In this household we’re a bit busy and the air fryer/toaster oven comes in clutch 100000% of the time, well the old one has been, ….we’ll say ….WELL USED, and it was time for her to go, she works just fine but ima bit OCD and she was past the point of getting clean… even tho she came in clutch DAILY, hell multiple times a day, as she was used daily for the past 5-6 yrs but they upgraded me and honestly it was the most perfect well thought out gift possible!! (She comes in beneficial to them as well but beneficial to them is beneficial to me!! Plus it’s mine, she’s new and clean and they know I’ll murder them if they even think of getting her dirty!!!!) I’d like to take this time to wish a happy Mother’s Day to all the moms raising their children single-handedly. It is a tough and often thankless job we are doing. But, it is the most important task you may ever do. The sacrifices you are making will not be forgotten: when your child asks you to buy them food out so you buy their food but not anything for yourself, when you don’t build or continue relationships because you don’t have the time with your commitment to your child, the trips your child had to miss because Dad wouldn’t sign for a passport nor an authorization to travel abroad, the trips you had to cancel because you couldn’t arrange childcare, the childcare you arranged fell through or the childcare was just too expensive, the conferences and networking events you had to miss because children just weren’t allowed, the jobs you had to decline because they were overseas and the passport issue again or the schedule wouldn’t have accommodated raising your child the best way you see fit, the many doctor’s visits, the hours spent making sure your child receives the best education possible and driving your child to and from activities, the sleepless nights you spent dealing with nightmares, watching over sick children, being thrown up on, cleaning up throw up, checking fevers and making sure fevers were kept under control all night long and everything you didn’t get yourself because you wanted to provide more for your child. There were people closest to me who said I shouldn't, but I did. And it was amazing! I just got back from a week in Costa Rica. First time traveling out of the US. First time traveling solo. First time leaving my kids alone to fend for themselves - don't worry, they're old enough. 2-22-21 Starting again. I've decided to change the script from starting over. We never really start over because we can never go back to the beginning. Every time you move forward, no matter how few steps you make, there's progress. It can't be erased. You've learned something, either what to do or what not to do. I've been absent in a lot of ways for months. So much has taken a toll on me that I had to just let go of the scraggly strings I was holding on to. It set me back. It affected my relationships, my livelihood, everything. But the way I was barely making it kept me beyond burnout. And then you know what happened? One day, I woke up and felt happy and energized. It was strange but familiar after being on the struggle bus of stress. Letting go and letting what is, accepting what is and ignoring judgement, made all the difference. So today, I'm starting again. I wore workout clothes instead of jammies to walk the dog for a start. Here's to the rest of the day. I wonder what else I will do on this new page of my life. This was one of my favorite places to be bit ill probably never go again. Every summer and almost every Christmas, we'd travel to Gardnerville, NV to my now ex mil's house. I have so many fond memories. No matter how they acted during and after the divorce, I choose to not allow anger, sadness, or resentment to tarnish the laughter, the joy, and the love I felt.
