Foundational Moves… What are”foundational exercises?” They’re exercises that everyone should be doing, they form the “foundation” for a strong, fit, healthy body?  In reality I don’t think “exercises” goes far enough. To lay a foundation, you need more than just gym exercises, no matter how optimal they are. “Foundational movements, activities, and positions” gets us closer to the truth. Just, what are the foundational movements, activities, and positions everyone should be doing? - Crawling - Sitting on the floor - Hanging - Resting squat  -Goblet Squat - Hip hinge (deadlift, kettlebell swings) - Lunging - Walking - Sprinting - Easy jogging (nasal breathing, heart rate under 180 minus age) - Physical play (volleyball, baseball, cycling) - Roughhousing (martial arts, contact sports, anything testing your strength/dexterity against another person) - Nature exposure (a foundational position of a human,being in nature) This may sound like a lot. That’s a long list, right? However, these movements, activities, and positions all naturally, intuitively, and spontaneously flow together—coexist. Do one and you find yourself doing five or more! Been 7 weeks since my last #physiqueupdate It’s easy to take progress photos when lean and feeling your best, it’s another story when you’re carrying more body fat and not in your best shape. At the end of the day, photos are important to look back on and compare, so take the photos! You’ll be happy you did! Shown is today and 3/30/24 (photo in comparison- date is wrong, should say 3/30/24🤦🏼‍♀️) SWIPE➡️for comparisons March: eating 1903 calories, training 5 days/week, cardio 15 min x3/week & 8k daily steps Today: eating 2356 calories, training 5 days/wk, cardio 17 min x2/week & 8k steps/day 453 calorie increase over the last 7 weeks. Weights been staying pretty good, minimal increase. Goal is to build conservatively to minimize fat gain.

Moving over to calisthenics doesn't mean I will allow myself to lose my leg muscles!! I like my big legs too much (I used to hate it when I was younger because my friends called me she-hulk 🥹🙈)!! I will forever be grateful for the amazing women I get the pleasure of Competing with and against. The military holds a variety of competitions which I have the privilege to compete in along side brilliant women. I’m amazed at every competition how strong these individuals are. It has been a minute and a half and It feels good to be in a place where I can share a bit more again on the feed!

Approx a year ago, I completed my first bikini bodybuilding competition which was an incredible experience and even better journey. Placing first and Overall for the division was the cherry on top of an enthralling phase in life. I shared that after the comp I had to go into a recovery phase - this entailed doing deload training, prioritising my health by emphasising recovery and really homing into my mental health. It was a f*cked up period to say the least haha, Thank you for being with me through that in my stories!! I needed to rebalance my hormones (this is something to be conscious of especially for women during competition where menstruation can be affected, hunger + fullness cues warped and psychology affected with these disruptions) and keep the machine 🦾🦾going. The value that training has in my life did not change as a result of the experience I had last year, neither has my appreciation for the weird sport that is bodybuilding 😄 - post recovery, we upped the volume and I’ve had my game face on for a number of months now and will continue to do so until the next comp where I intend to come back better than I was. 🧘‍♀️✨ So this is your reminder; plan your journey, but be conscious of your sphere of control. 8/30 total body construction! As much as I miss working out with people I’m enjoying this solo time. I still get in no fooling around. Probably talk to myself a little bit. But I’m on a mission for a new result. I’m very focused. Im always ready for a new result. I’m grateful for my silent trainer as im calling him. I even got his meal plan. Week 2 completed✨ I had 3 social events last week which caused me to gain 0.5kg which I’m very happy with as there was lots of cake/cheescake (see second picture - obviously biscoff made by yours truly), party food and some drinks involved. Currently 74.5kg and glad I was able to manage the socials🙏🏼 Keeping calories and carbs high again due to the socials last weekend (one more this weekend for a wedding I am going to). I want to see how well my body can react to these calories and carbs for as long as possible.
