I found my balance many years ago (about 6, to be precise) and have been sticking to it since then, slightly changing things from time to time when I feel like it. •I work out every morning (functional training, mixing strength and cardio; no equipment, all exercises with my body weight). •My diet is mostly plant-based (sometimes, chicken, eggs, plain yogurt). Because THIS makes me feel my best. A few kind reminders: •Start with educating yourself on human anatomy and nutrition (at least the basics—the lack of knowledge is harmful). Don’t be afraid to experiment (try new exercises/workouts/foods/cooking techniques), prioritize your mental and physical health, and be patient. Don’t compare your results with someone else’s. •You can’t exercise your way out of a bad diet—the amount and quality of food you eat define 70% of your physique. •Everyone’s anatomy is different. For example, the rectus abdominis (those 6-pack muscles) may look different on people even if they follow the same diet/exercise plan. •You have to find your own balance (lifestyle) that works for your body (and mind), not copying from others just because you like the results they demonstrate.

Just some useful side-to-side movements from yesterday's workout 😊 - Lateral Half Snatch - Deadstop Lateral Clean & Squat - Side Lunge I used to only do side lunges with goblet holds, but I'll occasionally use an assisted racked hold like I did here. The goblet hold seems a bit superior since it forces to be more upright, leading better range of motion (not sure why this is the case). Regardless, they're both good. As always, Habits over motivation. Systems over goals. They can be more challenging than they look 👀 ⁣ Adjust the difficulty by going slower and kicking your legs out completely at the bottom.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 2️⃣ 𝐒𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐎𝐑 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐒⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Have your legs straight in front of you then criss cross them.⁣ ⁣ Adjust the difficulty by keeping your legs close to the ground, keeping them completely straight and moving slower.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 3️⃣ 𝐅𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐊𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐒 ⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Have your legs straight in front of you then kick up and down.⁣ ⁣ Adjust the difficulty by keeping your legs close to the ground, keeping them completely straight and moving slower.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ 4️⃣ 𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐁𝐔𝐆𝐒⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Make sure your lower back has no gap with the ground.⁣ ⁣ Imagine there’s a rolled up towel underneath and your job is create tension against the towel. ⁣ Move in a contralateral pattern meaning you will use opposite limbs for the movement. ⁣ Your right arm comes back while your left leg kicks out at the same time then reverse the movement. ⁣ 5️⃣ 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐃 𝐃𝐎𝐆𝐒 ⁣ ⁣ Be on your hands and knees then move in a contralateral pattern where your right arm comes out and left leg kicks back.⁣ ⁣ The key here is to make sure your ribs are tucked in so your lower back doesn’t arch.⁣ ⁣ This drill is great for balance and stability as well.⁣ ⁣ 6️⃣ 𝐑𝐔𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝗪𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐒 ⁣ ⁣ Be on your back and bring your left knee towards your right elbow and then right knee towards your left elbow.⁣ ⁣ Move slowly rather than going fast.⁣ ⁣ You’re going for tension and not speed for this and all the previous exercises. ⁣ Make sure to follow @adrianleungfit on Instagram for more workout tutorials ✔️ #abs #abworkout #abexercises #puremuscle #puremuscleandfitness
