Toronto police are probing a shooting outside Drake’s Bridle Path mansion early Tuesday, according to a CP24 source. One man sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Police tape and patrol cars surrounded the rap superstar’s residence near Park Lane Circle and Post Road. I met Sachin, the wonderful and kind owner of this local spot, whose father came out with the fried chicken recipe. What really stood out here is that chicken is always made fresh. Our chicken came out piping hot, juicy, and incredibly crispy. They allow their chicken to marinate for 24 hours. The flavours truly penetrated the meat well. DEFINITELY go for the Nashville chicken sandwich. It's sweet and has a spicy kick. I love how crispy their chicken is! Their potato wedges are a must order. It's made with the same batter and is fried to perfection. Don't forget the mini donuts! It's so unique for a fried chicken spot and they're so tasty. In 1994, The Prophecy was born. Marcus Visionary decided that campus-based, community radio was the closest thing we had to pirate radio, and that the booming jungle scene in Toronto was too big not be aired on a weekly basis. First airing on CKLN 88.1fm, it moved to its current home on CIUT 89.5fm the following year, and since become the longest running drum-n-bass radio show on Earth. Marcus and Prime led the show through the glory years of Toronto DnB radio, which also included Renegade Airwaves and The Rinse Out, among others. In addition to the now globally legendary Easter Sunday episode with Shy FX, Skibadee and Fearless, The Prophecy featured appearances but such guests as DJ SS, Mampi Swift, Shabba D, TC Islam, as well as Toronto’s finest DJ’s, MC’s, and producers. When Marcus made the decision to move on in order to focus on his show on Kool FM, among other things, Mr. Brown took the reins. The show evolved as the technology that drove drum-n-bass evolved. Other hosts joined the rotation, and the sounds on display diversified. But through it all, The Prophecy remained on the radio airwaves, outside the corporate radio system, maintaining its place as the must-listen show in Toronto. 2024 is our 30th year. 3 continuous decades of drum-n-bass culture on Toronto radio, non-stop.
