As destiny played out we met through mutual contacts during a recent trip to Buenos Aires ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท. Carlos welcomed my wife and I to the national sports development center (CENARD) for a tour of the facilities and even had the chance to do a โ€œmini-sprintโ€ clinic for his two kids โ€”> they are great! Mr. Gats is quite the accomplished individual, having competed twice in the Olympics (1996/2000) and set national records in both the 100 and 200 meters as well as the indoor 200 and 60 meter records during his career. Personal Bests 100 meters (10.23) 200 meters (20.37) He speaks highly of the American sprint system and the results we have produced over the years. Carlos is a speed development specialist and has trained athletes in other disciplines such as field hockey and the modern Pentathlon (this includes equestrian) - WOW! How To Plan Training With Stress In Mind - The General Adaptation Syndrome Model is used to describe the nature and effects of stress. It was developed by Hans Selye in 1956 and has significance on training theory. The model identifies two forms of stress: 1) Eustress which is beneficial stress that produces growth, performance and repair. 2) Distress which is the negative stress that causes decay, damage, disease and death. Training is a process whereby the body is continually exposed to a period of stress to enable it to efficiently cope with future exposure to that type of stress. This means that training enables the body to recover and grow during the rest phases following exercise. Optimal progress is made if the increased loading phases are followed periodically with decreased loading phases. This is our "eustress". Repeated increases from workout to workout may lead to overtraining, stagnation or injury which puts the body into "distress". Skater for Stability 5. Reactive Skater 6. Skater with Contralateral Reach 7. Skater to Vertical - These are very basic jumps that will be prescribed with tons of volume.
