I also checked out the 63 building specifically for the OTTERS (@erikamachamer !!!) and was blown away by the fabulosity of the Hyundai department store in Yeouido (their Eataly floor is amazing).This store, in and of itself, is worth a visit to Seoul for my retail peeps. Also had a delish dinner at Gjustina tonite. You have to place your order on a computer on the table which I’m not especially down with but the food is great and very reasonably priced. Also got my first hairdressing experience today. Service in Seoul is just next level as a rule. Mittlerweile bin ich seit zwei Wochen aus dem hohen Norden Skandinaviens oberhalb des Polarkreises zurück! Und die Tour ist geglückt! Es war einen Riesenerfahrung wie auch eine ebenso große Herausforderung! Wir erlebten den Zauber des Nordlichts, kämpften uns durch Schneestürme und im drohenden White-Out voran, liefen auf eisblau gefrorenen Flüssen und Seen in einer fantastisch weiten vielfach unberührten arktischen Landschaft. Wir begegneten Schneehühnern, Elchen und Rentieren. Es war sicher die herausforderndste der drei Wintertouren (Hardangervidda, Sarek Nationalpark und nun das Sulitjelma-Massiv mit dem Padjelanta Nationalpark) bislang und vermutlich auch die mit dem größten Expeditionsanteil/-charakter. Are you someone who worries about outcomes? Maybe you’re a perfectionist or an overachiever like me. I used to stress about outcomes and grades and being successful. Do you wanna know what I’ve learned? You can’t control everything, but you can control your effort. if you do your best in everything you do things have a way of working themselves out. That doesn’t mean that if things don’t go exactly according to plan that you did something wrong or that you aren’t good enough. It just means that you tried and it will be okay. When you have unexpected results even with the best of efforts, it’s just an opportunity to learn. Maybe next time you take a different approach with the same level of effort and you’ll yield a different result. Nobody is perfect nor do they have to be. Just show up every day with the best you have to give, and you will be amazed at where life leads. Larry Bird summed up this idea well when he said. “I’ve got a theory that if you give 100% all of the time, somehow things will work out in the end.” Drop 💯 if you are committed to your efforts and not just the results.
FINALLY. Our first game of Marvel: Crisis Protocol is in the books. We ran the introductory scenario (which put the characters in weird teams…. Captain America and Crossbones on the same side…? Red Skull and Spider-Man working together…? Hmmmm), and we went SLOWLY through each turn and each detailed sequence of play to try and learn it correctly. I think we got it right for the most part, and the rules are intuitive enough that we got into a groove after the first couple of rounds. As usual, Tracy kicked my ass, 16-9. I REALLY enjoyed this game. It was easy to feel like I was playing the part of each superhero and villain, because each character has their own unique abilities and strengths, and each power, attack and defense skill is carefully created to make the game come to life.
