My client A fell in love with her body without needing to change the way it looked. ❤️ Client A came to me feeling deeply disconnected and uncomfortable in her own body. She had an active lifestyle and careful eating habits but found herself gaining weight uncontrollably, which led to intense feelings of shame and self-loathing. Every time she looked in the mirror she would think, ‘What is wrong with me? Why am I gaining weight like crazy?’ When A started the Gutsy Reboot protocol, everything changed for her. On the EXACT same day that she started it, her bloating disappeared, and the pain she used to feel after eating was gone. She didn’t even realize until this point that it wasn’t normal to feel pain after eating. But the best part of Client A’s transformation wasn’t that she had a huge weight loss or completely changed the shape of her body. Client A began to see her body with compassion rather than judgment. The realization that she was dealing with food sensitivities helped her to fall in love with her body again and nourish it with foods that made her feel good. She was finally able to let go of the constant mental chatter about every piece of food she ate, and she could stop checking every label when she went to the grocery store. If you are tired of the constant battle with your body image, losing weight isn’t going to magically solve this. Your relationship with your body changes once you start to understand it better and give it what it needs. If you want to experience this overwhelming love for your body but need help doing this, then DM me the word ‘coaching’ to learn about how I can help you on this journey towards self-love and acceptance. 💞 . . . #bodypositivity #foodfreedom #healthjourney #selflove #intuitiveeating #freedom #diet #peacewithfood #healing #loveyourbody #wellnessjourney #selfcompassion #nourishment #healthandwellness #bodyimage #empowerment

A quick but extremely important reminder for you to save and share. ❤️ This may sound surprising, but it is healthier to enjoy your favorite foods than to think about how you shouldn’t eat them. Your best body is not your smallest body. Your best body is the one you have when you are not always thinking about food and losing weight. 🙌 Thank you for the reminder, @rachel_rambles_ Follow @redefine_wellness_ for more anti-diet reminders. ✨

I am NOT saying that parents are to blame for binge eating, NOR am I saying that it's wrong to use food in any of these ways at times. What I am saying is for SOME people, if food was the MAIN OR ONLY way that parents responded to childhood needs, this CAN be a useful concept and a piece of the puzzle 💚🌻

🍅 Hearty Tomato and Pepper Stew with Einkorn Sourdough 🍞 Ingredients: 1 bag of frozen chopped onions 1 bag of frozen peppers 1 can of chopped tomatoes (no added sugar) 5-8 fresh tomatoes, chopped into big chunks 6 large eggs Sea salt flakes and pepper to taste Homemade einkorn sourdough bread Instructions: In a large pot, combine the frozen chopped onions, frozen peppers, and can of chopped tomatoes. Add the fresh tomatoes (chopped into big chunks) to the pot. Place the pot over medium heat and cook for 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Now, the secret: add six eggs, but do not stir immediately. Let them sit for about two minutes without stirring. This prevents the eggs from breaking up too much and ensures a beautiful texture. Season the stew with sea salt and pepper to taste. Serve this comforting dish with slices of your homemade einkorn sourdough bread. Enjoy the rich flavors and nourishing goodness! 🌿🍳🥖 Bon appétit! 😊 #foodaddict #healthylifestyle #peacewithfood

3 Things That Can Go Wrong with Your Relationship with Movement:⁣ 1️⃣ Movement feels like a chore you have to do. ⁣ 2️⃣ You regularly overexercise, causing stress and pushing your body too far, working against it rather than with it. ⁣ 3️⃣ You don’t have options you actually enjoy and believe only activities like running or the gym counts as movement.⁣ ⁣ (Ps. It can be easy to get caught up in the narrative that weight loss is attainable for everyone if they "just work hard enough." In reality, a variety of uncontrollable elements factor into the size of someone's body, including genetics and health conditions. No matter how much you try to change your body, your eating disorder will never be satisfied with the results. True contentment comes from finding peace with food and appreciating your body exactly as it is. 🧡💛 [Image Description: Slide 1: Text reads: "Even if everyone followed the same diet, exercise, and weight loss trends..." I used to filter my all my health choices through this question: “Will this make me skinny? 🤔 But the irony was... chasing skinny did not produce a healthy version of myself. Instead, I was someone who struggled sleeping at night and spend her days on a mood rollercoaster with little to no energy and zest for life. As it turned out, starving myself all day (and bingeing on a weekly basis because it is almost inevitable when you’re running on such a severe caloric deficit) is far from my definition of healthy. Over the last 10 years or so, however, my priorities have shifted and I’m now eager to develop different qualities within myself. I still want to put my best version forward 🌼 And health does remain one of my core values. But I understand now that my weight or measurements are not an accurate reflection of my worth as a person. Even on the days when I struggle with my body image, deep down I know this. I want to be SO MUCH more in this one life I get to live. I want to be strong, kind, resilient, optimistic and sharp. I'm still on my way, but these things I do help me become a healthier version of myself. How about you, what are you after these days? . . . . #HealthWithoutObsession #UnDiet #WomenWellbeing #PeaceWithFood #BalanceWithFood #HealthWithoutDiets #DisorderedEatingRecovery

I went from skinny to skinny fat to fit… Gained 15+ lbs after my first bodybuilding show. After years of dieting and no smart plan after the prep diet… my body had enough 🙅🏻‍♀️ and I started to experience things like… 😖 Weight gain 🤬 PMS symptoms 🫤 No appetite (still gaining weight) 🙈 Clothes didn’t fit 😵‍💫 Inflammation and puffiness 🤮 Terrible digestion This is what I see happen in women who have dieted for years, or maybe their whole life. Did you know that dieting longterm can actually be worse than over eating?? Crazy right. I know you want to figure it out and feel GOOD again. Have your clothes fit. Have good energy. Get your glow back ✨ Have easy peasy periods with little to no PMS (yes it’s very possible!) Have perfect poops 💩 And be able to wear anything you damn well please because you look and feel so good and don’t feel the need to hide parts of your body anymore 💁🏻‍♀️ To do this, you might need to EAT MORE. I’m going to teach you exactly what this looks like in my upcoming BODY RECOMP STRATEGY MASTERCLASS🔥 The free masterclass made for the woman who is over the fad diets and desires a sustainable method of transforming her body into a lean, strong, fat-burning machine. It’s happening next Sunday, May 26 (replay will be available if you can’t attend live) Drop an emoji to get access 👇🏼 P.S. if you are ready for a high-touch customized plan to get in the best shape of your life, I have 1:1 coaching spots open. This past week I had a client that told me how Weight Watchers counts frozen blended fruit as more points than fresh whole fruit because it has more sugar in it. That is just simply not true. There is no method of preparing any food that can make that food magically create more of a nutrient than when it started. To ensure this, double check the ingredients and if sugar is an ingredient, it will be in the nutrition facts and ingredient list. Keep in mind that fruit has naturally occurring sugar, frozen, fresh, blended, or dehydrated.
Frozen fruit can also be a great option due to accessibility and less food waste from it staying good for longer compared to fresh. Did you know that frozen fruits are also picked at peak ripeness and flash frozen, and therefore are extremely nutrient dense due to this preservation system?
 The only difference between blended fruit and whole fruit is that the fiber is broken down a little more in the blending process, which makes it easier to absorb nutrients more quickly. It does not magically add more sugar or more calories than the equivalent in whole fruit. • • • • • #intuitiveeatingdietitian #intuitiveeatingcoach #dietculturesucks #dietingsucks #dietsdontwork #eatingdisorderrecovery #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeater #dietitian #registereddietitian #rdapproved #dietculturedropout #antidiet #antidietculture #allfoodsfit #peacewithfood #joyfulmovement #effyourbeautystandards #effyourbodystandards #relationshipwithfood #charlottedietitian #faddietsdontwork #eatingdisorderdietitian #intuitiveeatingjourney #gentlenutrition #bingeeatingdisorder #relationshipwithfood

5/17/2024, 9:09:17 PM

Whole and Refined(white) grain products both have their place in a balanced diet and offer different nutritional benefits depending on the situation.   In certain situations, one type of grain may be more suitable than the other. For instance, athletes or individuals with high energy needs may benefit from the quick energy release provided by refined grains, especially before, during, or after intense exercise.   However, when it comes to overall health and disease prevention, whole grains are often recommended. They provide essential nutrients and fiber that support digestive health, heart health, blood sugar management and therefore help lower the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.   Ultimately, the key is balance and variety in your diet. Incorporating a mix of whole grains and refined grains allows you to enjoy the benefits of both while meeting your nutritional needs and personal preferences. • • • • • #intuitiveeatingdietitian #intuitiveeatingcoach #dietculturesucks #dietingsucks #dietsdontwork #eatingdisorderrecovery #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeater #dietitian #registereddietitian #rdapproved #dietculturedropout #antidiet #antidietculture #allfoodsfit #peacewithfood #joyfulmovement #effyourbeautystandards #effyourbodystandards #relationshipwithfood #charlottedietitian #faddietsdontwork #eatingdisorderdietitian #intuitiveeatingjourney #gentlenutrition #bingeeatingdisorder #relationshipwithfood

Hard work, commitment, and consistency will outweigh genetics most of the time 🧬 Even when it seems like your favorite fit girl has the “perfect” body and doesn’t lift. With the right program, the right nutrition, dedication to the process + lots of time putting in the work, you can build your glutes and get some abs too 👀 But it’s not about having the PERFECT plan, it’s about mastering the right HABITS… 💫 mentally 💫 physically 💫 emotionally So instead of zoning in on trying to lose that 5 lbs you’re stressing about, focus on creating the right habits and the rest will come together. (Swipe for the habits I’ve found to be true for successful, fit women) What habit are you working on? Lemme know 👇🏼

5/16/2024, 7:02:34 PM

What boundary could you work on setting and protecting more? Sometimes the most impactful action for our physical and mental health is actually not DOING something more, but setting a boundary.  Reducing the body comments and the diet talk is not only helpful for your own mental health and food relationship...but it helps to the set the stage to raise your children in an environment that can teach them to trust their body around food. Ensuring that your own feeding doesn't take a backseat to the needs of everyone else's (a way too common occurrence). Your eating matters. It's what gives you the energy to do all of the other things you probably view as more important.  Protecting your need to sleep, take a rest day, or decline visitors can allow your body to heal and recover and is a practice that will continue to serve you long after your baby is sleeping through the night. And PS these can apply no matter what stage of life you're in! What boundary are you working on? #postpartumnutrition #postnatalnutrition #fourthtrimester #boundaries #antidiet #intuitiveeating #newmomlife #newbornmom #momoflittles #edrecovery #peacewithfood

Today I had a craving for a piece of cake 🍰 . So I went out and bought myself a slice, I ate the cake, mindfully, consciously and without any sense of guilt about what I was doing. I ate part of the slice, felt satisfied and full, and saved the rest for later. I enjoyed it fully with a nice cup of tea, and moved on with my day, not giving it another thought. Not feeling like I had to “burn it off” or “make up for it” in what I ate later or get “back on track” tomorrow. I didn’t feel ashamed or like I’d been “bad”. To me, this is what food freedom feels like. In the past if I had a craving for something sweet, like cake, first of all I wound never let myself eat it, because I HAD to be “healthy”! And if I “caved” and actually did indulge my craving, I would feel so guilty, like I’d actually done something morally wrong! I would NEVER have been able to eat PART of a slice of cake! I’d scarf down the whole thing (because who knows when I’d let myself eat cake again?) And since I’d eaten a piece of cake, I figured I already blew it, so I might as well eat all the other foods I wasn’t normally allowed. And before you knew it, it had turned into a full on binge. Which one is bringing you the most food and body peace right now? 1. Stress release outside of food/drink; 2. Meal planning/prep systems; 3. Joyful movement. Comment 1, 2, or 3. 👇🏽 . Over the weekend, I sat next to a lovely woman on the airplane. When she asked what I did, I introduced her to Intuitive Eating. No pun intended, but she ate it up! . If I were to describe #intuitiveeating in just three principles (instead of 10), this is how I would describe it. . #makepeacewithfood #peacewithfood #healthyrelationshipwithfood #intuitiveeatingofficial #intuitiveeatingcoach #dietitiantips

I wrote this blog post a while back that deserves a shout out. 😊 It discusses the myths surrounding calorie counting and why it may not be as effective in measuring our calorie consumption. Check it out for some great insights! https://www.intuitiveeating4life.com/blog⠀ ⠀ Below is a section from my post. ⠀ ⠀ "When trying to lose weight, many people count calories using an app. The idea is that the listed calorie counts for each food are correct, and this info guides your weight-loss plan. ⠀ ⠀ However, these calorie counts aren't perfect because they're based on research from nearly 120 years ago by William Atwater. ⠀ ⠀ Even though Atwater's system is still the main way to figure out calories in weight loss apps and on food labels, subsequent research has discussed the inaccuracy of Atwater's system.⠀ ⠀ This inaccuracy happens because Atwater’s system doesn’t consider things like the thermic effect of food, various components in the food, and how each person's body works. ⠀ ⠀ These problems make the "calories in and calories out" method for weight loss less effective. Let's see why calorie counts for food can be wrong."⠀ ⠀ Read more here 👇⠀ ⠀ https://www.intuitiveeating4life.com/blog⠀ ⠀ #intuitiveeatingcounselor#antidiet#dietculture#peacewithfood#trustyourbody

Happy Mother’s Day from Redefine Wellness! 🌸 How a parent views food and their body can significantly impact how a child sees food and their own body, but it is never too late to teach your child that their body has nothing to do with their worth. It may not feel easy teaching your child the opposite of how you may have grown up thinking about weight, food, and calories, but breaking the cycle is worth it and will benefit you and your child. ❤️ Tweet via @nofoodfears Follow @redefine_wellness_ to learn more ways to have a diet-free home. ✨

Repost from @veritascollaborative • Orthorexia is a disordered eating pattern that involves an unhealthy obsession with “clean” eating that can disrupt your mental, social, and physical well-being. Are you ALWAYS thinking about food? 💭🍫 Maybe at breakfast, you immediately think about what’s for lunch. And at lunch you think about what’s for dinner. And at dinner you think about what you’ll eat the next day. Maybe your brain is like a database of memorized calories or macros. You wake up & wonder if the day will be good or bad based on what you eat. You literally cannot stop thinking about “bad” food in the house until it’s eaten or it’s gone.😩 Obsessive food thoughts are one of the biggest complaints I hear from clients & this post shares 6 reasons why I often see these obsessive thoughts happening! In my group coaching program, my team & I help our clients heal their relationships with food so they can stop thinking about food 24/7, free up precious mental space, & enjoy food again without guilt. Recently in one of my last group coaching sessions, one of our clients shared that her husband brought her home a slice of cheesecake 🍰. In the past, she would have thought about this darn cheesecake nonstop until it was gone, but this time was different. She actually forgot about it in the fridge, ate some when she wanted, & moved on after! The cheesecake didn’t consume her & this is definitely a sign of how much progress she’s made.🙌 Tired of thinking about food 24/7 & want to free up precious mental space? Take my free quiz & discover the truth about your food obsession! Comment MENTAL SPACE & I’ll send you the quiz 🎉 Don’t feel comfy commenting? Send me a DM with the words MENTAL SPACE instead.💕

Leave a 🥪below if you agree with the ⬆️statement. Diet culture often demonizes carbs, like bread, and makes people feel guilty for eating it. 🍞 We want to let you in on a secret. 🤫If you deprive yourself of your favorite foods, you will likely spend a lot of your time thinking about it, so eating bread with your sandwich is healthier. What’s your favorite kind of sandwich? 🤔 Follow @redefine_wellness_ to learn more about honoring your hunger and food freedom. ✨

One topic that often comes up in my sessions with clients is grief 💔   Grief has a way of showing up in our bodies and in our relationship with food that many women have difficulty spotting.   The most common reaction to the manifestation of grief in our lives is to think there’s something wrong with us.   Very often, an “illogical” desire for more food while knowing we aren’t hungry can be a response to grief.   For some women, grief visits in the form digestive symptoms, tightness in the body, low energy, desires for sweets, and other inexplicable pains.   Because grief can be quite abstract but manifests in different ways in our physical bodies, it can often leave us confused and under the impression that something is wrong with us.   While we often think, grief can only be present when we go through big shifts in life and events such as the passing of a loved one, going through a divorce or things of this sort, in truth, we grieve in many ways and at many times of our lives.   Change is a natural part of life, and with it often comes grief:   💜 We grieve the changes in our bodies 💜 We grieve the friends we lose over time 💜 We grieve as careers evolve or come to an end 💜 We grieve changing family dynamics 💜 We may grieve changes in our surroundings and our environment 💜 We grieve when we leave places and with them their people, culture, language, and traditions, just to name a few...   When I coach women through difficult experiences in their relationship with food, I invite them to see and acknowledge when they are experiencing grief.   There’s something powerful in voicing an emotion.   And from there, extending ourselves the grace to stay with it as it travels and runs its course.   While emotional eating may not magically go away by practicing this technique, it will certainly create a little bit of space so you can hold yourself with compassion.   There’s nothing more human than experiencing emotions, but knowing how to treat yourself with kindness as you navigate them is an act of empowerment #HealthWithoutObsession #UnDiet #WomenWellbeing #PeaceWithFood #BalanceWithFood #HealthWithoutDiets #Fitness #SelfImage
