Yesterday I went to The Espresso Bar as I was going to meet a friend that evening and needed to get more work done. ✅ My awareness and speaking up gifted these beautiful hearts. See the barista gave me extra change back and I said something about. She told me thanks for noticing and that she felt heard/seen. It is so important to say the things you notice as you never know how it can make someone’s day. With having been in the service industry and working double shifts, I know the importance of being aware. I am grateful for helping someone else feel seen and heard. We have a wonderful WOR alumni story for you today! @junecotner tells us how Emma brought light to their life at a sad time. "The story of Emma begins with the story of Indy, a Chocolate lab/Doberman mix, our 13-year-old beloved companion, who was also a rescue dog. Unbeknownst to us, just as Indy had crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, our little Emma had recently taken a crossing of her own. She was flown from an overcrowded shelter in California to Washington state with the wonderful group, @wingsofrescue. Indy passed away on January 3, 2024. Emma arrived at @foreverhomedogrescue on December 16, 2023. So, as we said our final goodbyes to Indy and experienced heartbreaking loss, our little Emma was sitting in a kennel in Edmonds, WA, waiting for her Forever Home. After Indy died, while we were grieving his loss tremendously, I also felt an overwhelming desire to help another rescue dog. There’s a passage by Kent C. Greenough in my book, ANIMAL BLESSINGS, that gave me perspective: “As painful as it is to lose them [pets], they teach us to love unselfishly, they teach us to live each day to the fullest, they teach us how to grow old gracefully, and they teach us how to die with dignity. We do them a disrespect to focus only on the sorrow of their death when they have given us so much joy through their life. If we wish to honor them, take what they have given us, all that love, and give it back to another animal in need of help.” That passage came to me, over and over, in the days after Indy died. I couldn’t stop looking at rescue dogs online. I came across a German Shepherd being cared for by Forever Home Dog Rescue. We made an appointment to see her. At the facility, we were given the opportunity to walk her, and I realized she was too powerful for me. Next, we tried a Shepherd mix, who was also too strong for me. So, they brought out little Emma, a Borgi (a Border Collie/Corgi mix), and she was just right! I felt a bond and connection with her right away. On January 13, 2024, we adopted Emma. However I think that the more noble act would have been to, after turning the blind eye, guide them away from the sin they committed. Guide them to repentance so that they can approach the throne of grace and receive mercy for their sins. So after they repent they can be freed from the guilt and find forgiveness. This way life will be much more likely to be led towards what is true as they have told the truth that they tried to hide. It’s easy to live in the truth and much better as this way you never forget. He is the truth, the way and the life so why not be anywhere else but there. The truth feels like love. So heart warming and healing pains that were unseen. It’s like running into the bosom of God and holding on so tight to his melting hugs. The truth always feels good as it’s a release from the tension you’ve been holding inside that creates a catastrophe in the intestines. Let go of the lies and open your eyes to what the truth holds for you. Stay focused on these kind of things. Mainly meditate on the love that’s is generated from all these things. That’s what we have to realise most that God is love. He mingles there and aligns all of man kind there. Make that seed grow by always showing it love. By feeding it, taking care of it, talking to it, guiding it, noticing it. Love resonates there. Focus on that time when you first realised that God loves you and you love God. Prayer there often and let that be your heart. Watch how much God will grow from that moment. Hey world, it’s been awhile. I debated sharing what’s been going on, but I believe you can be vulnerable publicly and still protect your privacy. In late January someone in my life had a massive psychotic break and began terrorizing me and my girls until we were forced to flee our home. They threatened to kill me and my parents, and actually tried to kill my girls 🐶🐶🤬 They continued their threats and deranged behavior for months. We went into hiding and put our home on the market. The only thing I’ve focused on is our safety and I ghosted pretty much everyone. Even bikes and hikes became non-existent. But because the universe has my six, I’m overjoyed to report that I not only sold my house super fast, but I bought our gorgeous forever home too 🐶🐶😍 I mean, I even need huge ass landscaping equipment 💃🏼 We are safe, ready to find our joy again, and eager to embrace this fresh new start. The details of what I went through and the person responsible for it deserve zero airtime, and I am using every resource available to keep us safe. This experience, while devastating, reminded me just how BRAVE and STRONG and how incredibly LOVED I am. It also serendipitously catapulted us to exactly where we should be. One of my favorite sayings is “Let it hurt. Let it bleed. Let it heal. And let it go.” And right now I fall somewhere in-between all that - but my girls and I are ready to spend our time reconnecting to everything and everyone we love, and turning this amazing new house into our home ❤️ Thank you to my parents for being my sanctuary, my rocks. An honour to paint the pure joy of Veronique, a woman I met on my recent trip to DRC. ✨ I heard a lot of heartbreaking stories during my visit with refugees but also witnessed moments of deep joy, resilience and triumph, made all the more poignant because of the pain experienced along the way. In this moment, Vero, as she introduced herself, was celebrating her new home. After years of displacement and time in Angola as a refugee, Vero, who had been identified as especially vulnerable, was finally moving from a temporary settlement to new housing shelter project with her 4 children. I had the honour of handing over the keys! There has been a lot to process about this trip. Painting has helped. Vero’s spirit reminded me to be grateful for a home and how precious it is to have shelter, something many displaced people in DRC desperately need. After spending literally whole His life trying to show us how to attain heaven on earth and the illusion of the matrix in which we live (we are all eternal spiritual being, connected to Source, creating an human experience, dressed in a flesh suit and there for cannot die etc.) And that all the emphasis of his journey, is on the shittiest part: The cross and the crucifixion.
