So it’s taken me a couple of days . . . . because the last few days have been shocking, hard, and have involved a lot of praying and processing. . If you have not heard the news, Beautycounter as we have all known and loved it has ceased to exist. With so much information and so many questions floating around, I wanted you to hear directly from me. . First, I want to share the facts. Gregg Renfrew, creator and CEO of Beautycounter, sold to a private equity firm several years ago in order to build the brand and expand safe products to everyone. Unfortunately, not long after the sale, they asked Gregg to step down and managed the company in completely different direction. A variety of poor internal management decisions were made, the mission to organically share safe products was lost, and this lead to the eventual foreclosure of Beautycounter. . In the eleventh hour, Gregg was brought back in as CEO. When she fully realized the state of affairs, she was given the option to purchase the company back or let it dissolve. She and several private investors took a leap of faith and have purchased the business back. She has currently created a new corporation and is in the process of repurchasing the products and assets. She had high hopes to reopen quickly, but there is far more work and negotiations necessary to relaunch Beautycounter in the right way. . The goal is to relaunch Beautycounter in the 4Q of 2024. We are hopeful this is the case, but I cannot personally guarantee the timeline or the future of the company. I am praying for Gregg, the company, the employees, and consultants who have all been heavily affected. Praying in a short time, Beautycounter can relaunch with a fresh start. . There is so much buzz and so many opinions and perspectives online right now. I understand and truly have grace for all involved. Because so many ministers use partial truths to talk about their standing with God, it’s difficult for Christians to grasp that Jesus is the only standard God has given to measure our faith. 👉 God is challenging the foundation of that trust in partial truths because it’s built upon shifting sand theology. (Titus 2: 12) Are you saying YES to people, to things, to events, and to situations that you know you should be saying NO to? In Deuteronomy 30:19 God said, "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make." Are the choices you make leading you to those blessings or away from them? That's a question that our flesh never wants to think about, but if we're asking God to bless us, or to open doors for us, or to make a way out of no way, then we have to ask ourselves that question and we also have to realize that the choices we make always lead to destinations. The destinations can be to the place we been asking God to take us or they can be to the places we brought ourselves. Bad choices brought me to places in life that led to much regret. This led to regret becoming a stronghold in my mind. I thank God for His delivering power! God expects us to have not just a change of heart once we get saved but also a change of mind. He expects us to say NO to those things which He hates and He also expects us to see the traps of the enemy which lie in wait in the very things we should be saying NO to. Am I saying to resist the desires of the flesh is easy? Of course not! But it's not the hardest thing to do either. GRATITUDE. Something that comes with age and wisdom is the recognition that the universe really does respond to living in gratitude. The first thing I do when I wake in the morning is give thanks to my higher power and my “Team of Light” for all my blessings. Often, I feel so blessed by the universe and my higher power it brings me to happy tears. I read from my late partner’s “Jesus Calling, devotions for every day of the year”. One I just read on May 5th reads, “Come into My Presence with thanksgiving, for thankfulness opens the door to My treasures. When you are thankful, you affirm the central truth that I am Good. I am the Light, in whom there is no darkness at all. Come to Me with confident expectation. There is nothing you need that I cannot provide.” Psalm 95:2: John 1:5 I am not a religious person, but I am very spiritual. In the Christian context, faith is the assurance of things hoped and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). It’s trusting in God‘s promises, believing that he is faithful to fulfill them, even when circumstances may seem uncertain or challenging. I would like to believe that most of what people say to those who are grieving or experiencing pain or depression, comes from a well meaning place. But grief and illness and mental health often have no rule book. And no two people are exactly the same nor will they process or walk their journey in the same way. Did Jesus teach that the result of His death, burial, and resurrection was monetary wealth, health, and a life free of suffering for His followers? The prosperity gospel teaches that by faith in Jesus one will have financial abundance, wealth, and health in this life. However, we see Jesus’ own words to His disciples, 👉🏼“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world” (John 16:33). The argument isn’t against having material possessions, but within the prosperity gospel, possessions are the goal interwoven with WHY we should believe in Jesus. On the other hand, the true biblical Gospel teaches that Jesus’ death and resurrection offer forgiveness of sin and right relationship with God. It does not exclude the poor, nor does it promise that the poor will become wealthy in this life. Sadly, people who are under the prosperity gospel deception often end up bitter against God because they’re promised (by man) a luxurious life, so when trials and tribulations come, they figure “God isn’t real” or, “this Christianity thing isn’t it” or, “I don’t have enough faith”. Cultivating Self-Acceptance: Embracing who we are, flaws and all, allows us to love ourselves unconditionally.
