It’s the weekly work out challenge. In this week set, we will do a very quick Tabata workout. It will consist of only 3 exercises (burpees, squat jumps and push up). So start with the burpees and do 20 seconds as many reps as you can followed by 10 sec recovering. Repeat it 8 times. So 4 minutes in all. Rest 90 secs on move on to the next! 🏉 Conditioning Series 🏉 🔥 Getting Specific with the RHINOS! 🔥 It is vital that your conditioning mimics your sport. That's why 1 hour + slow jogs around the streets are prity much a thing from the past (pre pandemic!!). When designing effective conditioning programmes for my players I will always aim to ensure its transferable to game situations...whether it be distances covered, intensities, repeated efforts, work:rest ratios etc. It is important there is a reason for everything that you do. Here is a great little drill used by @leedsrhinos Repeated effort shuttle runs of 10m (an average distance for a hit up or line speed in defence) incorporating a down up on every turn making it highly specific to Rugby League. There are also 6 reps just like a set of 6 in play. Finishes with a 60m sprint as a team. This simulates a kick chase on the last tackle when you are already blowing! It is these efforts and teamwork that wins games! You trained legs on Saturday and on Sunday you aren't able to walk then sitting on a toilet seat is like hell! . Your quards and hamstrings doesn't even ready to make you stand at your own legs . You starts continuously feeling that mitha mitha dard and it feels like having rest for the entire day , Right? . But this isn't a right approach to deal with pain coz you need to know the reason behind that good pain . . Glucogen which we use as a fuel to perform exercise for energy to muscle contraction by breaking itself , produce a by-product called Lactic acid (LA) and with the accumulation of that lactic acid , muscle experiences fatigue and beyond certain concentration of LA muscle start refusing contractions. When we have rest after that , the LA present in muscles stay there and hurt more then muscle show unwillingness to do activities. . . What actually we should do is stretching , mordrate walk or jogging, aerobic workout , cycling coz the muscles , liver , kidney can use up the lactic acid in the abundance of continuous oxygen supply. . . . .
