I chose the bear. . . Had to hop on the man vs bear discourse. When I first heard this question I was really on the fence, but the more I thought about it and heard other people’s takes the bear became the clear choice. A bear is so much more predictable and there’s a much higher chance it will just leave you alone. Even if the man is “nice”, I doubt he’ll just ignore you, and not going to lie, I’d choose the bear over that any day. Either way, there’s a good chance you won’t be attacked, but that’s not the point of the question. The point is, that most women are far too aware of the kind of damage a man can inflict, and that kind of trauma can impact you for life. It can damage your ability to form safe and healthy relationships. It can isolate you from your family and friends. It can make you feel unsafe in your own body. The kind of trauma another person can inflict on you is far worse than anything a bear could ever do.
