Like look how colourful our bowls are 😍 We both got them with brown rice and it was actually those purple grain rice 👀 I ordered the California Dreaming while my mom got the Little Island. I was a fan of the seaweed salad and the avocado gave that extra creaminess. My bowl basically tasted like California sushi roll 😂 My mom liked the dressing of my poké bowl more 🤭 She found her dressing to be too sweet, but you could def taste the ginger. Her bowl came with a good amount of shiitake and tofu medley 🍄🟫 Also the packaging is so cute 😍 but I heard the portions are a bit smaller with this new packaging? 🥲 Would order again if I’m looking for something quick and healthy!

📍 @sinjeon_canada My fav restaurant to get tteokbokki 😍 I went to Sinjeon Topokki twice within two weeks 😆 ᴏʀᴅᴇʀ: 🥢 Creamy Carbonara Topokki ($13.99) 🥢 Sinjeon Original Topokki ($10.99) 🥢 Rosé Topokki ($12.99) 🥢 Kimari Seaweed Rolls ($3.99 for 3 pcs) 🥢 Cheese Sticks ($4.99 for 5 pcs) 🥢 Tuna Mayo Rice Bowl ($10.99) ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ: ⭐️ Cream Carbonara Topokki 8.5/10 - My fave topokki to order 🤤 I had this at the Bloor location and it wasn’t spicy at all. I know that at the Church location the standard spice level is 1.5 and you can taste some heat 🧐 Either way, it’s my go-to order as the carbonara sauce is so good and it already comes with extra toppings (sausage, mushroom, onions). ⭐️ Rosé Topokki 8/10 - I ordered the level 1 spice and since the sauce is creamy the spice level was just right! I liked how their rosé sauce wasn’t particularly sweet, it was a good balance. I found the rice cakes to be even more soft than the sinjeon original. ⭐️ Sinjeon Original Topokki 7.8/10 - I ordered mild spice level and it was definitely enough for my spice tolerance 😂 I liked how the sauce wasn’t very sweet and I paired most of the deep fried appetizers with it. The sauce was more runny tho; I prefer it to be thicker so it coats the rice cakes and appetizers nicely. ⭐️ Seaweed Rolls 8/10 - They were nice, crispy and thick with a lot of glass noodle filling! I love kimari in general and this hits the spot. I wished it was more pieces for the price 🥲 ⭐️ Cheese Sticks 7.5/10 - I had some good cheese pulls with some of the bites 🤤 They were your average cheese sticks, nice to munch on and dip in the tteokbokki sauce with. ⭐️ Tuna Mayo Bowl 8.5/10 - The tuna made the rice much more nice and creamy. It was delicious on its own but also tasted great with some tteokbokki sauce. Service was very good at both the Bloor and Church locations! I love how spacious the new location on Bloor St W is and that they also have a pocha menu! 😍 I’d definitely come by the Bloor location again to also try their new menu items like seotteok-seotteok and jjapaghetti.

An absolutely fantastic Toronto dining experience that we put off for far too long! @jabistro222 had been on our list for a while until we finally made a weekend reso on our first free weekend night. Sitting at the chefs counter is always a plus for me - especially with the skill and craftsmanship required for this menu! All of the fish was so fresh and melted in your mouth. I didn't capture the omakase tasting menu as we went piece by piece with an explanation of each course before trying them (and they would be long gone before I could snap a pic or write them down)! Before we left the table I knew I had a new favourite (fancy) sushi restaurant. The cocktails were perfectly balanced and exciting, while still executing the classics perfectly. Went to @villamadina after ages & was reminded of highschool days when we didn’t have that many halal options. I think Villa Madina has improved from before and added new things on their menu. It was nice to see saj wraps on their menu! Here are some things I tried: •Chicken Saj Wrap: Tasted nice with pomegranate molasses drizzled on! • Kefta + Shish Taouk Platter w Rice & Garlic Potatoes: The kefta was actually pretty decent! We tried their: ▪️Not-So-Light Start ($14) 🍳 ▪️Smash Bowl ($16) 🍲 My friend has a gluten allergy, so she was able to get gluten free toast for the Not-So-Light Start dish. In addition to the toast, it comes with 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, and home fries. I had the Smash Bowl and it tasted pretty good with the home fries mixed with the guac, salsa, beans, veggies, and smashed chickpeas. Overall, we both liked our food and the place wasn’t too busy when we visited on a Saturday afternoon, so it’s a great place to catch up with friends or family.
