It’s one that you must pay attention very closely because everyone will be a suspect in your eyes. The characters do tend to blend together if you’re not paying attention on who is who. I had to write down in my notes like this person did this and this person is related to this one. I’d suggest to go in blind because you just know you’re going to get a nail biting story. Short chapters it’s bound to keep up interested. The story is about Ali’s disappearance what happened to her? Who did it? Her boyfriend Ryan is never found guilty. House of Mirrors By: Erin Kelly Genre: mystery/thriller Rating: 4.5/5 House of Mirrors tells the story of Alice, a girl, obsessed with fashion and clothes who has just opened her own vintage clothes shop. However, shortly after the shop opens, she starts to revive odd notes and phone calls, opening up the past that her mother has kept secret, including what truly happened on the night of 97, and how someone called Biba is involved. Firstly, let me say this book takes you through a journey like no other, the pure amount of twists, turns and loops kept me infatuated the entire time. The way this book is written is perfectly paced with secrets being reviled and developments being made appropriately. The characters are equally mysterious as they are interesting, with Karen, Alice’s mother, holding her own secrets and doing all she can to protect her daughter from them, Gabe, Alice’s partner, being the infuriating nosey character and Alice herself as the smart but juvenile girl just wanting to find out what really happened in her family. I am usually not a big fan of multiple povs but the way they were intertwined was completely unexpected and deliciously juicy. 🙃 Even though it was a little gory at one part it but really laid the ground work of the emotion of the story. The twists and turns too I was shocked by and found myself sitting on the edge of my couch at a few points with anticipation of what would happen next. After reading the thriller, Every Last Fear I put Alex Finlay on my auto read author list. His upcoming novel, If Something Happens to Me was my weekend binge. Ryan and his girlfriend Ali, take a trip to Lover’s Lane teenage couples often do, but instead of youthful fun, Ryan is knocked out and when he comes to both Ali and the car are missing. Ryan becomes the primary suspect but with the help of a good lawyer he is never charged with anything. His life moves on be he is forever haunted by the events of that night. Fast forward five years and the car is found submerged in a lake with two dead men inside. Also inside is a mysterious envelope labeled in Ali’s handwriting that says, if something happens to me……. Add in a new Sheriff and a crime syndicate and you have complex and intriguing thriller. I loved this one. The characters were really well developed and it added to an already intriguing premise. Where Finlay really excels is in weaving multiple plot lines together and keeping the reader off balance with no idea of where the story is headed. But when the twists and turns finally converge and all is revealed, it is both a surprise and delight. And that is all I’m going to say. This one is best to go in as blind as possible. I listened to this one on audio and I am so happy I did. The narration was impeccable and the performance added an extra layer of enjoyment to an already great story. In einem Rutsch, dank der fließenden Schreibweise, gepaart mit den kitzelnden Spannungen, der Ungewissheit und Neugierde, wirbelte der Plot durch mein Gehirn, verursachte lauter Fragezeichen und ließ mich schockiert am Ende dasitzen. As part of her classes she submits her DNA to a genealogy website and stumbles upon a huge mystery on where she came from. Sloan knew she was adopted, growing up in a good home, they were open about that and had no issues with Sloan finding her birth family. Once Sloan runs her DNA the results bring back information that Sloan was a part of a missing persons case from 30 years ago. Finding out that her biological parents as well as herself went missing with no leads cause Sloan to upend her life in search of the truth. 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: This was a great mystery that had me guessing from the getgo. I love a good missing person case and this had a lot of smaller mysteries imbedded within the storyline. I also enjoyed how there were flashbacks with the Sheriff from 30 years prior that delved deeper into the background of the story. Charlie Donlea does a great job of keeping me entertained throughout the entire book. If you like 20/20 or Dateline this is a great book for you! Lots of twists and turns. reading recap 🌻🎀🌷💖🦩⛅️ This is my REALLY delayed april reading recap post, but it’s better late than never! ✨ In april, I read 5 books, 2 thrillers, 1 contemporary fiction, 1 romance, and 1 nutrition book! Below are my high level ratings, and whether or not l’d recommend reading👇🏼 🌻Maybe in Another Life: Unfortunately, this didn’t resonate with me the same way her other books have. This is definitely my least favorite book of TJR’s, but still love ya girl!! 💖 The Cousins: A decent YA Mystery, but there was nothing earth-shattering about this book. 🦩The Resort: This was a slow burn thriller that failed to pull me in as much as I had hoped. The story wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either! 🎀 Credence: This book goes WILDDDDD. I LOVED the spicy scenes, but the story was too damn long. Read this if you’re looking for a taboo romance! ⛅️ This is why your Fat: I picked this up because I was stuck without a book for 3 hours. However, this was very informative how hormones affect your body and metabolism. But, I wouldn’t recommend this to my current audience 🤣 . . . April was filled with so many memories! La narrazione è affidata ad una donna di cui non conosciamo il nome, ma che da subito ci mette al corrente della sua ossessione nei confronti dell'ugualmente anonimo marito. La protagonista conduce una vita perfetta da ogni punto di vista: abita in una casa elegante, è madre di un bambino ed una bambina adorabili, svolge due lavori che trova appaganti ed attinge senza remore da un cospicuo conto corrente; questo però non le permette di provare alcun senso di sicurezza, ed infatti vive nell'angosciosa attesa del momento in cui verrà lasciata. Tutto questo è raccontato attraverso una settimana della sua vita quotidiana, costellata da abitudini tutt'altro che quotidiane Infatti, dopo qualche pagina in cui si sorride dei comportamenti sopra le righe della narratrice, il suo controllo patologico sulle azioni del marito unito al totale disinteresse verso qualunque altra persona con cui interagisce (compresi lз suз stessз figlз!), fa virare di 180° i sentimenti dellǝ lettorǝ mentre sugli eventi descritti scende un velo di turbamento e disagio. I have decided I am not in the mood for romance books apparently. I usually love to read them when the weather is nice but my brain is a mess right now and I just want something different. R. Ericsson. 👍😁 Kniha pro mne byla docela překvapením. Přečetla jsem jí za pár hodin, což se mi moc nestává.. 😄 Jedná se o druhý díl série Přízraky z Michiganu a i přestože jsem první nečetla, ničemu to nevadí, jelikož se jedná o volné pokračování. 👍 Ale i tak jsem si jedničku samozřejmě sehnala! 😁 V knize se seznámíme s Corrie a Sammym Flynnovými, jejich dcerou Isis a Sammyho sestrou Sarou. Rodina se rozhodne pronajmout si staré, gotické sídlo Kerry Mannor, které je opředeno nejedním tajemstvím a i jeho minulost je více než děsivá. Prvotní nadšení však brzy vystřídá nejistota a strach poté, co se v domě začnou dít nevysvětlitelné věci a i samotná Corrie se začne divně chovat. Vše vygraduje na hallowenské párty, kdy Corrie nalezne svého milovaného manžela mrtvého... Dopátrá se Corrie, či jeho sestra Sára pravdy? A bude zlo potrestáno? To už si přečtěte sami...! 👍😁 Moc se mi líbilo prolínání minulosti s přítomností. Také střídání vyprávění Corrie a Sary účinkovalo a to tak, že jsem nebyla schopna se knihy odtrhnout! Zápletka, která mi ze začátku přišla originální, mne v rozuzlení lehce zklamala - čekala jsem něco trochu více sotisfikovanějšího. Ale ve výsledku to ničemu nevadilo. Autorka píše skvěle a čtivě, takže se tahle maličkost dá prominout. 😁 Taková mnohem lepší Darcy...! ❤️👍 Hodnotím: ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 Ti, co zemřeli J. R. Nonostante tutto, però, la Hausmann è davvero brava e alla fine mi sono affezionata molto al personaggio di Anni. In sostanza, non il suo miglior libro, ma comunque un buon thriller. Mother Tash is desperate for an epic story to launch her freelance journalist career. She ends up befriending the sophisticated, rich, mothers of her sons playgroup. They seem to have it all, including their own secrets. This was an okay read for me. There is so much going on in the story line yet it unfortunately failed to grip me and I found it quite slow. The font size was tiny which is a particular pet hate of mine too. I absolutely hated main character Tash, she was honestly just the worst and not in an enjoyable way. It wasn’t obvious in the story if it was intentional for us to like or hate her. What are some of your bookish pet peeves?

I am completely in awe of the book I am currently reading. At first, it seems like an easy story as you take in the first few pages and read the blurb. But delve deeper, and there's a whole bunch of action happening. There is a twist and turn waiting to devour you at every corner, and that's not all. Each character in this group of friends is a mystery on their own—keeping their petty secrets, living sinister and dual lives, and hiding things from their so-called friends. In the midst of it all is a tiny little girl of 6 years, caught in the mess, who vanished into thin air from a crowded London tube station. "No One Saw a Thing" by Andrea Mara is turning out to be a great read. Thank you, Penguin India, for sending across a copy of this highly entertaining book. I can't wait to get to the end of things. The Close by Jane Casey 🩸🏡 Genre: Thriller ⭐️⭐️ I really had high hopes for this book. It looked so good, but I just couldn't get into it. It felt so dragged out and too many characters to keep track of. The plot was okay, but it would have been so much better as a short thriller, in my opinion. It was way too slow for me, i like my thrillers fast-paced and jaw on the floor twists and turns. 🤯 I did really struggle to finish this book and ended up listening to the second half on audio book just to get through it. Im not a DNF kinda girl, but maybe I should be 🙈 It wasn't horrific, the concept was good but wasn't well exictued, in my opinion. I did enjoy the sections throughout that were from the perspective of an unknown character. Those sections had me engeged, but they were few and far between. I wouldn't discourage anyone from giving it a read.
