Work In Progress: Panel Three - Earthly Delights - Lost In The Garden Moving on to work on the bottom section of the painting. I had quite a few changes and additions to do here, as well as finishing out some sections. First, I dug a few graves behind the large gravestones at the last suppers before painting in the stones themselves with their representations of 'typical' anorexia. Next, I decided to use the excuse of the beach scene from the centre panel to depict an observer who is exhibiting one of the many symptoms of underfeeding: feeling abnormally cold due to lower body temperatures. The lower body temperature is a sign of metabolic slow down, a coping mechanism which conserves calories (I once though feeling cold all the time was natural, just a girl thing, hmmm). I also added a sand castle to emphasize the beach scene. Then I added a tower of cook books and cooking accessories, another reference to the starvation response, this time psychological, an observed tendency to collect and hoard items related to food and cooking regardless of actual need or use of these items. A preference for hot drinks, again to respond to the lowered body temperatures and poor circulation. Next I gave Eris a golden throne, she finally has her seat at the party. Then I moved down to paint the mirror in which we no longer can see reality but only our fears. Cupid is now transformed into a baby demon. The white rabbit from panel one is a Jackalope now. Finally, I made a few changes to the accessories I had scattered on the ground in front of the operating table, and we have added some papers to the table as well - a signed waiver. Balance is important. People around my age (I'm 33) grew up with media telling us that normal and healthy and honestly still small bodies were 'fat' and that was 'bad' and a lot of us developed fears of certain foods as a result of this and the absolutely shit diet culture that was pushed on us. Starvation diets, juice cleanses- UGH just no. Add to the confusion and feelings of guilt and shame about foods that many people with ADHD crave sugars in different ways than neurotypicals. Refined sugars provide fast dopamine rewards and we can become reliant on refined sugars because the quick dopamine release is actually helpful for our focus regulation. ...I know. Fun stuff. Many of us (myself included) have gone in extremes where we either avoid these foods at all costs (I had an absolute gym rat period where I refused to touch anything I deemed 'unhealthy'. Trust that this too is unhealthy) or we become so dysregulated and struggle so much in our lives overall that they become the majority of our diet. And don't get me wrong, I stand by that any food is better than no food. Any day. This is a hill I'll die on. If this is all you can eat, do it and honestly I'm proud of you for it. My point though, is that finding balance can be hard when we've been taught to think in extremes and that some foods are "bad" and that if we consume them we'll be bad because we'll be fat which is also "bad". Do I love the gym and healthy foods? Yes. Do I love watching Bob's Burgers and eating cookies? Also yes. This is a weekly tradition with my child now. We have a dessert food for breakfast on Saturdays and watch cartoons together. We also do yoga and make protein shakes together. When we normalize different types of foods as PART of a healthy lifestyle rather than something that de-rails it, we promote balance and true healthy living, emotionally and physically. This is something we can teach our kids and it's something we can teach our inner child. Also shout out @crumblcookies my kid stans this French Toast cookie and the Toffee Sea Salt slaps 💕

We had SO MUCH FUN goofing around, letter our inner child freeeeeee! 🥰 2 of us in our 50s, one in her 40s, and one in her 20's...all very different bodies. All very grateful for this freeing and non-judgmental moment. I'll never forget it. 😊 This is a reminder that if you ate/exercised exactly like the influencers or fitness trainers you follow - your body would not morph into theirs. You have a unique to you blueprint. These influencers, health coaches, and gurus are often sending confusing and sometimes absurd messages that keep us obsessing and comparing to others rather than figuring out how to really take care of YOU. Friends, a larger body doesn't mean someone is unhealthy. Please never assume that. Many people in larger bodies are in great health, just as many people in smaller bodies are in poor health. Never judge a book by its cover. We know bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and we need to start embracing body diversity, or better, body neutrality. Here at Activate, we won't allow judgment, even if it comes from yourself. Are ready to start seeking health beyond weight loss? Our size has inaccurately defined our self-worth and health for way too long. Most people assume they can tell if an individual is healthy just by looking at them, which causes many issues. This leads many to believe that intentional weight loss is the key to achieving optimal well-being. However, this perspective overlooks the complex nature of health and the potential negative consequences of solely focusing on weight loss. The issue all stems from very deep-rooted weight stigma, based on inaccurate health information and fueled by society’s need to feel like they fit in. Weight stigmas can be harmful to both the mental and physical well-being of all people, but especially to those seeking medical care from doctors who are still prescribing diet and exercise while ignoring bigger, underlying issues. So much harm is done with the guise of being done with the best intentions. Eating disorders and exercise addiction are often brought on through the purpose of being “healthy.” Doctors prescribe diet and exercise because they are “healthy.” Mothers are criticized because they just want you to be “healthy.” Unfortunately, these people have all been misled because size does not necessarily equal health, and the mental and physical damage that dieting can cause outweighs the negatives of weight by quite a bit. While starving and running to get “healthy,” we often inadvertently hurt ourselves more. The physical effects and body reactions to restriction might directly sabotage your efforts. While you are trying to shrink, your body is trying to keep you alive, and this puts a lot of pressure on a lot of different systems. The good news is that this can be fought by shifting your mindset, listening to, and reconnecting with your body. In this post, we will explore the effects of weight stigmas and dieting on the body, with a few steps that you can take today to make a change and take control of your health. ::Learn more on the blog! 🔗 in bio. Frozen foods can be an easy (and less wasteful) option for those of us with ADHD... as long as we remember they exist in the depths of our freezer, but I will save that for a future post.... However, diet and wellness culture messaging often says frozen foods are less “healthy” than fresh foods. And I am here to remind you that this is a bunch of nonsense! In fact, in many cases, frozen foods (fruits, veggies, seafood, etc.) can actually be “fresher” than their non-frozen friends. Why? ❗️Fresh food that is picked or caught gets immediately flash frozen, which locks in nutrients and prevents nutrient loss that can naturally occur over time in fresh foods.❗️ So, next time you walk by the frozen aisle, check out what is available. It just might make your life a little easier and less stressful, and you can rest assured knowing you aren’t missing out on any nutritional benefits! 🧠🥑💜🧠🥑💜🧠🥑💜🧠 I’m an #AntiDietDietitian & I can help you understand your ADHD brain, connect with your values, & go from chaos to confidence with food & eating. #EatingWithADHD ® #AntiDietADHD P.S. Whole and Refined(white) grain products both have their place in a balanced diet and offer different nutritional benefits depending on the situation.   In certain situations, one type of grain may be more suitable than the other. For instance, athletes or individuals with high energy needs may benefit from the quick energy release provided by refined grains, especially before, during, or after intense exercise.   However, when it comes to overall health and disease prevention, whole grains are often recommended. They provide essential nutrients and fiber that support digestive health, heart health, blood sugar management and therefore help lower the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.   Ultimately, the key is balance and variety in your diet. Incorporating a mix of whole grains and refined grains allows you to enjoy the benefits of both while meeting your nutritional needs and personal preferences. • • • • • #intuitiveeatingdietitian #intuitiveeatingcoach #dietculturesucks #dietingsucks #dietsdontwork #eatingdisorderrecovery #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeater #dietitian #registereddietitian #rdapproved #dietculturedropout #antidiet #antidietculture #allfoodsfit #peacewithfood #joyfulmovement #effyourbeautystandards #effyourbodystandards #relationshipwithfood #charlottedietitian #faddietsdontwork #eatingdisorderdietitian #intuitiveeatingjourney #gentlenutrition #bingeeatingdisorder #relationshipwithfood

Emotional eating is one of the top concerns people share with me when I talk to them about their biggest struggles with food. Diet culture loves to demonize emotional eating, and I want to destigmatize it and remove any shame involved in the idea of emotional eating right at the outset. The truth is food is one way to cope with emotions. If you’ve had a hard day and a mug of hot chocolate or a cookie turns your frown upside down, that’s not necessarily bad. Emotional eating may become problematic, though, if food is your only or primary way of coping with emotions or if you eat emotionally more often than you’d like or in ways that feel impulsive or out of control. If emotional eating makes you feel out of control with food, check out the next @leading.lady.coach Leadership Series workshop I'm hosting! I'll discuss how to successfully navigate these challenges with practical tips and strategies. The event will be held at The Collective on Thursday, May 23, from 6 - 8pm. Wisdom from my hubby. ✨ The other day, I was comparing my health habits and appearance to other women I follow on IG. I was trying so hard to do these health promoting habits, yet felt like I wasn’t doing enough when I saw how much more others were doing. I told my husband at dinner: “They eat more protein than me.” “They have visable abs.” “They chug so much water.” “They eat way more veggies than me.” “They take so many fancy vitamins and supplements.” My husband’s wise response was to self reflect. “Well, how do YOU feel? Eating and exercising how you currently do?” I thought for a moment. “Actually, pretty good.” “Then just keep doing that and don’t pay attention to what others do.” You also have no idea how they feel or if they are enjoying food and fitness, which is my goal these days. You can’t tell by appearance or habits if someone has a healthy relationship with workouts and food that you’d actually want. And someone will always be doing more then you AND less. To some, you might be the one they are comparing their health habits to and feeling like they come up short. 👉🏻 Remember, it ain’t a competition. Just move and eat in ways that enhance your quality of life, which will be different for each individual person. Focus on doing what makes you personally feel good, physically and mentally. And consistently matters more than perfection. 👏👏👏 Ps We squeezed in our mini photoshoot just before the rain came. Yay! Pss I love a good anthropologie dupe dress! Amazon is the best for dupes that are so much more affordable but equally cute!

I know we are well into revision and exam season already but I hope these will still be helpful! After 4 years of exams you'd think I'd have it hacked but ultimately everytime I've had to do lots of revision I've changed. I mainly work from bed. It's where I feel most comfortable. Though I try to get up and changed before I revise for some separation. I prefer to take more natural breaks, completely whole topics or sections in one go, or when I'm hungry, thirsty or just feeling restless. I don't have a set routine or timetable either, motivation is low atm so I take what revision time I can get. I'll assign a topic or 2 to a broader area of time like a morning or afternoon and I just do as much as I can. Again because motivation is especially low I make sure to reward myself when I've completed something. The only other time constraint I employ is not working past 8pm. I am a perfectionist and this helps me stop feeling like I should be working 24/7. And finally sensory needs. Atm working from bed supports a lot of my needs I am comfortable, warm, I can wear what I want, have my Alexa playing music or my laptop watching TV. I have adjustable lighting and my weighted blanket. And you'll never find me far from a tangle! It is tough to get through exams, so I'm incredibly proud of you for trying! #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthrecovery #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillness #mentalillnessrecovery #bekindtoyourmind #recoveryisworthit #suicideprevention #depressionrecovery #anxiety #anxietyawareness #traumasurvivor #cptsd #anxietyrecovery #ocd #shawareness #shrecovery #iamnotdisturbing #emotionaldysregulation #malementalhealthawareness #emotionaldysregulationrecovery #edrecovery #dietculturesucks #camhs #asdawareness #femaleautism #latediagnosedautism

Real fridges aren’t rainbows. Yes, they probably contain fresh fruits and vegetables, but they also have yogurt containers, juice cartons, pizza boxes, and prepared foods. Not everyone has the time to make their own salsa, preserves, and cook homemade meals three times a day. If you enjoy making your own foods, that’s great! I do too sometimes. However, you shouldn’t compare yourself to health and fitness influencers on the internet and feel inadequate because your lifestyle is different. . . . #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingjourney #dieting #dietculturesucks #dietculturedropout #antidiet #foodfreedom #makepeacewithfood #edrecoverywarrior #disorderedeatingrecovery

I feel like I say this about a lot of things, but changing my mindset in this way is really and truly one of the things that helped me the most in recovery. I was constantly thinking about food and hating every single interaction I had with it, so instead of trying to NEVER think about it and go from 60 to 0, I tried to just think about it in a different way. I wanted to get better and become more in tune with my body, and the only way to do that is to PRACTICE and to learn! True story of a very recent time I did this: on Sunday night, Holden and I were traveling and so we had a super early dinner at 4:30pm before getting back on the road. At about 10pm I was then SO hungry, and I ended up eating way, way too many peanut M&Ms (always my weakness). The next morning I felt awful, but instead of scolding myself or hiding my body, I reminded myself of the importance of eating in regular intervals and, in the future if I’m eating dinner that early, a bedtime snack can help prevent me from bingeing/eating past fullness! I've been seeing people promoting calorie counting online A LOT recently. And I just had to say something... Just to get the record straight, energy balance and an energy deficit are needed for weight management or reduction. But here's why calorie counting might be more of a hassle than a help on your journey to finding your healthiest weight. [remember to follow me @gqjordannutrition for more no BS nutrition info] ✨ Calorie counting ignores food quality and how different foods affect your body. ✨ Food label calories can be off by up to 20% (shocking, right?!). ✨ Your body’s ability to absorb calories varies with food prep and your unique metabolism. Not all calories are created equal! A 100-calorie snack pack isn’t the same as a 100-calorie portion of almonds. Whole, nutrient-dense foods keep you fuller longer and support your hormones, metabolism, and overall health. I remember when I used to obsess over every calorie. It was stressful and made me dread eating. But once I started focusing on balanced and mindful eating, everything changed. I began to enjoy my meals and listen to my body’s natural hunger and fullness cues. It was such a relief! Research shows that while calorie counting can work, it’s no more effective than other methods. So, why not try a balanced and mindful eating approach? Same results, no stress, and you’ll gain a lifelong skill that you can share with your (future) kids and loved ones. This topic is just one part of my programme 'The Balance Blueprint'. [or as I like to call it: The last nutrition programme you'll need because you'll finally have the results you crave] If you're ready for more, and ready to feel AMAZING - slide into my DMs 📨 #nutritionexpert #dietculturesucks #mindfuleating #balanceddiet #womenshealth #wellnessgirl #nofaddiets #nourishment #hormonehealth #hormonehealing #foodfreedom

With gobs of nuance, I’m sharing a mindset shift around food that has helped me increase my nutrition, enjoy cooking and feel better. 🌱 After so many years of eating plans focused on losing weight, counting calories or points and eliminating many foods and foods groups, I’m now focused on adding nutrition. With each meal and snack I think about adding plants. And ALL plants count - grains, fruits, veggies, seeds, spices and herbs! Plus it’s fun to count your plants for each meal! 🍄🥑🍓🥜🌶️🌻🍚🍿 I thought I’d share in case you need a way to reframe your diet culture brain too. The 90’s were rough and our bodies deserve to be nourished and enjoyed! ❤️ *I’m finally out of a Crohn’s flare and able to care for myself and family again by cooking. **I’m not also doing a bunch of other home tasks. ***I intentionally did not crop my pooch out of the photo. Bellies and bodies are cool! ****My kids are all over 7 years old. *****Eating a variety of food is unfortunately a privilege in this economy.

Work In Progress: Panel Three - Earthly Delights - Lost In The Garden Carrying on with work on the central section of the painting. Our very doll like 'ideal' woman got a lovely pair of doll shoes and some doll hair. I also did the lion share of work on her lovely crown, an excessive concoction of golden apple pie "for the fairest'. Then a little more work on the comments section. Finally we back out to get a look at the centre section as it sits now, and how it sits in the context of everything done on the top half of the panel. The image of the ‘perfect body’ is a social construct taught to us by diet culture.⁣ ⁣ If we weren’t told to hate our cellulite and belly rolls, we wouldn’t spend most of our lives (and money) trying to ‘fix’ what we think is wrong. ⁣ ⁣ Diet culture is selling us a solution to a problem it created 🙃⁣ ⁣ I want you to know that it’s perfectly normal and okay to gain weight, to have cellulite, to have stretch marks, to have scars, to have belly rolls, and not to weigh what you did in high school. ⁣⁣ ⁣ 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐞.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ One of the ways I was able to come to a place of peace with my body was to understand that these beliefs were created by a multi-billion-dollar industry whose sole purpose was to make me believe that I wasn’t good enough, and that I will never be good enough, so they could continue profiting from me.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ For you to truly heal and find peace with your body, I encourage you to dig deeper into where these messages come from.⁣ ⁣⁣ ⁣ Never forget that your body has never been the problem. Diet culture is the problem. ⁣

The comments you make about your body will shape the comments they make about their own bodies for years to come. . Even if you never say a negative word to them about their own bodies. They’re listening. They’re watching. They’re internalizing the guilt, shame, and hatred you show towards yourself. . One of my best suggestions for how to talk about your body in front of your kids is....don’t. . Bodies don’t need to be the focal point of every conversation. . Shift the focus to how you’ll spend time together, how you’ll have fun, how you’ll make happy memories. And then do it. SHOW them that having a “good” body means having a body to experience the world with them. . Reassure them that you’ll be there, you’ll show up, you’ll be present. And then do it. SHOW them that body size shouldn’t dictate how big a life you’re allowed to live. . Talk about bodies around your children the way you wish someone had talked about bodies when you were a child. . That’s where generational healing can start.

Commenting on other peoples bodies is never okay. You should never compliment weight loss - you may think it is a good thing to compliment someone on, but trust me they know if they've lost/gained weight. - you do not need to comment on it. You never know why someone has lost weight, you could be complimenting an eating disorder, depression, chronic illness, etc. At the height of my ED I was complimented on my weight loss and praised for it when in reality I was quite literally dying and going through the worst time of my life. Please don't comment on someone's weight, it is not your place to do so x #anorexianervosarecovery #weightloss #weightgain #recoveryispossible #anorexiarecover #edrecovery #tcarecuperacion #tcarecovery #collegelife #unilife #nutrition #chronicillness #mentalhealthawareness #camhs #ukmentalhealth #dietculturesucks

Do your days of eating look VERY different from your evening eating?🤔 You’re ‘good’ all day, and you eat what you planned... you have your salad, you have your protein bar, you drink your water. But as soon as you’re done work, or as soon as dinner is done, those late night cravings start😩 You eat. You’re not satisfied. You eat some more. Still not satisfied. Eat. Way too full. Guilt. This same pattern plays out on the weekend - you’re ‘good’ during the week🥑🥗🥦🥬🥒 but the weekends feel like you’re constantly going overboard🍕🍪🌮🍩🍟 The problem here isn’t you. It’s not a lack of control around food🙅🏼‍♀️ It’s that your body is screaming at you for MORE!!! Your body doesn’t like eating like a bird all day, so it fights back - which inevitably leads to out of control nighttime eating and emotional eating, which then makes you restrict more during the day. It’s a vicious cycle🔄 To fix this, you need to break out of this pattern of restricting during the day, yes, even if you don’t ‘feel hungry.’ Your body is hungry! Until you start to honour that, you’re always going to feel out of control. When you break this cycle, you can finally find peace with food🙌🏼 ~ #foodfreedom  #foodfreedomjourney  #intuitiveeating  #intuitiveeatingofficial  #ditchdietculture  #dietculture  #dietculturedropout  #dietculturesucks  #dietsdontwork  #allfoodsfit #dietitianapproved #healthyeating #healthylifestyle #nutritiontips

Did you know what you eat is connected to your mental health? No? Neither did the teens I chatted to last week! Now, I know that mental health is multifaceted. We can’t just cook all of our food in olive oil and wait for our minds to be clear, but what’s the harm in adding some delicious foods into our mental health toolbox? You see, we are made up of TRILLIONS of bugs! These bugs help to produce these things called ‘neurotransmitters’ which help to support our mood, motivation, energy levels, sleep, and overall wellbeing too! The bugs LOVE diversity in their diet so I asked the teens I spoke to last week to share what they are going to ADD to their diet to feed their bugs and this is what they told me they’re adding in. What can you add to your diet this week? If I had to choose the hardest part of my own food and body struggles, it would probably be the binge eating. My darkest day came when I was bingeing daily (yet still trying desperately to eat less!), I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and all I wanted was to just eat like a 'normal' person. I know that I'm not alone in my experience. Binge eating is the source of secret shame, yet it's something that SO MANY of us are struggling with. I let my binge eating go on for much longer than it should have, getting worse and worse, because I believed that it 'wasn't bad enough' to seek support since I didn't quite fit the criteria for binge eating disorder. Well, jokes on me, because by leaving it that's exactly where I ended up anyway! 🙃 💥 That's why I'm hosting a FREE masterclass in a couple of weeks - Beat the Binge 💥 You deserve relief from binge eating and you deserve it NOW - not down the track when things get really bad and you need treatment from an eating disorder professional. Work In Progress: Panel Three - Earthly Delights - Lost In The Garden Carrying on with work on the central section of the painting. So what do we have going on here? I worked on painting the figures who have lost the competition for fairest from the centre panel. They were thrown into the pits of Diet hell and now they find themselves cold and vulnerable, listening to the jeers of the diet culture demons. One demon directs them up a ladder to attempt to redeem themselves on a running wheel that powers the 'ideal' woman. On the right side of the panel a chubby family reacts to the seizure of their chubby babies by health authorities. Yes, this has happened, repeatedly, and the fear of this happening is another form of terrorizing people into conforming to a societal expectation to diet for life while trapping the next generation in the cycle of diet culture too. Have you been told that emotional eating stems from a lack of will power, is ultimately self-sabotage, and can be treated through dieting and weight loss? You’re not alone! Let’s unwrap this one together 👇🏾 Emotional eating is none of that! If we don’t have the skills or resources to sit with uncomfortable feelings it’s common to turn to food for comfort which often lends itself to focusing on ways to regain control over our food intake through dieting and restrictive measures; this attempt at weight loss functions as a means to gain control over our lives and identity. This pattern isn’t self-sabotage - it’s our best attempt at coping with uncomfortable feelings. If we continue to try to meet our emotional needs through emotional eating and weight loss the likelihood of continuing to experience food guilt and shame and remaining stuck in the diet cycle increases. You deserve to normalize emotional eating, discover satisfaction with food, and cultivate adaptive coping skills that promote growth and healing ✨💜 #eatingdisorderrecovery #emotionaleating #mindfulness #mindfuleating #bodyimageissues #antidiet #diettips #bodypositivity #dietculture #bodyimagehealing #dietculturesucks #adhdnutrition #adhdstruggles #edrecovery #edrecoverywarrior #bodyimage #nondiet #healthateverysize #dietitianproblems #nutritioncoach #neurodivergent #foodfreedom #eatingdisorder #eatingdisordersupport #eatingdisorderawareness #weightloss #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealth

One of the principles of Intuitive Eating is joyful movement. Joyful movement simply means moving your body in ways that feel good to you. Movement is truly an act of self-love and self-care. When we move our bodies, both our physical and mental health benefit tremendously. There is actually very little evidence that exercise supports weight loss, because typically people simply eat more to compensate for the caloric deficit. But that's actually fantastic news, because it means we can exercise for happiness, increased mobility, less muscle pain and soreness, and overall better health. If you’re finding yourself having trouble moving joyfully, that might be a sign that you need to take a break from movement. Taking a break gives you a chance to break your negative associations with movement and start forming more positive ones. With time and self-compassion, you can transform your relationship to movement! We talk about breaking free from diet culture and building an intuitive relationship with food and movement in my Essential Skills for Intuitive Eating course, as well as in 1:1 coaching. 🍎Parents get to decide what kids eat for lunches. Not a lunch monitor. Not a (well-meaning) EA or teacher. If you hear that your child’s lunch box is being policed e.g. they are being asked to eat X first or aren’t allow to eat THIS before THAT. Do some digging. Who is monitoring the lunch? In our school it was grade 7 kids. In yours, it could be someone else. Then find out if there is flexibility in the lunch monitoring, is this a classroom policy? Or is it flexible? Which we can learn more about with a quick chat with the teacher or a short email. If your lunch monitor changes often parents can also put in a handy “Lunchbox Card” to ask the person supervising lunch to please let their child eat any foods in their lunchbox in ANY order and include their name and phone number for any questions. 📌Don’t forget to SAVE THIS POST and print out the lunchbox card to use if/when you need it! Have you noticed any lunchbox policing at your schoolWhat did you do? Comment below! 👇👇👇 . . . This lunchbox card is adapted from one created by @katjarowellmd and @extremepickyeatinghelp

Ready to stop dieting and have a more peaceful relationship with food? One that might look like: 🥳 Ordering what you actually want to eat when you’re out to lunch with girlfriends instead of getting what you think you’re “supposed” to eat and then raiding the pantry as soon as you get home 🥳 Making your family’s favorite recipe for the Memorial Day cookout instead of trying to find the low calorie, low point version that no one wants to eat, least of all you 🥳 Allowing yourself an unexpected pit stop for a snack with your kids without having to pull out your calorie counting app and then stressing about there not being enough calories left for dinner If being able to eat with this kind of freedom and peace sounds life changing... We're less than 7 days away the next round of my Thrive Tribe group coaching program that will help you: 🥰 Break free of all-or-nothing eating patterns and find the happy, healthy, sustainable way to eat healthy without sacrificing foods you love 🥰 Stop letting thoughts about what you should or shouldn’t eat overwhelm your valuable mental real estate… and put that energy into other things you’d much rather be thinking about 🥰 Heal old narratives that tell you your body is a problem that needs to be fixed and find a kinder, gentler way to embrace and respect your here-and-now self instead Visit the link in bio to learn more and apply! I know you are frustrated by the extra baby weight that is still hanging around. You just CAN’T get rid of it no matter how hard you try. Me neither! Breastfeeding, not sleeping for 2 years and anxiety meds have made 200 lbs my new normal. But I’m not stressing and you don’t have to either! You could sit there hating your body and feeling sorry for yourself, wishing things could be different OR you could take baby steps that will make you feel happier and healthier in your everyday life Then when the weight does come off you won’t have to bounce from one extreme diet to the next, desperately trying to keep the weight from coming back. Wanna know why I’m not stressing? Because I feel good! I have the energy to chase my son around. When he lets me sleep, I sleep well. I’ve found a movement routine that works with the toddler mom lifestyle. I’ve figured out how to feed both of us healthy and delicious meals. And I still have energy left over to put into my relationship. I am healthy and happy BuT yOUr’E oVErWeiGHt ?!?!? Funny thing about weight, it doesn’t tell the whole story. I had lab work done last week and every health metric that was checked - and that list was LONG They all came back in the normal range. My body grew a WHOLE FREAKING PERSON. It changed a LOT I need to be a little patient when it comes to changing it again. So if all you want is to be skinny, I am not the coach for you But if you wanna be the happiest and healthiest version of yourself Who is able to show up for her kids, her partner AND herself, despite the craziness of mom life and the mental load of being the default parent I invite you to head to the link in my bio to join my Mom Wellness Program so we can build these easy to implement habits and routines that are the GAME CHANGER for your body inside and out. #SlowSteadyAndSustainable #HealthyHabitsForLife #CreateHealthyHabits #DietCultureSucks #AntiDietCulture #DietsDontWork #HealthyHabitsForLife #HealthAtEverySize #AllFoodsFit #FoodFreedom #IntuitiveEating #HealthyLifestyle #Motivation

Got a tempting treat winking at you from the kitchen cupboard? 🍬 Ever felt like diving in and gobbling them all up to just "get it over with"? 🥴 Well, guess what? We've all been there! But let's have a little chat about this sweet dilemma! 🍭 Imagine savouring the sweetness little by little. A candy here, a treat there, spreading joy over different days. By doing so, you're likely to relish each moment more and munch on fewer overall. 🍫🍬🍭 So, when that "let's get it over with" thought knocks on your mind's door, kindly remind yourself that it might not be the most practical plan. Opt for the strategy that lets you enjoy the sweet journey while still keeping your sweet-tooth desires in check. A bit today, a bit later – it's the sweet balance that's the real treat! 🙌🍰 Embrace the deliciousness with a touch of patience, and you'll find yourself both having your treats and enjoying them too! 🤗🍩

🍎🥤 Don’t rely solely on apple cider vinegar (ACV) for weight loss! While some studies suggest modest benefits, scientific research doesn’t fully back up claims of its effectiveness. Remember, sustainable weight management involves a balanced diet, regular exercise, and evidence-based strategies. 🙌🏼 While incorporating ACV into your routine may have some potential benefits, it should not be viewed as a standalone solution for weight loss. Consulting with a healthcare professional and focusing on sustainable lifestyle changes is paramount for achieving long-term success in weight management. ✨ • • • #applecidervinegar #applecidervinegardiet #dietsdontwork #ditchdietculture #dietculturesucks #weightloss #weightlossadvice #dietitian #dietitianadvice #nutritionmyths #nutritionfacts #dietmyths
