𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐌𝐞 ⚜️ Hello, hello ihr Lieben 🤍 Ich hoffe, dass es euch allen gut geht. Welches gehypte Buch habt ihr erst sehr spät oder noch gar nicht gelesen? 🤭 Wie ihr sicherlich mitbekommen habt, gehöre ich zu den letzten Personen, die aus der Buchcommunity die Maxton Hall Reihe noch lesen. Vor der Serie wurde es also höchste Zeit für mich zumindest Band 1 endlich eine Chance zu geben. Die ersten paar Folgen der Serie habe ich noch vor mir, die nächsten kommen noch. Zuerst gibt es aber noch die Rezension zum Buch von mir 🫶 Nachdem dieses Buch wirklich lange auf meiner Wunschliste lag, wurde es vor der Serie Zeit, es endlich zu lesen. An dieses Buch wollte ich so neutral wie möglich gehen, da es an allen Ecken in den Himmel gelobt wird und ich sehr selten etwas schlechtes gehört habe. Das Setting hat mir ziemlich gut gefallen, aber ich hatte das Gefühl, dass das Maxton Hall College an sich manchmal ein wenig in den Hintergrund gerückt ist. Ruby fand ich unglaublich sympathisch. Ihre Leidenschaft und ihre Ordnungsliebe haben ihr gleich das gewisse Etwas verliehen, wodurch man schnell eine gewisse Verbindung zu ihr aufbauen kann. Bei James hingegen hat es etwas gedauert, bis ich so richtig mit ihm warm geworden bin. Trotzdem fand ich es sehr schön, wie wir Schicht für Schicht zum weichen Kern angelangen. Die beiden zusammen hatten eine tolle Chemie. Ich mochte es sehr, wie langsam es sich zwischen den beiden entwickelt. Am Anfang waren vor allem die Neckereien zwischen den beiden amüsant und haben die Geschichte sehr flüssig gemacht. Und obwohl sie einander eine Zeit lang nicht mögen, habe ich vor allem ihren respektvollen Umgang miteinander geschätzt. Dennoch ging es mir gegen Ende ein kleines bisschen zu schnell, da hätte ich mir vielleicht das gleiche Tempo weitergehend gewünscht. Vielleicht konnte ich deswegen nicht so ganz die Emotionen der beiden nachempfinden, eine gewisse Tiefe hat mir einfach noch gefehlt. Die grundsätzliche Geschichte konnte mich positiv überraschen, nur ein paar Turns habe ich vorhersehen können. Weiter in den Kommentaren ⬇️

Eén van challenges was "vraag aan een dierbare wat zijn of haar favoriete boek is en lees deze". Natuurlijk vroeg ik m'n oma. Net als ik én mijn moeder is ook zij een lezer. Ik heb alle vertrouwen in haar smaak. De blauwe fiets is haar favoriete boek. Iets dunners kon ze blijkbaar niet verzinnen. 😅 Ik las deze baksteen en was zeker onder de indruk. Ik snap dat dit een boek is wat je bij blijft maar of het een favoriet is... Een spannend tweedewereldoorlogsverhaal, een erotische liefdesgeschiedenis, en een dramatisch familieroman in één. Ja, dit was nogal een onderneming. Ik heb expres gewacht tot mn vakantie met het lezen van dit boek. Was het 't waard? Zeker. Maar m'n nieuwe favoriet is het niet. Dit boek zit vol met gruwelijkheden en heel veel verdriet en ellende. Over het algemeen kan ik er wel tegen maar zelfs ik vond dit heftig. Lea, de hoofdpersoon vond ik in eerste instantie onsympatiek. Ze deed me een beetje denken aan Scarlett van gone with the wind. Gedurende het verhaal wordt Lea minder naief en maakt ze een mooie ontwikkeling door. Tussen alle gruwelijkheden door maakte het verhaal van Lea, haar liefdes en haar familie dat ik door wilde lezen. Het gaf het boek iets menselijks. Het erotische aspect vond ik trouwens alles meevallen. Gelukkig maar. Einen alten Mann ermordete er mit der Axt, ein Baby wurde ermordet, Mädchen und Frauen wurden get…. und verge…….. Abscheulicher geht es nicht mehr! Grauenhaft. Dieser Typ hat die Leichen... verge…….. Eine alte Frau, die ihm Brote, Wurst und sogar ein Paar Schuhe schenkt, wird von ihm kaltblütig ermordet als „Dank“. Dieser Massenmörder ist ein Psychopath. Die Geständnisse von Leszek Pekalski sind eindrucksvoll geschrieben. Der Interviewer, der dem Polen immer Schokolade, Seife und Pornohefte mitbringt, gerät in den Hintergrund, und man vertieft sich völlig in die kranken Gedanken des Mannes, der wahrscheinlich so viele Menschen umgebracht hat wie niemand zuvor. Ich habe genau einen Monat gebraucht um dieses doch sehr (für mich) dicke Buch durchzulesen aber es hat sich absolut gelohnt. Wir begleiten hier Demon Copperhead auf seinem Weg vom Kind zum Erwachsenen Mann und das in jeglicher Hinsicht. Schon seine Geburt Grenz an ein Wunder, da er aus einer Mutter heraus geboren wird, welche Tief und Fest im Drogensumpf gefangen ist. Man liest dieses Buch mit einer Gänsehaut nach der anderen und hält den Atem an bei einigen Stellen. Das Zitat: „ Es ist ein Wunder, das man das Leben mit nichts beginnt und mit nichts beendet und dazwischen trotzdem so viel verliert.“ (Seite 741) beschreibt so eindringlich, wie Demon das Leben erlebt und mit welcher Schwere er sein Leben versucht zu meistern. Ein wirklich herausragendes Buch welches es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat, den armen Menschen aus dieser Gegend eine Stimme zu geben. “This is a story about a lot of things, but mostly about idiots. So it needs saying from the outset that it’s always very easy to declare that other people are idiots, but only if you forget how idiotically difficult human being is” But then the author says midway through the book - “this story isn’t about idiots. It’s just a story about normal people with genuine struggles. Emotional baggage mostly. It’s about you and me. It’s about trying to find a common ground for strangers to have an opportunity to be friends.” This book is fun, funny and inspiring. Characters have real and emotional depth. And I think Mr Fredrick Backman has this uncanny ability to tap into human emotions and describe the same in such a simple yet thought provoking manner. There is also a limited series based on this book on Netflix. It’s in Swedish language. I don’t like looking at subtitles so I couldn’t really feel engaged with the show. Ich lebe jetzt seit ca. 1 ½ Jahren minimalistisch bzw. ich erlerne den Minimalismus. Man kommt jedoch sicher an den Punkt, an dem man neuen Input möchte und dafür ist dieses Buch perfekt. Auch um sich an bereits bekannte Themen zu erinnern oder neue Themenbereiche kennen zu lernen, auf die man sonst nicht aufmerksam geworden wäre.
