📚📚 Review time! 📚📚 One line opinion : I absolutely devoured The Midnight Feast!! Detailed review : It hooks you right from the first chapter. Not gonna lie, initially, I found it a bit difficult to understand the the different timelines, and where was this story heading, but trust me just after a few chapters, it is easy to follow. I felt the first half of the book was a slow burn, but in a really good way. I loved the atmospheric setting of The Manor, facing the Seaside, with the woods full of secrets behind. The folklore of The Night Birds was very interesting and all the characters were well introduced. The second half of the book picks up the pace really quick and there are multiple shockers, but each of them made sense, and I personally felt there were no loose ends at all! I tore through this part, and I loved it when everything came through in the end. Overall, I absolutely loved this, and the author has woven a perfect suspense thriller around The Manor. I'm really debating myself whether this should a 4.8 or 5 stars!! Swipe for the synopsis from Good reads!! A huge thanks to @harpercollinsuk for providing me the ARC of this book. I previously loved Lucy Foley's The Guest List, and could not believe that I got approved for this ARC!! AUDIOBOOK✦REVIEW 𝗧𝗶𝘁𝗹𝗲: Original Twin 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿: Paula Gleeson 𝗣𝘂𝗯 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: June 1, 2024 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: ★ ★ ★ ★ 𝙎𝙬𝙞𝙥𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨 ➭ ➭ ➭ 𝕄𝕪 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤 💭 This book has been a hot topic with my friends over at @thrillerbookloversthepulse and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. This book was a twisty and wild ride! This book is told in multiple POVs. This book gave me Gone Girl vibes, with a bit of family drama and some humor. We get to see the perspectives of twins June and May and also the perspective of their mother, Diana. The narrators, Anthea Greco and Leeanna Walsman, did a great job distinguishing between the different perspectives. They brought seriousness to May’s POV and a bit of humor to June’s POV. You could clearly tell the difference in the twins’ personalities and voice. This was a great debut novel from Paula Gleeson and I can’t wait to read more that she writes. truth truth lie review ✨ rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ thank you so much @tandemcollectiveuk for sending me a copy!! i really enjoyed this readalong 💜 this was absolutely crazy!! i don’t know what i was expecting but it wasn’t THAT. i love a confined/trapped thriller and the remote setting was such a good one. it made for so many tense, high stakes scenes! truth truth lie took morally grey characters to a whole other level. i don’t think i particularly liked any of them but damn was i invested. i’m so curious about what happened next! the resists were insane and i couldn’t believe the actions some of them took - talk about unhinged. there were so many different secrets too and i loved the way it all unfolded! the use of the different povs was so effective for highlighting everything happening, as it was so busy! the chapters from the police scattered throughout were really clever, too, alluding to what was going to happen without completely giving anything away. if you’re a fan of thrillers i think you’ll really enjoy this!! it kept me hooked throughout and i couldn’t stop reading 🤭 what’s your fav type of thriller? ✨ AD - PR PRODUCT #truthtruthlie #truthtruthliereadalong #clairemcgowanmarathon #books #bookstagram #thrillerbooks #thrillerrecommendations #thrillerreaders #thrillerreview #bookreview #bookreviewersofig

The Vacancy in Room 10 by: Seraphina Nova Glass Rating:4.5⭐️ -Cass had to start over. After her boyfriend kicked her out, she had no choice but to take a job as a handy woman at The Sycamores, a motel-turned-apartment complex on the outskirts of town. -Anna has ended up at The Sycamores in hopes of finding out what happened to her husband. After a cryptic call and an apparent suicide, she moves into his art studio to learn about his final days. -these stories intertwine, along with the lives of the other residents at The Sycamores. It seems like everyone there has a secret… * After reading the back cover, I thought I was getting a completely different story. I really enjoyed the run down motel/apartment setting, and I love the way this author writes. I dropped half a star because the ending felt rushed, but what a fun read! ** #summerreading #summerreads #summer24 #thrillerreads #thrillerreader #thrillerrecommendations #thevacancyinroom10 #seraphinanovaglass #barnesandnoble #b&n #mystery #mysterybooks #mayreads

Home is Where the Bodies Are // Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Author: Jeneva Rose I must admit that the cover of this book was one of the reasons I decided to check this book out. It’s so nostalgic and on brand for this book. I flew through this book because I was so invested in the story and needed to know how it ended. The multiple POVs worked well for me in this book. I thought all of the characters were easy to follow distinguishable from each other. I wouldn’t consider this to be the greatest thriller I’ve ever read, but I did really enjoy it. It’s a pretty short read (under 300 pages) and had me interested from the beginning. I loved the drama between the 3 siblings and the flashbacks to when they were younger. My only complaint was that I did predict the big twist pretty early on, but I thought the author did a good job with how it played out! I’d definitely recommend this book to whoever is interested in reading it!

Audiobook Review 🎧 One Of Our Own by Lucinda Berry If you love thrillers and audiobooks you have to listen to this!!! It is cut wrenchingly emotional and made even more so by the audio. A.J. Cook is the narrator and she killed it! It made it so much more real, with the way she did the phone calls! I felt like I knew where the story was going but that didn’t matter, it was about how we got there. Heartbreak everywhere. I read two books about housesitting situations in very close proximity, and here's what I learnt : don't do it for strangers. This was one of those books I loved all the different POVs we got, some in the present day of a couple who move into a long-abandoned house where murders took place many years ago, and then also people who were around at the time of the murders. I feel like it's hard to give much detail cause there are so many twisty-turny reveals and I don't want to ruin any of them! The suspense begins to be built up from page one, genuinely, and I read this in the space of a few hours because I was desperate to learn all it's secrets. It really shocked me in several places, again from that very first chapter, and I think all the different strands of the story came together to form a really satisfying mystery/thriller/suspense. There is so much going on and there is so much to love for fans of any of these genres, in my opinion. I also really loved how twisted one part of the ending I can't really talk about was, I did not expect it but I just felt like it made sense for the story. This was my first time reading from her, but I'm for sure planning to pick up more by this author 🖤🖤🖤 @fabricating_fiction @hqstories #bookstagram #ukbookstagram #thrillerbooks #thrillerrecommendations #bookrecommendations

The book is divided into three interrelated stories: Ryan who has changed his identity due to a macabre past involving his dead gf, Poppy who is the new cop investigating a cold case that has been resurrected, and the O’Leary crime family who is set to avenge everyone who influenced their son’s suicide. As is the signature storytelling with all Finlay thrillers, the settings are international and action-packed from start to end. The plot is convoluted with a million things happening all at once and not a single lull in the story. Yet the author as always, expertly weaves in everything together to a neat finish. I paired the book with audio which I highly recommend thanks to the stellar host of narrators who did a great job creating tension in the story. My personal favorite was the narration of the O’Leary chapters! Thriller lovers, do not miss this book! —— 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞! Wishing a very happy pub day to my current read If Something Happens to Me by Alex Finlay! I have read a few of Finlay’s previous books and I am expecting a fast-paced action packed thriller with a lot of characters and an intricate plot!! I saw two rave reviews from @ashleykritzer and @marekcornett and I ran to grab my NetGalley widget. Synopsis: For the past five years, Ryan Richardson has relived that terrible night. The car door ripping open. The crushing blow to the head. The hands yanking him from the vehicle. His girlfriend Ali’s piercing scream as she is taken. With no trace of Ali or the car, a cloud of suspicion hangs over Ryan. But with no proof and a good lawyer, he’s never charged, though that doesn’t matter to the podcasters and internet trolls. Now, Ryan has changed his last name, and entered law school. He’s put his past behind him. Until, on a summer trip abroad to Italy with his law-school classmates, Ryan gets a call from his father: Ali’s car has finally been found, submerged in a lake in his hometown. Inside are two dead men and a cryptic note with five words written on the envelope in Ali’s handwriting: If something happens to me… 💬 What book are you starting June with?! #coffeeandcurrentlyreading #coffeeandbooks #newbookreleases #alexfinlay #ifsomethinghappenstome #newbooktuesday #bookrecommendationsplease #happypubday #pubday #netgalley #netgalleyreads #newbookalert #thrillerbooks #thrillertuesday #thrillerrecommendations #thrillersuspense #ravereview #booksonbooksonbooks #tobereadpile

Hello rainbows! 🌈✨ “The Reappearance of Rachel Price” is a gripping mystery that unravels the enigmatic return of Rachel, a woman thought to be lost forever. As her unexpected reappearance stirs up old secrets and hidden truths, her family and friends are thrust into a whirlwind of suspense and intrigue. This captivating tale masterfully blends emotional depth with thrilling twists, keeping readers hooked until the very last page. 🔍🎬 👀 📖Book Review📖 Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4 1/2 stars) Intriguing, complex plot and really interesting characters. This book kept me on the edge of my seat with its unexpected twists. I had so many theories, all of which turned out to be completely wrong, leaving me astonished. It was a quick read and a true page-turner; right from the beginning, I was eager to find out what would happen next, and the suspense was maintained throughout the entire story. The narrative invites you to form your own theories and discover the truths alongside the main character, making it even more engaging. I wholeheartedly recommend this book and consider it a masterpiece in weaving every detail together. • WHAT NEXT • Super stoked to get my hands on @johnmarrs.author 's latest book, The Family Experiment! If you know me, you know I devour good thrillers and after having read The Marriage Act last year, I have a lot of John Marrs books on my TBR. Thank you @panmacmillanindia for sending this my way! ✨ . BLURB Some families are virtually perfect… The world's population is soaring, creating overcrowded cities and an economic crisis. And in the UK, the breaking point has arrived. A growing number of people can no longer afford to start families, let alone raise them. But for those desperate to experience parenthood, there is an alternative. For a monthly subscription fee, clients can create a virtual child from scratch who they can access via the metaverse and a VR headset. To launch this new initiative, the company behind Virtual Children has created a reality TV show called The Substitute. It will follow ten couples as they raise a Virtual Child from birth to the age of eighteen but in a condensed nine-month time period. The prize: the right to keep their virtual child, or risk it all for the chance of a real baby... . Doesn't this sound intriguing? Being the second book in the Jess Lambert series, this book hooks you with action from the very beginning. The story starts off with a car accident with Alice and her family. When Alice wakes, her family is no longer in the car and she doesn’t know whether they are alive or dead. As the story progresses, we follow the POVs of Alice, who is trying to stay afloat and deal with the trauma of being the only one of her family left, Jess the detective who is also battling her own grief while trying to solve this case, Laura -Alice’s mother, whose POV is told in the past and helps to piece the puzzle together, and finally Mel, Alice’s aunt. This fast-paced story was full of twists that had my jaw on the floor and kept me on the edge of my seat. You’re definitely gonna want to get your hands on this thriller when it releases this summer. How far would you go to keep a secret? Amy’s new neighbor Roux has unearthed a dark secret during a game of Never Have I Ever & Amy is willing to go far as far can get to keep her husband and stepdaughter from finding out. This cat and mouse game was cute and kept me entertained until the end. It was almost a DNF but if you can push through the first 3 chapters it gets much better. 𝑭𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝑳𝒊𝒆 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒔 by @ashleyelston Evie Porter is a con artist. Evie Porter is a fake identity provided by her mysterious boss, Mr. Smith. While on her current job, things are not going as they should. Evie must now try to figure out where things went wrong and who is trying to sabotage her. Did you ever watch the tv show Imposters? It only had 2 seasons before it was cancelled and I was so sad when it wasn’t renewed. This book made me so happy because it was like entering that world again. I was racing through the book trying to get answers to what was going on. I loved every minute! I slotted this as a psychological thriller and it’s been a while since I’ve read a really good one. I don’t want to say too much because the best part of psychological thrillers is reading it and experiencing it yourself but I enthusiastically recommend you read this book! Also to note, I listened to the audiobook and the narration by @saskiaaudio was phenomenal. It really added to the storyline and pacing of the book. Book Review: Gray After Dark This books was this month’s pick for @savagebookclub but of course it was too good and I couldn’t put it down 😬 so spoiler alert don’t read my review yet if you have self control and stayed with the timeline discussion 🤣 This book brings a whole new meaning to the question that’s circulating “Would you rather be stuck in the woods with a man or bear?” I had my answer before, but this book definitely solidified it for me. This is a page-turning thriller and had me hooked from the beginning. I will say it is a cringe thriller, there are some scenes that are hard to stomach for me, but still worth the read. This also hits close for me because I am a runner, and I’ve tried explaining to my husband how scared I am to go running alone. You never really know who or what is out there. Ad PR Product Book Review ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thanks to Hannah at @bwpublishing for sending me a finished copy of Life of Zanna and also for inviting me to be part of their blog tour. The blurb: “HOW LONG CAN YOU KEEP A SECRET? Paige White and Hannah 'Zanna' Zagalo used to be inseparable. After their fates intertwined at university, Zanna's rise to influencer fame beckoned and she invited aspiring journalist Paige to join the ride, to create a glamorous online persona for the Life of Zanna account that others could only drool over. Together, they lived on luxury brand deals, moving into a swanky apartment and showcasing the #softlife. But after Zanna is brutally murdered, Paige continues posting - a ghostwriter emerging from behind the scenes. Five years on, with a lavish lifestyle to maintain and bills piling up, Paige is invited to take part in a documentary about Zanna's murder - which she can't afford to turn down. Then, a strange email arrives that just reads: 'I know what you did.' As the cameras turn on Zanna's family and friends, old rumours start to resurface. Is there more to Zanna's murder than they know? And is someone hiding a secret?” My thoughts: This was an addictive thriller that really delves into the negative side of social media and life as an influencer. It also shines a light on how being an influencer can incur unwanted attention, and how some people will do whatever they can to get what they want. The novel is mainly written from Paige’s point of view, going backwards and forwards to the past before Zanna’s death and the present. Also, interspersed throughout the narrative is transcripts from the documentary. I love how innovative Hodgkin is by including this in her novel. As each transcript is given, and we’re given more information about what happened in the past, there’s various twists and turns that make this a highly enjoyable read. I will definitely check out more of Hodgkin’s work in the future. Adding this book to my “you HAVE to read this” list ✍️ Do No Harm - Jack Jordan 🩺🩸 📖𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Anna is a cardiothoracic surgeon attempting to balance being a single mother with her demanding career. She returns from work one day to find her son missing, with the instruction to kill a patient for his return. It’s her job to saves lives; but this time she must work out how to get away with murder. 💭𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: This thriller was fantastic, the first book that I’ve read by Jack Jordan and certainly won’t be the last!! A unique, over-the-top and unlikely storyline, yet the perfect binge-worthy read that was very cleverly written. Told from 3 POV’s and very short chapters, I tore through this book… and then proceeded to recommend it to anyone in my life who would listen! I can’t write too much without giving a whole pile of spoilers away, but this was so heart-pounding and action packed, and was one of my most anticipated reads which really lived up to its hype! She’s Not Sorry by @marykubica ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 Plot: Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom and working full time as an ICU nurse, when a patient named Caitlin arrives in her ward with a traumatic brain injury. They say she jumped from a bridge and plunged over twenty feet to the train tracks below. When a witness comes forward with new details about Caitlin’s fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was a crime committed? Did someone actually push Caitlin, and if so, who... and why? Meghan lets herself get close to Caitlin and her family until she’s deeply entangled in the mystery surrounding her. Only when it’s too late, does she realize that she and her daughter could be the next victims. Review: WOW all hail Mary Kubica. This was probably one of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. Review The five year lie - Sarina Bowen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Blurb She thought it was love. Then he vanished. On an ordinary Monday morning, Ariel Cafferty's phone buzzes with a disturbing text message. Something’s happened. I need to see you. Meet me under the candelabra tree ASAP. The words would be jarring from anyone, but the sender is the only man she ever loved. And it's been several years since she learned he died. Seeing Drew’s name pop up is heart-stopping. Ariel’s gut says it can’t be real. But she goes to the tree anyway. She has to. Nobody shows. But the text upends everything she thought she knew about the day he left her. The more questions she asks, the more sinister the answers get. Only two things are clear: everything she was told five years ago is wrong, and someone is still lying to her. The truth has to be out there somewhere. To safeguard herself—and her son—she’ll have to find it before it finds her. And with it, the answer to what became of Drew. If you read the prologue, you must read the entire book. That, to me, is always a good beginning of a thriller. Have I ever told you that I love books about vanished people. My God, I'm a suckered for that... especially if the person should be dead and just isn’t. So this is just a book for me. It is a well written story. It takes you all in. The end was a bit predictable, but nonetheless, a good read overall. The book is an easy read and has a gripping aspect. It is a medium-paced thriller. Yhe characters are beautifully described. This cover did not prepare me for the story it gave. THIS was good. A thriller set in the 1960’s, with two sisters running from their hometown and their hope that nothing follows them up north. Two sisters in search of a better life- one on the run from one night’s decision and the other with an unknown future ahead that she had no idea how she would get through. We get pieces of romance, racism, loss + grief. It’s a story of freedom but also self discovery within their lives together and apart. All I will say is 🥹😭😭oh, Hank🥹💚 - 📖🤓How many books would you like to read/finish before May ends? • • • #bookstagram #booksbyblackauthors #blackbookstagram #bookreview #bookrec #bookrecs #thrillerreads #thrillerrecommendations #librarybook

𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 by Olivia Muenter. Thanks to @quirkbooks for the gifted Arc ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⁣ ⁣ Hazel has always worried about her influencer sister, Evie, despite her success. Now that Evie has gone missing in the middle of a livestream, she is afraid she was right the whole time. ⁣ ⁣ I found the family dynamics of this one fascinating. I would have loved more of a look at the actual content Erin and Evie were posting, but I loved hearing about their influencer careers. I couldn’t stand Erin’s character and I’m sure most won’t. Book 35 ✨ 2024 📖 Kill For Me Kill For You 🖊️ Steve Cavanagh Is May too early to announce 📣 I think this will be one of my fave reads for the year?! This book was SO. GOOD. Every moment I wasn’t reading this book, I was wishing I was. Amanda and Wendy form a friendship and decide to seek revenge on behalf of one another on the men who destroyed their families and futures. Ruth is attacked in her kitchen by a male intruder when she is home alone. What follows is so intense, gripping and fast paced with SO many twists. It had me searching for clues on every page and everyone was a suspect! Just the perfect recipe for an outstanding psychological thriller. 👌 If this is on your (endless) tbr, move it to the top…oh and then message me and tell me what you think! I’m dying to know 👀 Loved reading this alongside my fellow thriller bookclub besties. So much fun! ❓What is a book you’d love to see as a movie? 4,5/5 🖤🖤🖤🖤🕳 #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookstagramaustria #neverendinglesestoff #akturner #toteschweigennie #bodylanguage #buchrezension #bookreview #bookrecommendation #droemerknaur #thrillerbooks #thrillerreihe #thriller #thrillerseries #crimenovel #thrillerrecommendations #bookie #bookies2024 #cassieraven #cassieravenseries

Thank you @simonbooks for this copy of The Sleepwalkers! "Still reeling from the chaos of their wedding, Evelyn and Richard arrive on a tiny Greek island for their honeymoon. It’s the end of the season and a storm is imminent. Determined to make the best of it, they check into the sun-soaked doors of the Villa Rosa. Already feeling insecure after seeing the “beautiful people,” the seemingly endless number of young models and musicians lounging along the Mediterranean, Evelyn is wary of the hotel’s owner, Isabella, who seems to only have eyes for Richard. Isabella ostensibly disapproves of every request Evelyn makes, seemingly annoyed at the fact that they are there at all. Isabella is also preoccupied with her chance to enthrall the only other guests—an American producer named Marcus and his partner Debbie—with the story of “the sleepwalkers,” a couple who had stayed at the hotel recently and drowned. Everyone seems to want to talk about the sleepwalkers, save for Hamza, a young Turkish man Evelyn had seen with some “beautiful people,” as well as the “dapper little man”—the strange yet fashionable owner of the island’s lone antiques and gift shop she sees everywhere. But what at first seemed eccentric, decorative, or simply ridiculous, becomes a living nightmare. Evelyn and Richard are separated the night of the storm and forced to face dark truths, but it’s their confessions around the origins of their relationship and the years leading up to their marriage that might save them." ⭐️: 3/5 Genre: thriller A woman who survived a college tragedy finds her life and her lies starting to unravel when a movie is green-lit about the tragic event, claiming they have new information that the investigators missed the first time around. This book was fun enough, but something about it just didn’t quite land for me. It’s a thriller, so it was easy to consume and consume quickly, but rather than finding the slow unraveling of the truth intriguing, it felt frustrating to me. Then the reveal wasn’t impactful enough to make it worth it all. I did enjoy the relationships between the survivors and backstory to all the victims. I just wish the actual mystery had been more twisty. Overall, just a run of the mill thriller for me. If you like thrillers you’ll probably enjoy it but it may not be one of the memorable ones.

Many thanks to @crimereads for including BODIES TO DIE FOR in their Most Anticipated Crime Books of Summer! I’ve been taking CrimeReads recommendations for years. It’s so exciting to see my own work mentioned here! . From the article: “I devoured this novel faster than the winner of a body-building contest drinks water after their win (a joke you’ll totally get if you dive into this searing critique of diet culture and the pressures of professional body-building). Lori Brand has had a long career in fitness that has led to her embracing strength, not weight-loss, and I’m pretty sure this book is the most physically—and emotionally—healthy thriller I’ve read in some time. I may even sign up for a boxing class now…” . #crimereads #thrillerbooks #bookrecommendations #thrillerrecommendations #chicagowriters #debutauthors #booksbooksbooks #chicagobookstagram #bodypositive #bodiestodiefor #dietculturedropout

Review The Retreat - Sarah Pearse ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Blurb Most are here to recharge and refresh. But someone's here for revenge... An eco-wellness retreat has opened on an island off the English coast, promising rest and relaxation—but the island itself, known locally as Reaper’s Rock, has a dark past. Once the playground of a serial killer, it’s rumored to be cursed. Detective Elin Warner is called to the retreat when a young woman’s body is found on the rocks below the yoga pavilion in what seems to be a tragic fall. But the victim wasn’t a guest. She wasn’t meant to be on the island at all. When a guest drowns in a diving incident the following day, Elin starts to suspect that there’s nothing accidental about these deaths. But why would someone target the guests, and who else is in danger? Elin must find the killer before the island’s history starts to repeat itself... This is the second book with Elin Warner. I read the first one, too. Loved this as much as the first one, maybe even slightly better. It was a medium paced story which was written very well. Loved how she described the island and it characters in it. You really are there in person. The story is gripping and you want to know the whole story, so you keep reading. The characters are almost real, she knows how to write a good thriller. If you want to read a good thriller, which is gripping and a one sitting, read this one! #thrillerera #thrillerbookfan #thrillerbookstagram #thrillerthursday #thrillerreader #thrillersuspense #detectivestory #thrillerrecommendations #bookreader #bookstagramuk #bookcollector #bookshelves #booknerd #booksbooksbooks #readerslife #readersofinstagram #reading #readmorebooks #readersgonnaread #readingcommunity #readreadread #readersfirst #readbooks #crimefictionthrillers #crime #crimefictionaddiction

As you may have gathered over the last few months, I am a huge fan of @clairedouglasauthor. I only have one of her books left to read now (I just started it on audio!) but what I also have is a few of her books that I've not reviewed. This one follows couple Libby and Jamie, who are participating in a house swap between their little flat in Bath and a gorgeous Cornwall cottage. They've been through a tough time as a couple lately and they need this getaway to heal their marriage, but things very quickly turn sinister and Libby starts wondering if it's linked to the secrets and skeletons in her past. Claire Douglas books always have a brilliant premise, and I was so intrigued from the outset of this. The flash forward opening piqued my interest even more and I think this might have been the fastest I've ever gotten through an audiobook (to be fair, I also had a library deadline for it but I think I'd have read it super quickly anyway! How could i have stopped listening before uncovering all the answers?!) There really is so much going on and I loved all the twists and turns that happen as the book progresses. Claire Douglas has a real talent for making my jaw drop!! I also think she's excellent at building a super sinister atmosphere and creating tension you could cut with a knife. I absolutely adore her books and wholeheartedly would recommend all those that I've read and I am also immensely enjoying my last one by her for now. Glad I'm experiencing it via audio so I can really savour every moment and draw it out a bit longer 💜 #bookstagram #ukbookstagram #thrillerbooks #thrillerrecommendations

📚📚Book Review📚📚 The Return of Ellie Black Emiko Jean 4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 The Return of Ellie Black is a real page turner of a psychological suspense novel, and I loved every minute! It’s been twenty years since Detective Chelsey Calhoun’s sister vanished when they were teenagers, and ever since she’s been searching: for signs, for closure, for other missing girls. But happy endings are rare in Chelsey’s line of work. Then a glimmer: local teenager Ellie Black, who disappeared without a trace two years earlier, has been found alive in the woods of Washington State. What follows is a wild ride, with lots of unexpected twists and turns. I loved watching Chelsey try to piece this one all together and also the ties that led to the past. Great for a fast paced Summer thriller. Looking forward to seeing what this author writes next! #bookstagram #bookreview #bookreviewersofig #thereturnofellieblack #emikojean #thrillerreads #thrillerrecommendations #whatireadinmay2024

Happy Pub Day to The Main Character! Thank you @simonbooks for the advanced copy! "A bestselling thriller author arranges a luxury train trip that is not what it appears to be in this electrifying modern homage to Agatha Christie from the author of the “tense and twisty” (Julie Clark, New York Times bestselling author) The Chateau . Reclusive, mysterious author Ginevra Ex is famous for her unusual approach to crafting her big bestselling she hires real people and conducts intensive interviews, then fictionalizes them. Her latest main character, Rory, is thrilled when Ginevra presents her with an extravagant bonus—a lavish trip along Italy’s Mediterranean coast on the famed, newly renovated Orient Express. But when Rory boards the train, she’s stunned to discover that her brother, her best friend, and even her ex-fiancé are passengers, as well. All invited by Ginevra, all hiding secrets. With each stop, from Cinque Terre to Rome to Positano, it becomes increasingly clear that Ginevra has masterminded the ultimate real life twisty plot with Rory as her main character. And as Ginevra’s deceptions mount, and the lies and machinations of Rory’s travel companions pile up, Rory begins to fear that her trip will culminate like one of Ginevra’s with a murder or two. In the opulent compartments of the iconic train, Rory must untangle the shocking reasons why Ginevra wanted them all aboard—and to what deadly end." I am so close to finishing this book and it's definitely been a very enjoyable ride! I've been loving puzzling this one up and I'm hoping a few more questions will be answered for me in these last few pages! QOTD: have you or would you take a train trip?

Would you rather run into a random man or a bear alone in the woods? After reading this book, I promise you will choose the bear. Olympic athlete Miley takes a summer job at a mountain guest lodge in the middle of the remote Frank Church Wilderness to train and make some extra money while recovering from an accident. During her morning run, she’s abducted and held captive in an off-the-grid cabin by two men. Holy SHIT. This was absolutely insane. A heart-pumping, nail-biting, anxiety-inducing, edge of your seat thriller that I completely devoured in two days. I was already Team Bear, but this book truly solidified that decision. Some people really do not understand the horrors some men are capable of. The things Miley has to endure during this book are disgusting and appalling. She quite literally says “I would have cried tears of joy to trade the past two days for a chance to face off with a bear instead of these two monsters.” I gasped, visibly cringed away from my kindle, and cried both tears of frustration and happiness all while reading this book. Did this book make me physically nauseous and want to scream? Yes. Do I recommend this book? Absolutely 100% also yes. 🌲 🐻 🌲 #bookstagram #booksta #books #booktok #read #reading #bookrecommendations #bookrecs #bookreview #bookreviewer #grayafterdark #noellewihli #thriller #thrillerbooks #manorbear #thrillerrecommendations

Follow and check out this account 👉 @awriterscauldron The John Marrs addiction is real, y’all!! I will admit that this was my first time reading John Marrs and this being a recent release, I cannot comment if it is better or worse than his previous works. What I CAN tell you tho is that I. COULD NOT STOP reading. His writing style is seriously addictive. He is such a master of pacing a story!! I genuinely cannot wait to read some of his more popular works - recommend some if you are a John Marrs fan? Coming to The Family Experiment tho… BLURB ~ The world’s population is soaring, creating overcrowded cities and an economic crisis. And in the UK, breaking point has arrived. A growing number of people can no longer afford to start families let alone raise them. But for those desperate to experience parenthood, there is an alternative. For a monthly subscription fee, clients can create a virtual child from scratch who they can access via the metaverse and a VR headset. To launch this new initiative, the company behind Virtual Children has created a reality tv show. It will follow ten couples as they raise a Virtual Child from birth to the age of eighteen but in a condensed nine-month time period. The prize: the right to keep their virtual child or risk it all for the chance of a real baby . . . It is a rare thing for a writer to create a unique, thrilling premise for a book and actually be able to follow through on it well through his writing. But this book absolutely delivers! There is no preachy ending or a very in-your-face moral lesson here. It is simply a good story that is very Black Mirror-esque and could so easily be our reality in the coming decades. Great characterisation and strong storytelling (using some of my favourite narrative devices!) made this such a wonderful read for me that I finished it in two days. Book review | Home is Where the Bodies Are | 4.5 ⭐️ I 100% judged a book by its cover. I love a classic murder mystery/missing persons thriller, and the dust jacket and sprayed edges really got me. Jeneva Rose did an excellent job of piquing my interest from the get go and keeping it. It’s fast paced, but not rushed. It’s a quick and entertaining read. Eaxh chapter you got a new look into their mom and dad’s shady behavior. Mom’s dying last words were already a whirlwind, but with more and more coming to light it was apparent they were attempting to protect someone. But who?! While I did guess the overall twist, I was still surprised by many different aspects! I 100% recommend this read ❤️ Side note: does anyone else still has VHS? My roommate has a massive collection. Title: The Housemaid’s Secret Author: Freida McFadden Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5/5) 3.5* I thought this book was great in the sense that it was a page turner and the suspense was fantastic. The plot kept me sucked in and I finished this book in one day lol However, several times I did find myself saying, “Millie, ma’am, did you learn NOTHING from before?” Also, I don’t think the relationship with Brock was necessary for the story but that’s just me. This was my first Megan Miranda novel I’ve read & it will not be the last! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I didn’t really know where the plot was going & that kept me turning the pages! I had many theories but I didn’t know which one I thought would fit best!! I’ve learned over the last few years that I just read what’s happening in a novel & let the novel take me where it’s going. My goal is to enjoy the ride!! #daughterofmine #meganmiranda #bookofthemonth #thrillerreads #thrillerrecommendations #BOTMay #booksbooksbooks #bookrecommendations #bookreview #bookreviewer #summervibesreadathon #laidbackreadathon #booksofinstagram #lanelovestoread

The John Marrs addiction is real, y’all!! Loved it! #bookstagramindia #unitedbookstagram #readersofindia #readingcommunity #booksofinstagram #booksofig #readingisfundamental #readingismagic #booksbooksbooks #bookrecommendations #bookrecs #bookreview #bibliophile #thrillerbooks #thrillerrecs #thrillerrecommendations #readersofindia #thefamilyexperiment #johnmarrs #sciencefiction #dystopian #dystopianfiction #bookstoread

New Release Thriller Recs 🔪☠️ I gave both of these books 4 stars. They didn’t blow me away but they were a solid good time 👌🏼 Everyone Is Watching by Heather Gudenkauf If you like a reality show/contest setting, I’d recommend picking this up. Although it was pretty predictable, I was entertained the whole way through and it was a fast read. Kill For Me, Kill For You by Steve Cavanagh Ok, I enjoyed this but I did not find it as mind blowing as some people have said it was. Again, a bit predictable and the clues along the way felt very convenient although it grabbed me from the beginning and was fast paced. I would recommend not reading the synopsis (I know I’m a broken record saying this but it makes the reading experience so much better). Steve Cavanagh has a really smart writing style which is always appreciated in thrillers. 🩸 Review Time 🩸 The Favorite Girl: 💋💋💋💋💋/ 5 Welp, I officially have a new favorite book by @monicaaryaauthor!! I continue to be surprised by how twisty and disturbing Monica’s brain works. 😂😂 The Favorite Girl has two trigger warning pages. You read that correctly…TWO. If you are not easily triggered or read the warnings and think you can handle it, RUN, do not walk, to purchase this book! Direct messages I sent to Monica while reading… 27% in…on chapter 17…and I’m DISTURBED. I have no idea where this is going and I’m scared. 😅 50% and wtf am I reading 😂😂😂 #Bookstagram #AnxiousReader #FavoriteBooks #ThrillerRecommendations #FiveStarReads #SummerReads #MonicaArya #TheFavoriteGirl #DarkThriller

It wasn’t a masterpiece nor become an instant favorite, but this woman does not fail at writing stories that has you guessing every damn character, going back and re-reading certain moments because you think you missed something - The Coworker kept me on the edge with its darkness & beautiful suspense as it unwraps a twisted story about the past and present, about obsession and need to get revenge no matter what. Some parts were too exaggerating, some characters annoying but at the end, another fantastic read by the brilliant Freida McFadden. #thecoworker #freidamcfadden #bookrecommendations #bookreview #booksbooksbooks #thrillerbooks #thrillerera #bookstagram #bookishgirlschat #booksofinstagram #booksofig #booksofinsta #bookstagrammer #bookblog #ilovebooks #readmorebooks #lovebooks #booknerd #booklife #booklover #booklover #bookworm #bookishlove #bookphotography #thrillerreads #thrillerrecommendations

• NEW THRILLER ALERT • I have had so many of @marykubica ’s books on my TBR over years, it’s not even funny that I haven’t read any of her books yet. But I finally got my hands on her latest, She’s Not Sorry! Thank you @harpercollinsin for sending this gorgeous copy my way! 💜 BLURB An ICU nurse accidentally uncovers a patient’s frightening past in this chilling thriller. Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom to a teenage daughter and working as a full time nurse. While on duty at the hospital one day, a patient named Caitlin arrives in a coma with a traumatic brain injury, having jumped from a bridge and plunging over twenty feet to the train tracks below.  But when a witness comes forward with shocking details about the fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was Caitlin  pushed  and if so, by whom and why?  Meghan has always tried to stay emotionally detached from her patients, but this time, she mistakenly lets herself get too close until she’s deeply entangled in Caitlin’s and her family’s lives. Only when it’s too late, does she realize that she and her daughter could be the next victims. . . . #QoTD What’s your go to genre? 💜 If you know me or track my reads, you know I binge on thrillers and romcom books a lot! . . . . . #shesnotsorry #marykubica #newrelease #bookmail #bookworm #bookishfeatures #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #booklove #readersofig #readersofinstagram #bookphotography  #flatlayphotography  #bookishflatlays  #flatlaybooks  #flatlayoftheday  #flatlaygoals  #bookishphotography  #bookstagram  #bookishcommunity  #bookishfeatures  #fantasyrecommendations #thrillerrecommendations #bookstagramindia  #indianbookstagrammer  #bookgram  #bookishposts  #womenwhoread

She’s Not Sorry by Mary Kubica I AM SHOOK! This was so incredibly wild. The last quarter of the book was just one twist after another and I’m sitting here winded after making it through to the end. This will definitely be a contender for my fave thriller of the year! I definitely recommend!! I really enjoyed Sarah Bonner's first book Her Perfect Twin (which I read in November with @charlottesomewherebooks and still haven't reviewed, whoopsie daisies 🙈), so I was very excited to read her second. I think I may have loved it even more! We initially follow a woman named Helena, who has an almost-perfect life apart from her hideously nasty mother-in-law; she's happily married and has a successful career as an influencer/personal stylist. Then she starts getting blackmail notes and everything very quickly begins to crumble around her. This feels wrong to tell you, even though it's in the blurb and therefore not a spoiler, but halfway through we swap to her best friend Thea's perspective. She doesn't buy that Helena's death at the end of part 1 was an accident... and she's out for revenge. I loved both our leading ladies for totally different reasons- I loved Helena's kindness but refusal to let people take their mistreatment of her too far, and Thea's absolutely badass. My favourite, however, was Jen- a side character who we also get a perspective from who there is so much more to than meets the eye in such an interesting way. There are so many killer twists and turns in here, that I was always gasping at every reveal and just couldn't put this down. I also laughed a lot reading this- the humour hugely appealed to me- and that sense of always having the rug pulled from under you when you thought you'd worked things out was so much fun to experience too. I think this is a really addictive, enjoyable thriller that would be perfect to read on holiday (not what I did, btw, but it had those vibes even though I was lying in bed under a blanket) Also, and I posted this on my stories at the time, it makes me so happy when authors include references to their previous books. I did a squeal about the mention of Leah in this and also the mention of a dog named Lily (the name of the author's absolutely beautiful dog 🐕) I absolutely cannot wait to see what comes out next from Sarah, but regardless of whatever it may be, I can guarantee I'll be reading it 🩷 @sarahbonner101 #bookrecommendations #bookstagram #ukbookstagram #thrillerrecommendations

🔲Thriller Thursday 🔲 I’ve been on a romance reading roll lately but when I need a little suspense or ‘who done it moment’ I always refer to thriller books! These are the top thriller books I recommend to anyone who is looking for a good thriller read. I enjoy anything that keeps me guessing and has me questioning what I just read 🤯 These authors also happen to be autobuy authors for me when it comes to thriller reads! They each have something unique the way they develop their stories and keep the reader guessing as to how the story might end - which I love since it always keeps at the edge of my seat while reading! #Qotd: which thriller reads do you recommend? #thrillerthursday #thrillerreads #thrillerreadersofinstagram #thrillerbooks #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bookblogger #bookblog #bookstagramblogger #canadianbookbloggers #bookishcanadians #readersofinstagram #thrillerreader #thrillerrecommendations #booklover #bookrecommendations #bookstagraminfluencers #bookinfluencer #bookphotography #bookphoto #thrillerflatlay #thrillerflatlaythursday

Thriller Thursday ft. Lisa Jewel None of this is True ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Two women who, by chance run into each other at a restaurant, learn they are birthday twins. Their coincidental meeting turns into a podcast in which shared confidences become the motive for murder. Watching You Melville Heights is a prestigious community in England but behind the attractive facade someone is watching and waiting. Who is the victim? Who is the murderer? In this little town, everyone has secrets and snooping is everyone’s pastime. None of this is True was my first Lisa Jewel book and her writing was so addictive! I enjoyed it and I am looking forward to getting around to reading Watching You. 💭 Do you have a favorite Lisa Jewel book? #lisajewell #noneofthisistrue #watchingyoulisajewell #noneofthisistruelisajewell #suspensethriller #thrillerbooks #mysterybooks #twofortuesday #authorspotlight #thrillerbookstagram #thrillerrecommendations #thrillerreview #bookreviewer #bookreviews #bookrecommendation #bookspotlight #lisajewellauthor

A Wednesday write up on Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series - by Alex 📚 The Robert Langdon books are one of my favourite book series. They’re fast-paced, rip roaring thrillers that you can’t put down. Each one picks on a particular topic of intrigue from the Illuminati to the origin of mankind, stopping off at the holy grail, the Freemasons and Dante’s Inferno along the way. Picking apart the fact from fiction can sometimes be challenging but each one offers scope for further research. Mini review x 2: - The Maid - Nita Prose ⭐️⭐️⭐️ “I’ll never understand it, why people find the truth more shocking than lies” Molly Gray begins her day like most, dusting her way through the rooms at the regency grand hotel. Unfortunately for Molly, suite 401 holds more than dirty bed linen & smudged mirrors - there lies the body of the notorious Mr Black. As things develop it’s clear not all is as it seems, but if anyone can uncover the secrets beneath the surface - it’s the maid. - None of this is true - Lisa Jewell ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Do not claim that you are anything other than what you are” While out celebrating her 45th birthday, podcaster Alix is approached by an unassuming woman named Josie. She is as she puts it a perfect candidate for the podcast as she is on the cusp of exceptional changes in her life. After several interviews, Alix becomes unsettled and delves into the real life of Josie Fair - as expected, nothing is as it seems & some dark secrets start to unravel. I was obsessed with the way this was written, it’s a live account alongside a Netflix documentary extract and some live interviews. It had me on tender hooks & it’s the biggest page turner I’ve read in a long time. Prepare to be hooked! #lisajewellbooks #themaid #noneofthisistrue #thrillerbooks #ukbookreview #thrillerrecommendations #bookrecommendation #bookreview #bookstagrambookclub

This book was told from multiple POVs, settings, and timelines. From the beginning, I was drawn into the mystery of what happened to the girlfriend. I was immediately invested and wanted to see how this story played out. There was so much going on but it all tied together so well. This story takes you on a wild ride and has you really questioning characters trying to figure out who you can trust and not trust. I loved the narrators.
