Today I laid out for a hot minute by the pool. I wasn’t planning on it, but my ever resourceful @spinogrigio gave me the idea. I sat down, heard the sounds, felt the feels- all the sunshine and quietude. Then she came over and sat next to me. I had to leave almost as soon as she arrived. My words to her in jest and in truth were, “this is where we fell in love.” I meant it, and an insecure mind might pervert it. Two years ago Jess asked me to meet her at the pool at lifetime to talk about being a yoga teacher. (She’d just finished her ytt200) We dangled our legs in the water, sipped our drinks and time flew by while we discovered we both took interest in humans design astrology, etc- all the cliche white girl intrigues. We’ve been fast friends ever since, and I love her to the ends of the earth. Cheers to the summer- our meeting season, and so many more. May your cup always be full, may you know you always have a listening ear and a loving heart with me. May we return to each other again and again in a very not gay way 😂, over and over. I DID IT!! 60 pounds GONE!! 10 pounds away from my goal! This time last year, I was so miserable. My knees hurt, my hips hurt, and I was so defeated. I went to two different knee doctors and they both told me I needed to lose 70 pounds in order to have a surgery that it was impossible to do, I hurt. How was I ever going to get up and move when I hurt so bad. I started this semiglutide injections on June 9 of last year. They have been exactly what I needed. As summer approaches, I will have time to go and do the water aerobics class at Lifetime Fitness that I enjoy. Hey Olympians, We’re planning to be back in our pool by Wednesday, May 22nd, but Lifetime will allow us to practice through Thursday if necessary. With that in mind, tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21st, we will be practicing at Lifetime Athletic again at the same practice times to allow the repairs to happen at our pool. 10 and under: 4:45pm-5:30pm 11 and ups: 5:30pm-6:15pm Your swimmer will need to have the Lifetime Release Waiver so please make sure a guardian is available to sign for them. Per Lifetime, in order to not interfere with their regular business and as a courtesy to their patrons, please park on the back side and enter through the side gate so we can check your swimmer in. If you are a member, you may use the facilities as you would. If you are not a member, Lifetime asks that your swimmer exit the pool after practicing. Don’t forget to grab all caps, goggles, towels & clothes, etc. before leaving. We try to do a sweep before we leave the pool but with other people coming and going, we don’t want to mistakenly pick up a pair of shorts that might belong to a patron. 😂 Thanks for your help with everything! Y’all… I did it! 😭 I AM OFFICIALLY A 200hr CERTIFIED YOGA TEACHER!! 🥹🧘♀️🫶🏻✨ What a wild ride this has been in the best way possible. YTT has been such an emotional roller coaster for me. I don’t think I’ve cried this much in my entire life tbh! LOL 😆 It has allowed me to look deeper inward and connect to myself on a level I’ve never allowed myself to tap into. Yoga is teaching me that sitting with myself in stillness is much more powerful than it is scary. And even if it feels scary or uncomfortable… that is OK!! Change doesn’t come when you’re comfortable. Sitting with your shit, sitting with yourself and sitting with your feelings isn’t always comfortable but is it necessary? ABSOLUTELY!!! 👏🏼 Leaning into this space has been much more than getting my body into certain postures. It’s taught me that I use these postures to get into my body and FEEL. It’s allowing me to heal parts of myself and allowing me to come exactly as I am with no judgement. It’s taught me that my big feelings are completely honored and valid. That it’s ok to feel and feel so deeply! It’s actually a beautiful and healing thing. Yoga is teaching me that I AM much more powerful than I’ve ever given myself credit for. This moving meditation has been the greatest gift and I am beyond excited to share this gift with YOU! 😭🧘♀️✨ A HUGE thank you to my amazing teachers Holly & Jenny for guiding and supporting us every step of the way.
