🟩 The latest episode of Untangling the Yarn - Stories from People Living with Dementia airs today on Bay FM from 10am during the Make a Change show. 🟩 From 10 am today we have a special episode of Untangling the Yarn featuring career journalist and long time Bay FM presenter Phil Hurst. Unlike most people featured in the series, Phil does not have dementia, but another severe memory loss condition that has left him with most of his long term memory intact but very little short term memory. 🟩 We’ll hear from Phil about his fascinating life, and also from his carer and co-host of Whirled Music, Ruthie. 🟩 Untangling the Yarn is a new documentary series highlighting the personal stories of people living with dementia, airing on Bay FM on Wednesday mornings from 10am as part of the “Make a Change” show. 🟩 One in 12 Australians over the age of 65 are living with some form of dementia. Our b&b didn't have a gym, but we hiked about 4 hours, so that was our cardio and endurance workout. Now we are in our last hotel and there are two floor mats and treadmills in this gym room. No weights. Had to do something bodyweight today with no equipment, and we had a tight window for a tour, so I put together this workout. AMRAP: as many rounds as possible I got through 4 complete rounds in 20 minutes, and was sweating and breathing heavy, so it was good! ... 🍺🍺 The 1 more mentality 🍺🍺 How many times have you given into the question, you having another? In this spell of good weather it will be easy to say yes. Be that to beer, ice cream or other sweet treats. There is nothing wrong with having another or the one more mentality. The problems comes with its general context. It’s always associated with 1 more drink, 1 more slice of pizza and all things that have a negative connotations or something that may take you further away from your goals. How many of you associate 1 more with a piece of vegetables, set at the gym or workout across the week? There is nothing wrong with thinking just 1 more, but you might just have to frame it right. You can have 1 more beer, you might just have to complete 1 more set of burpees, another workout as a trade off. Or accept that the journey will take longer than you hoped. 1 more beer won’t kill your progress, but the 1 more mentality might be harming your progress more than you realise. Don’t have an hour to dedicate to your workout? The good news is that most any activity is better than no activity, so by combining a few effective exercises you can do your workout any time, literally anywhere! I had only 20 mins to spare today so I took these 4 movements and ran through them as many times as possible in that timeframe💥 AMRAP 20 mins: 5 pull-ups 5 Deadlifts 5 Med Ball Slams 20 Mt. Climbers If you don’t have access to equipment, your workout could look something like this instead: 10 push-ups 20 Lunges 10 Jump Squats 20 Mt.
