My FAVOURITE HIP THRUST SEQUENCE 🔥🔥🔥 When I hip thrust I like to do 3 sets 1st set I do around 12-15 reps contracting as much as I can throughout the entire range of motion. Don’t forget to squeeze your glutes also in the eccentric while going down and pausing in the stretch! 2nd set I go much heavier for 10-12 reps 3rd and last set I go to failure! About 10 reps as heavy as I can still contracting glutes. When I can’t complete a full rep , I continue on partials reps at bottom going only as high as I’m able to. Then I keep going bodyweight contracting even more, going for a bigger range of motion at bottom on stretch and locking out higher up. After 10 reps, I do abductions, keeping chest out as up right as possible for 15-20 reps. I bring my knees in completely so they touch to work lengthened part of the glutes. Try it out 🔥🔥

ADDING MASS TO THE ASS 🍑 But also some truly life changing things that have happened in the past 5 months of working with Bri 🤍 Bri came to me with a lot of past issues around food, poor gut health, heavy use of laxatives to go to the bathroom every day, BE, severe restriction, PCOS, hypothyroidism, crippling anxiety. And in just 4 months - we’ve completely flipped who Bri is as a human being. The rehab for sacroiliac (SI) joint pain is relatively simple if we consider the three mechanisms of injury: 1. Physical trauma (e.g. motor vehicle accident) 2. Repetitive activities (e.g. lifting or running injury) 3. Spontaneous symptoms (unrelated to the inflammatory conditions that I previously mentioned) If you’re experiencing symptoms and impairments in function after a traumatic incident, like a motor vehicle accident or fall, the goal of rehab is to get you back to your prior level of function. If you’re struggling with a specific activity, like running or lifting, the goal of rehab is to improve your overall capacity and ability to better tolerate that activity. If you can’t recall a distinct mechanism of injury and you have no activity-related goals, the adaptations from regular exercise may still allow you to better tolerate the demands of your day-to-day life. Plus, the benefits of exercise in general are countless and should not be overlooked. Exercises do not need to focus on specific “stabilizing muscles.” Instead, choose exercises that train all of the muscles around the sacroiliac joints, low back, and hips. For example, shown are a few exercises that a runner who is pretty far along in the rehab process might incorporate. Had been in Belfast last week and Newcasle the week before so havent got posting much but still doing the workouts and beating my gym amxiety-2 gyms in 2 cities in 2 weeks and im getting more confident. Its already week 8 of Intent by @carolinegirvan and cant believe how quickly its flown-although my body is defo feeling it and reminding me that i have neglected my mobility stretching and phyiso-so some niggles that need work. Day 37 lower body went lighter today as my back was really sore first thing- (a few long car journeys lately not helping) but moving and stretching seemed to help. 2x12kgs for lunges which has been a long while 25kg for sumos and 50kg hip thrusts-just glad to manage this and my back felt ok. 20 weeks out ➡️ 9.5 weeks out Yesterday I had the audacity to think I wasn’t making any progress… then I looked at some photos from the beginning of prep and thought “is that even me?!”. Current typical day of eating for me gaining muscle 💪🏻😛 In this bulk I have been able to be a lot more flexible as I learned a lot about my body in my first bulk and how it responds. This is my overall target however some days will vary and having a high target means I hit a good surplus and protein intake over the course of a weeks average, without having to track absolutely everything! This allows me to be more flexible with food and listen to my body. So far it is working really well and I'm seeing growth 📈 calories and macros are so unique to you, this is what works for me at the moment but will probably change soon to match my goals ! If you want a FLAT ass that DOES NOT fill out your shorts, and flabby legs that look like melted ice cream, then DO THIS! People ask me all the time…Meg how do I make my ass smaller and flatter? And I always tell them: ❌Do more cardio & HIIT classes ❌Dont lift weights ❌Cut out all carbs ❌Do a juice cleanse ❌Buy some booty bands If I wanted a flat ass thats what I would do! Now… 🍑 If I wanted a FAT JUICY dumpy that turns heads and toned legs THIS is what I would do: ✅Train legs 2-3x a week ✅Train till failure ✅Lift HEAVY ✅Reduce cardio ✅Eat plenty of carbs to fuel my workouts and recovery ✅Follow a lifting program written by a professional ✅Pick simple exercises and stick to them Obviously by now you’ve picked up on my sarcasm (I would hope lol). But I see girls do this all the time… They want “toned” legs and bigger glutes so they start doing booty band exercises, cut out carbs and add in hours of cardio. None of those things got me the legs & ass I have today. And trust me when I say I was born with a booty flatter than your 12 year old brothers. Look at the people who ACTUALLY practice what they preach (a lot of insta girls post swipe workouts they don’t even do 🙃 or just buy a BBL) The girls with nice asses and legs? They’re lifting heavy & eating carbs. They train hard with proper form. They have a structured training program. Day 37, INTENT. Growth comes with HARD WORK, PATIENCE and CONSISTENCY 🔑 This journey has never been easy. There’s been many times where I’ve felt hopeless, demotivated and inconsistent. I began my journey around the end of 2018 and have since then been training 3-5 times a week. During the beginning of my journey, I was pretty inconsistent, would eat a load of junk as soon as I was back from the gym instead of fuelling my body with protein and the right foods. I never saw a difference in my body which was rather annoying as I wanted to see growth in the right places. However, over the last 3-4 years, I’ve managed to work on myself in the best way possible, prepping my meals, eating the right foods and making sure I’m getting in enough protein. Vulnerable post alert!🚨 I’m guilty deeply of having middle child syndrome. I feed into invisibility comfortably. Well, I used to anyway 😅
 Growing up in the midwest, I had little guidance on a healthy lifestyle. The amount of 🗑️ that was the normal honestly makes me angry. At my heaviest, I was around 50 lbs overweight, moving to a higher pant size each year. My mental health was poor-I had a lot of self hatred. I played sports, & it wasn’t enough to balance the constant junk food. I was stung by docs on factory farming cultivating the majority of what we have access to. & while I grew up on a farm & beef was raised by our family, everything else came from that cycle. I felt compelled to be at least a vegetarian, & was vegan for many years. I was working in the apparel industry, fueled visions of what a sample size model looked like. I was literally anti-muscle😝 I barely consumed protein. As I aged, I had the skinny fat look, & was determined to change. My first dive into strength training was a challenge from Lauren Simpson. I loved her physique & her approach to fitness was easy to digest. I knew the vegan lifestyle was the root cause of my body composition. With all of the confusion online about nutrition, I needed clarity. I became a nutrition nerd 🤓 & got a nutrition coach certification, which spiraled into Personal Training & Group Fitness Instruction certs. Protein first, then carbs & fats, were no longer something I feared. They simply became a data point. I used macro targets to fuel workouts, encourage muscle growth, & allow flexibility to have date night with my BF.🥂 With new confidence backed by science🧪, I found a love for strength training, hitting my protein target, & beating personal records each week. I built programming to lift & round my glutes 🍑white capping my shoulders💪🏼. An interesting part about my weight from the middle photo to the right photo is that I weighed less than I do now. Fitness is now my mental health outlet, especially at times when family, relationships, & work gets rocky. Comment below & let me know if you resonate with any part of my story.
