But its important to remember that even when those dark days and nights seem like you are at your lowest, and things can’t get any worse and you feel helpless and hopeless of a better tomorrow, that things do change. It’s easy to lose perspective when things go bad for us in life. It’s easy to fall into a routine and from nowhere realise were years older and haven’t dont half the things we promised ourselves we would do. It usually sadly takes a moment of ill health, struggle or grief to really put things into perspective and its there we often “live for the moment” for a short period of time. Finally, the day we have all been waiting for, I hit legs! A few months ago I started experiencing some pretty severe back pain which I later found out was related to a genetic deformity in my L1 vertabrae. During that time I decided to hold off on any strenuous lifting due to being in the middle of my track season and that taking priority. Surprisingly, I didn't lose too much progress and hopefully I will grow to at least like leg day. Chest day is still the best. Solomon Pardue at Houndslake Country Club. Background: Been wanting to get a portrait that would convey the long hard hours Solomon puts into the game as well as the emotional roller coaster that can ensue when you are fighting so hard to get better. There was match in particular that really captured it all when Solomon was playing in the Mike Carlisle tournament during the winter. It was rainy, muddy and bone chilling cold and after nine grueling holes Solomon was over 50. I asked him if he wanted to quit and he said no and said that he was going to reset. The next nine holes, he shot a 40 despite the puddles, relentless rain and slop. Not a great score , but showed a lot of grit. Bittersweet ending to the day.
