An ode to women. This resonated with me so deeply because my last journey with #bufo was all about forgiving and holding space for all the past versions of me. The mistakes are part of the journey and it couldn't be without them. It's okay. I love you. I honor you. It was something I struggled with and have observed for so long anf am finally able to release. My journeys always bring a new lesson. Emotions can quickly get the best of us and for many can be a trigger. They are an inevitable part of life though and we need to learn to work through them - not to numb ourselves. These tips help me in feeling and managing my emotions. Remember it’s normal to feel all emotions - positive and negative. Having negative emotions does not make you a bad person. It means you’re human. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep and getting quality sleep. I’m a big proponent of taking magnesium, investing in blackout curtains and white noise or a fan. Make time for getting things off your mind. I like to journal. Others will draw, make videos or talk with a friend. Practice meditation and mindfulness. These actions help you become more aware of your thoughts and emotions. Use bad to create good. If you’re feeling angry - use it as fuel tommake a positive change. Exercise, clean the house, etc. Remember that you’re a human, not a robot. You were designed to feel things and that isn’t a bad thing. Deep down inside, you know when you’re lying to yourself. You know the difference between the relief that comes with acknowledging an inconvenient truth, and the tension that comes with holding onto a more palatable lie. I get it, though—sometimes half-truths are easier to stomach. They roll off the tongue more easily. They can help you to ignore your flaws. You can use them to feel better about your past. You can use them pin all of your misfortunes on other people, places, or circumstances. But half-truths will never be anything more than comfortable band-aids. They might cover up your pain, guilt, and shame—but they won’t help you to grow or heal. They won’t empower you to release the negative feelings that you’re holding on to about the darkest chapters of your story. They tie you to the moments you’re working to cover up, instead of freeing you to move on, in full. We’ve all told ourselves half-truths that have helped us to survive our darkest seasons. And that makes sense—we are programmed to seek approval from others, and to need approval from ourselves. But applause rings hollow when it is based on a version of yourself that exists in direct contradiction with the version of yourself that you have to live with. You are only as liberated as you are integrated. Do you agree? I wouldn't be able to do the work I'm doing today if the practice of integration wasn't central to my journey. We are in resistance when we are fragmented. We self sabotage when we are fragmented. Our shadow runs the show when we are fragmented. We feel unable to heal when we are fragmented. We run from love when we are fragmented. We keep the heart closed when we are fragmented. I think you get the point. At the core of most of our suffering there is fragmentation. The antidote to fragmentation is integration. And your own love is what brings all the parts together. Life itself is the ultimate balancing mechanism. It will keep highlighting through external circumstances the parts of you that you run from until you are able to love them. And when you do that it frees you. My personal rule of thumb is that for every intersection of your life where you feel stuck, there are a collection of parts that you get to integrate in order to move forward. And so far it hasn't failed me yet. Is it always easy? No. Is it liberating? Absolutely. Several years ago, I launched the first cohort of a group experience: INTEGRATE. THE VIEW Recently, I've been grappling with shame and guilt as I've stumbled in my personal growth goals. 📸 This photo captures two perspectives: 1. My view of myself 2. How others see me Our self-perception often aligns with the image we project to others, leading to feelings of guilt and shame. Yet, GOD's VIEW of us differs greatly! When we falter yet strive to improve, this is GOD's view: Psalm 103:8-12 - God's love surpasses our faults. 1 John 1:9 - He forgives and purifies us. Deep down inside, you know when you’re lying to yourself. You know the difference between the relief that comes with acknowledging an inconvenient truth, and the tension that comes with holding onto a more palatable lie. I get it, though—sometimes half-truths are easier to stomach. They roll off the tongue more easily. They can help you to ignore your flaws. You can use them to feel better about your past. You can use them pin all of your misfortunes on other people, places, or circumstances. But half-truths will never be anything more than comfortable band-aids. They might cover up your pain, guilt, and shame—but they won’t help you to grow or heal. They won’t empower you to release the negative feelings that you’re holding on to about the darkest chapters of your story. They tie you to the moments you’re working to cover up, instead of freeing you to move on, in full. We’ve all told ourselves half-truths that have helped us to survive our darkest seasons. And that makes sense—we are programmed to seek approval from others, and to need approval from ourselves. But applause rings hollow when it is based on a version of yourself that exists in direct contradiction with the version of yourself that you have to live with. Pause. Rest. Reset. Restart. Journal #27 As I sit in one corner of my room, pen in hand and heart open, I find myself reflecting on the truths that life has whispered to me in the quiet moments of pause. Stopping doesn’t mean surrendering—it’s a declaration of my need to gather my strength, not a white flag of defeat. When I stop, I’m not giving up; I’m giving myself the chance to breathe deeply, to re-assess my path and to forge ahead with renewed strength. Distance, too, speaks in subtle tones. It doesn’t signal the end of connection but rather a shift in how connection manifests. It’s a space that allows for growth, for the nurturing of self, and for the seeds of change to take root. Just because someone or something feels far away doesn’t mean it’s gone; sometimes, the space is needed to see the bigger picture. In my experience, I have learned that those who have brought me pain, intentionally or not, cannot heal me. The hands that tore down the walls of my peace cannot be the ones to rebuild them. This realization isn’t steeped in bitterness but in a deep understanding that healing starts from within, from a place only I can reach. This path of healing isn’t linear; it’s filled with pauses—moments where all I can do is rest. Rest is not idleness, but a sacred act of preparation for the next chapter. It’s in these pauses that I reset my intentions, realign my dreams and prepare to restart my journey with a clearer vision and a lighter heart. As I continue to this road, I am learning to embrace the pauses and the distances as my teachers. They remind me that every moment of stop and every stretch of space has a purpose. They teach me resilience, infuse me with patience and fortify my spirit. So, as I write this reflection, I am not distracted by the pauses and the spaces in my life. Instead, I am grateful for their lessons. I understand now more than ever that to pause is not to cease moving forward and to create distance is not to lose but to gain perspective. You are only as liberated as you are integrated. Do you agree? I wouldn't be able to do the work I'm doing today if the practice of integration wasn't central to my journey. We are in resistance when we are fragmented. We self sabotage when we are fragmented. Our shadow runs the show when we are fragmented. We feel unable to heal when we are fragmented. We run from love when we are fragmented. We keep the heart closed when we are fragmented. I think you get the point. At the core of most of our suffering there is fragmentation. The antidote to fragmentation is integration. And your own love is what brings all the parts together. Life itself is the ultimate balancing mechanism. It will keep highlighting through external circumstances the parts of you that you run from until you are able to love them. And when you do that it frees you. My personal rule of thumb is that for every intersection of your life where you feel stuck, there are a collection of parts that you get to integrate in order to move forward. And so far it hasn't failed me yet. Is it always easy? No. Is it liberating? Absolutely. Several years ago, I launched the first cohort of a group experience: INTEGRATE. When you keep doing what you have always done you will keep getting the results you've always had. And yet, it can be so difficult to create a REAL change without a step-by-step guide. The things we said - or didn't say. And all of that is keeping us stuck. The truth is, at some point you’ll have to let go of the expectations you’ve carrying about who you were supposed to be, so that you can fully appreciate the beautiful person you’ve become. You’ll have to look in the mirror without flinching. You’ll have to meet yourself where you’re at. You’ll have to humble yourself before you can free yourself. And when you do, you’ll see that the mistakes you were trying to avoid ended up becoming some of the most important parts of your story. The mistakes showed you when it was time to pivot. The mistakes pushed you to imagine better ways of existing. the mistakes brought you face to face with the fullness of who you are. The mistakes weren’t just inevitable—they were necessary. The truth is, at some point you’ll have to accept that perfection is a myth. For the sake of your own healing and happiness, you’ll need to understand that radical self-acceptance is the way forward. You’ll have to commit to loving yourself through every mistake and misstep. When you find yourself being overly critical or hard on yourself, pause in that moment. It’s ok to sit with those thoughts and feeling for a minute, but then challenge yourself to redirect.💫 Show yourself love and compassion, because you deserve it 🧡 Give yourself the grace to make mistakes, learn from them, and grow.
