#thankyou for loving me through the grief. As we head into Mother's Day weekend, I reflect on those first few mother's days without my mom. The wrestling with grief, anger and loss. The intense emotions and then the numbness of it all. I was broken but oh how loved I was. The messages, the notes, small gifts and many prayers. The moms who adopted me during this time. Feeding me, including me, remembering me and loving me like their own. My aunt's who filled gaps they didn't have to. My best friend who sat with me in silence. I was broken but in those moments, I was healing. I'm okay now, actually I'm living again, blooming, some might say. Because of love, genuine love I was able to heal and become whole again.
