us, and I have 🌻 I have been fully recovered for 3 years now and maintaining it well 👏🏻🥰 No-one else healed me… …I healed myself 🌻 Although there were other people involved in my recovery who supported me, I was the driver of it! I didn’t wait for someone or something to help me, and not once did I believe I couldn’t recover 🌻 I could have said “no that’s all too hard” or listened to my doctor who told me “You’ll just have to manage it” 🌻 But I chose to listen to my instincts which told me there had to be something more I could do to help myself at home, to find balance again ⚖️ I’m glad I didn’t listen to the GP because I may still be stuck in a chronic illness cycle that fed itself 🌻 YOU are in control of your health and you CAN find your balance🌻 You are not alone 🌻 You CAN recover 🌻 📚 My full recovery story out now: From Chronic To Cured by Terese Millhouse. 3 types of insomnia: Onset Characterised by a difficulty of falling asleep initially. Can lay there awake for hours before falling asleep. Maintenance Characterised by waking during the night or early morning before enough sleep has been had. There is often difficulty returning to sleep once awake. Mixed Characterised with both of the difficulties above of initiating sleep and maintaining it. Good sleep is key for our health and longevity. If you aren’t sleeping well, it’s important to look into how you can improve this. Your acupuncturist’s job is to figure out how to help you restore a better Yin Yang / sleep wake rhythm.
