I hesitated to post this because I wrote this non-fiction story in first person and it is not my story to tell. It's about one of the early videos that came out, of some children stuck in their home, which has become rubble. They're screaming and crying. Suddenly, one of them points at a burning figure and lets out a blood-curdling scream. It's their father, burning. The eldest daughter pulls away her younger siblings, sobbing, so they may not watch the horrendous scene. I tried to put myseld under her shoes and found it extremely hard to concentrate. All I could focus on was terror, confusion and the loss of both family and home. I took the prompt (have you seen my head by the amazing @poem.sbylex ) seriously and allowed this poem to be as messy and confusing it could be, justifying it with the thought that if I am to battle with my sanity, the only persistent thing would be pain, not the structure and tone of the poem. This is only a feeble attempt to share one of the most devastating scenes I've seen with my eyes. The real horror, I cannot even comprehend. Free 🍉! I got the inspiration to write this a few days ago right in the middle of finishing another poem. I followed the nudging and created this one before the other was completed. Thomas Merton said, “Every moment and every event of every man’s lfe on earth plants something in his soul. For just as the wind carries thousands of winged seeds, so each moment brings with it germs of spiritual vitality that come to rest imperceptibly in the minds and wills of men and women. Most of theses unnumbered seeds perish and are lost, because men and women are not prepared to receive them:for such seeds as theses cannot spring up anywhere except in the soil of freedom, spontaneity and love.” A day after following the spontaneity I saw this cool cloud that looked like a musical note. 🐈⬛ The Cat in the Caff The cat sat in the Slaggs Cafe, she licked it very much. Her paws purrused the decor, it had a hint of hutch. She felt a little oversized, fur it was such a squeeze, it would be a catastrophe if she were to sneeze. A full house was a feat indeed though not with one mouth solely, one that mewed for tuna melt and sardine roly poly. The Slaggs tried hard to shoo her out but Dobby swished away, she was a feline squatter in the latest cat cafe.
