I didn’t think I’d hit 250 or even 240 but it went down and I’m happy for that🙌🏾. 250 felt like I had 5-10lbs left in the tank which is good cause my goal was 264lbs for the comp. For me, this means that I track an Estimated 1 Rep Max, do heavy top sets, back downs, accessories, etc. I'm hoping that I can apply what I've learned in weight lifting to calisthenics and progress them exactly the same way. Today was a top set triple for pull-ups. I decided to do this as a chin-up since I feel stronger in a supinated position. This is similar to how I choose a low bar squat as my competition squat. I then did my back down sets pronated in order to address weaknesses in my back. 今日は朝イチで健診の後、出張でした。 バリウムとその後のお薬を飲んだ後の出張は結構大変😅 週末のトレ動画 久々にケーブルマシンで加重懸垂。仕込みは面倒ですが、一度つけた後は、ワンタッチで加重が変えられます☝️😄 先週の有酸素は3日でした。 4枚目は週末の一杯 今回はジンライム…毎回透明なので、ライム🍋‍🟩を入れてみました。 ここからは論文紹介。 今回は、トレーニングブランクなど身体を動かさない間の筋肉の減少と回復について[1]。 長文です。ご関心あれば。 筋肉の量は、筋肉の合成と分解のバランスで決まっていて、合成の速さが勝っていれば筋肉量は増え、分解が優勢の場合には減っていきます。何かの事情でトレーニングにブランクができたり、ケガなどで安静を余儀なくされると、筋肉は自ずと減少し、筋力もそれに応じて低下していきます。 筋肉の減少は意外に速く、例えば足を完全に固定した場合などは、2週間程度で筋肉量の低下が見て取れた事例があるとのこと。また、筋繊維のタイプによる違いがあり、持久系のタイプⅠよりもパワー系のタイプⅡの筋繊維のほうが減少しやすいそうです。これは経験やイメージにあってますね。 ブランクの後に筋肉・筋力を回復させるには、トレーニングはもちろん、栄養面も大切とされています。必須アミノ酸を多く含むたんぱく源、必要に応じてEAAやBCAAを活用する。 初めて知ったのは、青魚で有名なオメガ3脂肪酸ってトレーニングに大切なんですね。エネルギーを産生する細胞内のミトコンドリアの働きを活性化するそうです。 最後に、論文とは関係ない余談 ブランクの後のトレ再開には、筋肉が早く戻る「マッスルメモリー」がよく出てきますね。その効果の真偽はさておき、少なくとも、子供の頃に乗り方を覚えた自転車には時間が空いても乗れるのと同じように、身体は効果的な動き方を覚えていて、トレーニングをゼロから始めた頃よりも効率的に筋力が戻ってくる効果はあると思います(m.k.仮説😄)。 では、今週も頑張りましょう🤗 [1] Nunes EA, Stokes T, McKendry J, Currier BS, Phillips SM. Day 2 this week: Push press: 1 rep at 31x1, 2 reps regular tempo 1: 3 @ 175lbs 2: 3 @ 195lbs 3: 3 @ 210lbs (had to fight for that last one…) Then Weighted pull-ups superset with half kneeling DB press 4: 3 pull-ups @ 50lbs, 6 presses @ 50lbs 5: 3 pull-ups @ 60lbs, 6 presses @ 60lbs Conditioning was a real long burner….total work was 100 cals on the rower, 50 T2B, and 50 DB strict presses @ 45lbs😮‍💨☠️ All in all, a good session!!! Week 2 of 5x5 Strength Training 💪🏼 Increased to 80% of my 1RM this week for my main compound lifts. 🔥5x5 with 2 mins rest between sets Deadlift @ 60kg Backsquat @ 50kg Bench Press @ 32.5kg Weighted Pull ups @ 6kg Backsquats and Deadlifts felt harder at this weight, especially the squats since it's my weakest. Since Hyrox is mainly legs, I will need to focus on building more lower body strength and power. Next week's weight is going to be challenging. Weighted pull-ups. 50 lbs (23 kg). 3 sets of 8 reps. Making progress with my full stretch weighted pull-ups. Shoulders are feeling good and grip is holding up, so I was able to do all sets unbroken. It’s not the focus of the current block so slow and steady progress here.

Today’s workout included my new favorite rear delt exercise, rear delt rows with rings, and weighted pull-ups. And I am just beginning my weighted pull-up journey, so I am using a light load to make sure my technique remains rock solid. And for the post workout meal, jasmine rice, golden potatoes, alfalfa sprouts, mandarin orange and tofu. For this meal, I added olive oil and herbs and spices to the water I used to cook the rice, but forgot to add the apple cider vinegar. I sautéed the potatoes and tofu and mixed in the sprouts with the rice at the very end of its cooking process after all the water had been absorbed to lightly wilt them.
