Advanced core circuit 🍫 I talk about 3 main areas of the core, the transverse abdominis, rectus abdominis and the obliques. This circuit primarily focuses on the rectus abdominis which is the outermost layer of the core in the front (the abs we tend to see on people who are very lean) I’ve mixed up some upper and lower abdominal exercises so that you can really feel the burn here!! If you are postpartum and have diastasis recti, do ensure that you take a diaphragmatic breath first, draw the naval towards your spine, releasing all the air, and then continue to complete the exercise being mindful of your transverse abdominis engagement. 1. Tabeltop crunches 20 reps 2. Single sided bicycle crunch (both sides) 10 reps each side 3. Alternating bicycles 20 reps total 4. Russian twist (begin first with your feet on the ground and lift if it feels good) you can add weight to these as well if you need an extra challenge! 20 reps total 5. Elbow supported alternating leg lifts 20 reps total 6. Double leg lifts 10 reps 7. ⚫️𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ⚫️ ⠀ One of the biggest questions I get, especially from moms is how can I get a tighter core and lose that pouch? ⠀ Realistically you cannot spot train, you must shed excess weight through nutrition, boosting your metabolism and building muscle. ⠀ Although there isn’t a whole lot that can be done naturally for loose skin (since making room for a human to grow in your belly can sometimes do that! 😆), increasing muscle definition can diminish the appearance of it. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸: ⠀ ✅ forces core to engage the whole time AND works on the deeper core muscles ✅engages small stabilizer muscle often missed with other workouts ✅recruits more muscle groups to work at the same time ✅improves stability ⠀ ⠀ 𝗦𝗔𝗩𝗘, 𝘁𝗮𝗴 📌𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 30 seconds each movement (1st one for each side) for 2 rounds, rest 30 seconds at end of round 1 ⠀ 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿: ⠀ ANY cycle: incorporate core training throughout the month. It's Fri-yay - and that means it's also an Active Recovery Day!  My Core Circuit was only 2 exercises, but since they were unilateral, it was really like 4 moves.  They may not look like much, but they worked the deep abdominal muscles. Today was my 1st Moderate Carb Day in a long while.  What are Moderate Carb Days? Only got 10 minutes?! ⏰ keep reading 👇🏻 While we know our abs are simply just one part of our core unit, it’s still beneficial to train it in isolation from time to time! Get ready to activate your abs and feel the burn! 💪🔥 Core Circuit exercises, in order: 1.) Decline Weighted Straight Leg Raises 2.) Shoulder Taps 3.) Weighted Decline Sit Ups Side To Side 4.) Decline Sit Ups (Arms across chest) 5.) Decline Dragon Flags Side To Side Perform all exercises in a row and take about 60 -90 seconds of rest after the last (fifth) exercise. It’s the resisted pikes for me! Hi Friends! This deep CORE circuit is the perfect start to really any workout. Deets below. 3-4 rounds 1) 10 each side, can modify to knees on ground 2) 10 each side, coordination is a huge part of this move so be patient with yourself 3) 20, bend your knees to pick up the ball in order to fire up the glutes 4) 15-20, can use a towel or sliders and a light/medium band 5) 20 Reminder not to throw all of your hard workout away on the weekend!
