push day today was absolutely RIDICULOUS 😂☠️ Tons of direct shoulder work, lots of pushing to failure and a lot of short rest periods for an insane pump. the little vein on my left shoulder definitely wanted to come out to play 🥲 Feeling good to be back to a traditional upper / lower split - I’m feeling less fatigued overall and it’s much more manageable for me. As much as I LOVED powerlifting - I was not recovering in the ways I needed to. And 2024 is all about honoring my body and LISTENING to what it tells me. Can’t wait to see where these shoulders are at in 6 months 🤪

SAVE 📌 for a Strong & Supple upper body . You dont have to have one or the other, trust me . And these are just some of the movements in my repertoire that I use and of course, I use with my clients . Lets take a look: . 1️⃣ Slam ball throws - for explosive power through the upper body. Plus, a great way to release tension through the traps / scapulas as you “let go” . 2️⃣S/A shrug- this strengthens the trap muscles. Can often be weak (with a potential feeling of tightness) so integral to train them as they elevate and depress the scapula . 3️⃣ Landmine press - can be a useful alternative to a shoulder press as many struggle with that overhead position. This requires less range of motion, yet still maintains and improves the health of the scapulas . 4️⃣Offset press ups - a firm favourite upper body of mine! Allows you to “sit into the bottom” of the push up position and improve range of motion through the chest . Feel free to like and SAVE .
