1x Gold 🥇 2x Silber 🥈🥈 So lautet die beeindruckende Bilanz mit der unsere beiden SVA-Athleten Marco und Michl nach drei Tagen Wettkampf von der Masters-Straßenlauf-EM auf Porto Santo zurückkehren! 🏃♂️🏃♂️ Zusammen mit Marco Neumann von der TSG Schwäbisch Hall bildeten sie das deutsche M40-Team bei dieser EM und konnten bereits am ersten Tag über die 10 km Silber für sich verbuchen. Am zweiten Wettkampftag zeigte das Trio dann, was wirklich in ihnen steckt! Sie ließen alle anderen Staffeln hinter sich und holten den Europameistertitel!! 🍾🍾 Trotz schwerer Beine gingen die Drei dann auch beim abschließenden Halbmarathon nicht leer. 2024 Men’s Hurdle Recap This squad was my biggest hurdle squad I have ever coached. Created some challenges with not every one of them competing in both hurdles. But thanks to the patient and hard work of these young men, we made one hell of a season on the men’s hurdles. For the second year in a row De Anza’s mens hurdlers scored the most points at conference in both the 110mh and 400mh, having 3 men’s place in both events. Daniel Chen had one hell of a season, becoming Coast Conference Champ in both the 110mh and 400mh. Going on to NorCal and placing 3rd in the 110mh and 5th in the 400mh, contributing huge to our 1st place Mens NorCal championship. Then going to state, running the race of his life in the 110mh finishing 6th with a time of 14.82 earning All-State and placing himself as the 3rd fastest in School History. Decathlete Jeffrey struggled in hurdles all of his college career, but this year I got to work with him for the first time. We were on to something mid season but an injury to his toe set him back. Towards the end of the season something clicked. And at state Jeffrey ran a life time best of 18.46 dropping 2 seconds from his start of the season. 6253 De Anza’s new decathlon school record! The only right way to recap the meet is to start by thanking the people that got me here. Coach Mattis, Jerry, Gabe, Wade, Kevin, Dom, Buncic, Alyxx, and Dylan, thank you for all the time and energy you’ve given me through my career at De Anza. Not only making me physically one of the best athletes I could be but also keeping me mentally strong and believing in me through this whole journey. The score and the record aren’t mine, it’s all of ours and I am truly blessed to share it with the best Coaches! The competition this year was the best that I’ve seen, and without it I don’t think any of us would have been able to push ourselves to this level. But I also know this is just the start and there’s a lot of improvement to be made!
