3 Brekky ideas that take 5 mins to prepare, each of them having about 30g protein. 1) Egg muffin - these muffins were from Woolies and have higher protein. It take 2 mins to fry an egg and toast the muffin. This took under 5 mins to put together. 2) Scrambled egg wrap - this was even faster to put together, as there was nothing to cut. Just crack the eggs straight into the saucepan and mix in there with some salt and pepper and again under 5 mins to make. 3) Overnight oats - so this is about 5 mins to prepare 3-4 days worth of breakfasts. Here's how to IMMEDIATELY start doing more pull-ups… I went from doing 6 pull-ups to being able to do 20 pull-ups with this progression method. Weighted pull-ups. “But if I can only do 5-6 pull-ups, how can I do weighted pull-ups?” People think see guys in the gym with a 45lb plate dangling from them with the chain belt, or see monstrous people on Instagram or TikTok doing weighted pull-ups with three 45lb plates & think that’s the standard. In reality, you can start with a 10lb dumbbell. Once you are able to do 5-6 pull-ups, start exclusively doing weighted pull-ups with a 10lb dumbbell between your feet. Then after a couple weeks, make that a 15lb dumbbell, and do pull-ups until you can do 5 reps of that. Then a 20lb a few weeks after, then a 25lb.. and so on until you’re able to get a few reps out with a 40lb dumbbell. Then you can start using the 45lb plates like the people you saw online. Once you’re able to do 5-6 reps of weighted pull-ups with a 45lb plate, try to see how many normal pull-ups you can do, and be amazed at how you can cruise through 13-14 pull-ups. Cut that time literally in half by jumping on weighted pull-ups by starting with a 10lb, and see how fast you can progress. DM me "LIVE" if you're interested in other dieting hacks & strategies. My client Nick is up 10lbs in muscle (at least) and down about 6% bodyfat since we first started working together 4.5 months ago🫡 When Nick first came to me:- ❌ he was afraid of lifting a single weight against because of a series of lower back injuries ❌ lacked structure and consistency ❌ had bad experiences with previous coaches He told me he wanted to change his lifestyle and go back to how he used to look back in his army days. But most importantly, he wanted to get out of the rut he felt like he was in regarding his health and fitness… So that’s what we attacked… Everything we did was based around what he wanted, ensuring full safety of his back. But there a few keys to what we did for him:- 1️⃣ Build his confidence and trained around his injuries Just because you have a bad back doesn’t mean you can’t get big and strong There are always ways around it, while safely strengthening the target area. He made all this progress without ever getting underneath a bar for a squat or over one for a deadlift. Funnily enough, he started off not being able to do a single pull up, but now he’s at 8 clean reps. CRAZY 2️⃣ Keeping him accountable Now look, Nick used to be in great shape and I told him that if you want to look and feel like you did in your 20s, you better put in the work and TRUST THE PROCESS I’m not one to baby people or give them a pep talk when what they need is tough love. And I made that very clear to him. And that I was not going to go easy on him Nick being a military guy himself, I quickly found out he was made of tough skin so he had no problem with me being harsh on him or holding him accountable. The last few weeks with all of the running and hyrox training I’ve been doing, nailing down a set “training split” (including strength training) has been pretty tricky. But now I think I got it down! Wednesday being my strength training day, either legs or full body- today was a little bit of everything. I’m trying to incorporate more unilateral strength/stability movements in my session in order to help my running on another level. Though it’s kinda sad to see my strength is way lower than what it was, I’m training for something soooo different now! You can’t have it all, all at once! ✨CLIENT SPOTLIGHT ✨ Wanted to start sharing some of the amazing clients that make everything I do worth while. This is Avery (one half of @layersgreenlake) and I’ve been working with him for the last two years. In that time we’ve worked on so much and come such long way. Mobility and strength were two of his goals. If you can believe it or not we had a real hard time hip hinging and squatting — and last month we had his first powerlifting meet. PRs were hit and so much fun was had and I couldn’t have been more proud as a coach. He’s more mobile than he’s been and added HUNDREDS of pounds on to his total. Plus he’s just a kind dude and has an energy that lights up the room!
