Looking north to Harbour Street from present-day Queens Quay, east of York Street, #onthisday in 1926 (May 5) Here we see TTC workers laying a temporary streetcar track leading to the ferry docks. This line was built on lands recently reclaimed from Toronto harbour through a large infill project. Visible just behind the workers are a Kirkland Line shipping warehouse and the Toronto Harbour Commission building, which both originally sat on wharves jutting out into Lake Ontario. The former Harbour Commission Building still stands today, soon to be incorporated into a condo development.
