I know Mother’s Day posts on Insta are just supposed to be mimosas & gifts & pancakes in bed. But I’m a scorpio & I can’t help but know that there are mothers crying in the bathroom right now because their husband forgot to get them anything. Mothers having a panic attack because the kids won’t stop screaming. Mothers canceling their plans because they don’t fit into any of their clothes anymore. Mothers doing mental math while they eat brunch to figure out how they’re going to pay the rent this month. Mothers holding their hungry children & trying to put on a strong face. Mothers caring for their sick babies. Mothers heartbroken because their own mothers never bothered to mother them. The Divine Mother has thousands of faces & so do we. Motherhood is so often brutal. Often tears your soul open & leaves you feeling destroyed. But it tears you open to fill you with love & compassion. The love & compassion that the Divine Mother feels for humanity. A Somatic Approach on Motherhood I want to share an image, I just had, connected to the journey of motherhood: >>Imagine yourself being in the womb of your mother. Or imagine your body in the womb of the body of your mum and how there is safety, security and comfort. Reconnect to this really beginning of your existence and this beauty and nourishment you received from ever since. It might look different in many ways. But be sure about this: growing into someone‘s body means that you are cared for – a lifetime long. This is what is a natural process, every women experiences when she brings a child to this earth in her body. Being a Mother myself I can definetely say, that giving and doing my best from the beginning to my daughter, from the moment I had received her in my womb, was not always easy and a journey of many Up’s and Down’s. Many times I „failed“ and couldn‘t show up for her in the way I wished for. BUT I am trying every single day to do the best I can and to be there – holding, caring, nurturing, loving, accepting, breathing… and so much more. And I can say, it is one of the greatest tasks and responsibilities. I truly know from my heart that all the mum‘s on this earth are doing the best and live, feel, sense, think, worry and love for their children every single day. It is nature‘s given present that any Mum carries inside. Let‘s all be grateful to this life we got to experience through the portal and the nourishing and caring bodies of our mum. Through their dedication. Especially if we still are not fully in peace with our childhood, our relation to ourselves. Let us imagine this big womb we were born into, this home our mom gave us with all her selfless care and dedication from the very beginning of our existence in this human body.
