✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨ 🎢 Uglies: Cutters by scott_westerfeld and Devin Grayson, illustrations by @stevencummingsart 🎢 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like the first graphic novel, Cutters follows Shay’s story during one of the main books. This time we get to see her side of the events of Pretties, the second book in the series. The second Uglies graphic novel structures itself like a fairy tale story. Each line of the fairy tale is revealed as we hit a different plot point in Shay’s life in New Pretty Town. The anger in Shay is so present. It’s clear that, despite liking her friend Tally, there will always be a bit of resentment. A bit of anger in how the events of their life play out and how Tally’s involved with that. And also the underlying concern that, if Shay is open about her relationship, it will somehow be taken away from her by Tally. Shay is also more rebellious, being more critical of the government now. I can’t blame her for that resentment. For someone that is supposed to be her friend, Tally keeps a lot of secrets, things that Shay would agree with and want to be a part of, all because Tally would rather share it with the guy in her life at that moment. It’s both reflective of how teenage relationships and friendships can be while adding depth to both characters because we are seeing them from the opposite perspective. I wish these continued, because seeing how this changes once they are both Specials would add so much to the story. Once again, the artwork is beautiful and I particularly love the fairy tale panels, where we see Shay as a “ranger” and Tally as a “princess.” ❔ How was your weekend? Happy ✨Monday✨ Anyone else cloth book cover fans? I started using cloth book covers because I didn’t want to damage my book when I took the dust jacket off a hardcover to read it. Despite being a hardcover, they seem to be more fragile than they should be if you want them to stay in good condition! There are other reasons I love them, but honestly I love the feel of them in my hand and I love how pretty they are! Ready or Not 🌸🌿✨ This seemed like the perfect book to finished on Mother’s Day! I’ll admit the cover truly drew me in because it’s GORGEOUS! This was definitely not your average romance read. On the first page you find out that the main character, Eve, is finding out that she’s pregnant from a one night stand. The story is all about how ready or not some things are just gonna happen and you’ll learn how to manage it but it helps to have good friends and family by your side. I liked that it showed there is no “normal” family situation and that you just need to find the right people to love and support you 💛 The book towards the end seemed a little long but it wrapped up nicely. 4 ⭐️ Read for me! #readyornot #romancereads #springreads #readingaesthetic #readinglist #readinggoals

💐𝓦𝓮𝓮𝓴𝓵𝔂 𝓡𝓮𝓹𝓸𝓻𝓽💐 I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was tagged by @poetry.and.plot.twists on this one and i thought i’d share about my life lately! I took a break from Bookstagram and it really felt so good to get rid of that self imposed pressure on posting and just keeping up with this space. Truly missed everyone and reading tho! 📖𝐑 𝑒𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑔: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗸 - heard so many good reviews on this one, and the plot was so intriguing I couldn’t resist! It’s been interesting so far! 𝗜𝗳 𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗧𝗼 𝗠𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗹𝗮𝘆 - I haven’t been impressed by any of the books by this author so I was hesitant in picking this one up. But so far, it has hooked me and I’m invested on it so much! We shall see if this one might end up being my favorite from the author! Doing the audio and it’s engaging! 🍽️𝐄 𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔- We had Hibachi last night for Mother’s Day and I’m still full and thinking about it. Such a fun and yummy experience 🥰 🎶𝐏 𝓁𝒶𝓎𝒾𝓃𝑔: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 on repeat! Do we expect anything else? Lol. 😍𝐎 𝒷𝓈𝓈𝑒𝓈𝒾𝓃𝑔: 𝗧𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗳𝘁. My algorithm continues to be all TS and I’m not mad. Except that I did not get TTPD on my setlist when I watched her last year 😞 📺𝐑 𝑒𝒸𝑜𝓂𝓂𝑒𝓃𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑔: 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗹𝘂- this show has gotten me so glued to my TV! Every time I get the chance, I’m so excited to watch an episode and it’s still on going. Any true crime dramatized show, I’m sold. Go watch if you love those as much as i do! 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝗳𝗹𝗶𝘅 - this is such a thought provoking one. If you’ve seen it, let me know your thoughts!
