I know I'm slower than most, and when I met you, I thought I had found someone who could wait with me, walk with me at my pace until one day you stopped reaching out like others. And regardless of my endless efforts to know the reason why you did what you did, I couldn’t find one. Every buzz and beep had me hoping it was you. I felt on edge all day long, checking my phone every now and then. I still do it, and it makes me feel disgusted. Because half of my heart believes that maybe you are unsure of me just for a while or something bad happened to you and you'll come running when you'll feel I'm the one. I question my gut because I'm refusing to go wrong with you. What happened to you, you were different, or so I thought. Everything is chaotic now, I am in two minds. I realised all this while, I had been hoping against hope that I wasn't ghosted, but unfortunately, it turned out to be true. I am trying so hard to accept that. I wish it was as easy as ghosting me was for you. And the more I try to get acceptance, I feel deceived and sometimes so lonely that I can feel it in my bones, in my eyes when I see us in every other couple I pass through, in the beautiful conversations I pick up on. It hurts when you try to forget someone you saw as your forever. Getting attached, it’s all in the brain, they say, and all you need is to make a shift in focus. But no matter how ready you think you are, it still hurts. Letting go is not easy, letting go of attachments, the memories, the hope is not easy at all. The voices in my head keep on screaming endless emotions - you tested his patience, you do it every time, you do it with everyone, you don’t deserve his time, you will end up alone, you deserve to end up alone. I want these voices to stop for a while, I want to rest. I want to feel once like how I used to before I met you. I was hopeless of finding someone again and I was better that way. I want people to tell me that I am the strongest even though I feel weak. Words can make a difference, right?
