I feel bad that I never listened to more Noah Kahan before this honestly. ☀️Watching Nothing? Lol, BUT Bridgerton season 3 part 1 is coming in just a few days! I’m very excited but don’t know if I should torture myself by watching part 1 just to wait another month for part 2. Dark Hearts Review (not quite tea but I’m a sucker for sugar- yes it’s hot chocolate) I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. I loved that it was a collection of stories rather than one long one which makes it super easy to read. I couldn’t pick a favourite if I tried, all the stories are exactly what you’d imagine a dark taboo romance to be and I’m here for it. The characters are all different and they definitely leave you wanting more. ✨REVIEW: Enjoyed the intricate and compelling storytelling following Yunxian’s journey as a woman, wife and very early doctor in 15th century China. The research and historical accuracy really added to the storytelling and character building. Her grandparents were my absolute favorite people. Kinship, duty, tradition, innovation, adversity and caring for others all told throughout. From a friend’s recommendation for me a historical fiction fan!

Susan Dennard Rating: ... ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review: Dennard did a wonderful job at expanding the world of the Luminaries in this second book.The writing was engaging and easy to follow and Winnie's perspective was as on point as previously. The plot progression was really good and included some unexpected twists and directions I wasn't expecting which I loved. I did find it dragged a bit to begin with but once the momentum built up I simply could not put it down. As such I read the entire thing in a day. The romance development was well balanced, although I always wanted more as I am here for Winnie & Jay! As usual, nightmare compendium extracts are still a part of the book- love love love!- and the forest and the supernatural still play a main role in the book. It was so cheesy and the banter was honestly just eye rolling, not to mention the constant comments about Kai not wearing a shirt ~ever~. The flirting/banter felt so forced in how it was written; it felt so evident that Roberts was trying to create swoon-worthy/trope-y lines. The plot was extremely similar to Red Queen and The Hunger Games. Thankfully, it did improve. It became its own story and blossomed into a fantastic slow burn. ★★★ In Sophie Hannah’s “Silent Night,” the story is narrated by Poirot’s trusted companion, Inspector Edward Catchpool of Scotland Yard. As a diligent investigator in his own right, Catchpool assists Poirot in piecing together the puzzle of the perplexing case… I made the mistake of going into this expecting an Agatha Christie novel which, although understandable given the title, is entirely unfair. After accepting that this is a different author with an individual writing style I was able to enjoy this book. As a stand alone novel, it’s exciting and witty, although it does start off quite slowly. Unfortunately, I was able to guess the culprit before the end of the novel which is one of my biggest pet peeves in detective fiction, and I wasn’t overly impressed with the motive. ✨Book Review✨ 📖Funny Story by Emily Henry ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 I always look forward to Emily Henry releases and this was no exception. I finished it this morning and, per usual, went straight to Goodreads to look at other reviews. I saw one review that said “Is this book better than most books? Yes. Is it better than most Emily Henry books? No” and that about sums up my thoughts on this one. Was this a good book? Yeah, of course. I don’t think Emily Henry can write a bad book honestly. But for me, this one just didn’t meet the expectations. The characters were fine but the story wasn’t my favorite. It felt like so much happened while also nothing at all. I thought there would be more storyline or drama surrounding the exes, Daphne’s dad, a big secret Julia was hiding…anything. But nothing crazy happened. Everything just..got resolved? Which is fine, it’s definitely a book that will make you smile and love the characters, but I was expecting a bit more. On the other hand, Haley gave this book 5⭐️ and theres definitely lots of people that love this book. Would definitely still recommend reading it, you might love it! Also, SPOILERS AHEAD, I think my main issue with the book was Miles not picking her up (I’m trying to be vague so as not to give too much away). But you’re telling me that he would just decide to not pick her up? Not find another ride, let her know ahead of time, nothing?? I get the emotions but come on. No stone is left unturned in this expose of one man’s utterly crushing human experience. Written in such a pointed, excruciatingly unflinching manner, you simply cannot help but to tear through these pages. This story and author’s writing will haunt me for all of my days. . . . Undoubtedly a must-read and will definitely be one of the first books I recommend to everyone from here on out. WOW does this book have staying power! As a Polish person myself, this story hit so close to home and makes me yearn to read more from Polish authors. This book is gripping, explosive, and down-right terrifying at multiple points. Having toured KGB prisons in Lithuania, I can say that this author’s description of torture at the hands of the Soviets was spot on and absolutely horrifying. If you go into books skeptical and wanting to point out “well I wouldn’t have done that” or “but that’s not how I would experience that”, then this book will not be for you. I can see why people love this book but I really only liked it, which isn’t a bad thing I just think that maybe it was longer than it needed to be, I got a little bored at points but in the end I really really enjoyed the story and the whole who did it story with knowing right from the start who did it and learning all the events that occurred to lead to that moment. I think this book was beautifully written and it really is a highlight of reading this book. I Wish You Would - Eva Des Lauriers 4/5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Format: Audio Thank you Eva Des Lauriers and Macmillan Audio for my #gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! This is such a quintessential teenage drama in a great way! Des Lauriers truly captured the feelings of being in high school where every emotion feels like the end of the world. I love that this whole story took place over the course of 24 hours. Timelines like this always make each detail feel so much more important. The idea of the entire senior class having a camping trip and writing their deepest wishes/fears down to burn all together is such a great and cathartic concept. But of course, putting a bottle full of papers containing every high schooler’s deepest secrets can only bring chaos. High school me related to Natalia a little too much between having feelings for her best friend to the insurmountable pressure she feels to be perfect in school. I love Natalia and Ethan’s relationship - how even when they aren’t on good terms, they will still drop everything to support each other. This entire book was one big miscommunication and while I typically hate that trope, it just worked for this book. Something about teenagers in love at the most confusing and change-heavy time in their lives just screams miscommunication trope Overall, this was an enjoyable read and really packed those high-school emotions in!
