A study conducted by researchers at North Carolina State University has delved deep into the harmful effects of 'yo-yo dieting', also known as weight cycling. The study, which involved in-depth interviews with 36 adults who experienced weight cycling, reveals a troubling pattern of social pressure, shame and disordered behaviours. Participants, comprising 13 men and 23 women, shared their experiences of entering the yo-yo dieting cycle, driven by societal stigma and unrealistic comparisons with celebrities or peers. Shockingly, none of them initiated dieting for health reasons, but rather succumbed to external pressures. Despite initial success with various weight-loss strategies, including restrictive diets and extreme exercise, participants inevitably regained the weight, triggering feelings of shame and exacerbating internalised stigma. This vicious cycle led to increasingly extreme behaviours, such as binge eating, calorie counting and overexercising, in a desperate attempt to shed pounds rapidly. The study's findings underscore the urgent need to shift away from the damaging culture of quick-fix diets and unrealistic beauty standards. Instead, holistic wellbeing and self-acceptance should be the goal. As we navigate our journey towards health, let's remember that sustainable habits and self-compassion are key. Let's break free from the yo-yo dieting trap and embrace a lifestyle that nourishes both body and mind.🌱🙏💆 Reference: Lynsey Romo, Sydney Earl, Katelin A. Mueller, Mary Obiol. A lot of religious people will say that gluttony is a deadly sin and those who are gluttonous will go to hell, but what about the opposite? What about those who are dieting and putting themselves into an eating disorder? God gave you a wise body, but you're choosing to listen to society's messaging instead of your internal wisdom. That's not honoring your body and you thinking you're better than overweight people because you are thin puts you into another deadly sin, which is arrogance/pride. The solution: kindness, empathy, compassion the way God intended. Simple. Pride, ego, and arrogance will never get you anywhere. This is why the world is the way that it is. Everyone thinks that they're better than everyone and trying to outdo each other. Spread kindness, love, compassion, and acceptance. You never know who needs it. We are all equal. Dieting is not the same as eating healthy and living a healthy lifestyle, but just remember health is a lot more than what you eat, how much you exercise, and how small you are. #dietsuck #dietmemes #dietcultureistoxic #dietculturedropout #dietisbad #internalwisdom #socialvalidation #overweightwomen #overweightmoms #religionsoftheworld #religiousmatters #empathyforlife #eastingdisorderssuck #eatingdisorderrecoverycoach #eatingdisorderecovery #eatingdisordermonth #eatinghealthyfood #dietupdate #yoyodiet #yoyodieter #yoyodietbreakup

Have you ever felt trapped in a never-ending cycle of dieting? You're not alone. A recent study looked at why people get caught in the cycle. Here is what researchers found ⬇️ Yo-yo dieting is an unhealthy cycle of losing and gaining weight over and over again. It’s really common for Americans who tend to quickly follow quick-fix diets that ultimately don’t deliver in the long run. The problem is that people often start these diets in order to please other people rather than for their own health. These quick-fix diets are usually only a short-term fix, and when the weight gain returns, it comes with shame and negative self-talk, often leading to even more extreme diet methods like binge eating or excessive exercise. Researchers found that people are more likely to break the diet cycle by changing their eating habits for health like: 🍏 Eating a wide variety of healthy foods 🛑 Listening to their body’s hunger cues by eating only when hungry and stopping when full 🍽️ Letting go of strictly monitoring or controlling eating How great would it be if you never had to diet again? 🤩 The Ultimate Nutrition Bible offers tailored guidance to help you create a nutrition plan aligned with your body's needs, goals, and genetic makeup. Carnivore 🥩vs Yo-yo dieter Yo-yo dieter all year around, always looking for a new diet that works, restriction during day then binge at night, long distance runner, I was training for half marathon, strong sugar craving. Seriously bad sugar craving. I cried many time on my run why I can’t stop binging😢I owned tons of diet books. I stay up late so I can eat snacks without no one looking at me. Always calorie checked. If I eat bad I go run kind of mindset. Carnivore: Eat meat drink water. No more sugar craving. No more binge eating. Workout less than 30 minutes a day, 5 x a week. Weight management is effortless. Inflammation face is gone. More muscle. No more staying up late sometimes I go sleep earlier than kids🤣No more diet books. No more searching for a new diet. No more crying because I can’t stop eating. Positive mindset. People asks me why I have so much energy. I don’t rely on caffeine or sugar anymore. List goes on……

Escape the viscious cycle of yo-yo dieting and discover the path to lasting results. Yo-yo dieting can be detrimental to your body for several reasons **Metabolic Impacts:** Rapid weight loss followed by regain can lead to a slower metabolism, making it more challenging to maintain a healthy weight over time. **Muscle Loss:** Yo-yo dieting often involves losing not only fat but also muscle mass. Losing and gaining weight repeatedly can contribute to a higher percentage of body fat with each cycle, as muscle tissue is lost and replaced with fat. **Nutrient Deficiency:** Extreme diets may restrict certain food groups, leading to nutritional deficiencies. **Psychological Impact:** The cycle of dieting, weight loss, and regain can take a toll on mental health. It may lead to feelings of frustration, guilt, and a negative relationship with food, potentially contributing to emotional eating. So what can you do??? Limit caloric deficits to 8-12 weeks. Prolonged periods of extreme caloric deficit can negatively impact metabolism and lead to nutrient deficiencies. You should be living in maintenance for periods of time between defecits. Include all food groups. No diet should exclude foods. If you want to lose or sustain fat loss, all foods should be eaten. Prohibiting carbs, sugar, desserts, etc leads to wanting that food more or not knowing how to handle that food if it's in front of you. Cutting out certain foods will inevitably lead to binge eating. Do not have strict time limits. Weight loss is a gradual process, and setting unrealistic time frames can result in unhealthy practices. Allowing for a more flexible timeline encourages sustainable habits, making it more likely to maintain a healthy weight in the long run. Have resilience after a bad meal. One setback doesn't define your journey. Instead of abandoning your efforts after a single indulgence, focus on consistency and just pick up from where you left off. Remember, this is for life. How do you want to live your life? Constantly trying any new diet to lose weight and gain it back plus more or take the slower path and keep that weight off for good?? Thoughts??🩷

Tell me if this is you⤵️ I absolutely LOVE supporting women who have done the diets and exercise plans, but aren’t getting where they really want to be. I’ll admit that sometimes it’s not super clear who I help and what I help them with. So here’s EXACTLY the person that I’m wanting to help this year. ✅ Women who have a lot of dieting rules & are tired of ‘starting over.’ ✅Women who want to be normal around food. ✅Women who are tired of the yo-yo dieting and thinking about food all the time. I help them by: ✅Finding the root of why you are stuck in the yo-yo cycle. ✅Navigating the middle between feeling of deprivation and overindulgence. ✅Discover their own tools that align with who they are. Putting this out there into the universe and if you answered “YES” or “THIS IS SO ME” to any of this? Let’s talk! DM me or comment “freedom” for all the info!

The yo-yo dieting cycle used to dominate my life. Starting a diet, doing “good”, losing some weight, encountering a slip up, falling off, then feeling like a failure, on repeat. Gaining and losing the same 5-15lbs over and over again. I found myself trapped in a never ending cycle that lead nowhere, constantly questioning myself: “What’s wrong with me?” “Why can’t I justhave more discipline?” “Will I ever keep the weight off?” If this resonates with you, I want to share what changed my life. 𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖. 𝑰𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒕. I could shout that from the rooftops. YOU 👏 ARE👏 NOT 👏THE 👏PROBLEM👏 It’s your approach. If your diet consists of a list of “good” and “bad” foods, strict rules, severe caloric restriction, and feels like something you can’t keep up… I hate to break it to you… but you’ll never be successful. You'll continue to go through the yo-yo cycle, only when you're "100% on track" only to regain the weight (and then some) when you inevitably "fall off." The fall off happens because your strict diet isn’t flexible, it doesn’t allow for meals out or vacation, it’s not focused on sustainable behaviors, it’s not looking big picture, it doesn’t take into account how to balance work, a social life, having kids, events… etc. The key to a lasting results is ultimately finding a healthy lifestyle that doesn’t feel like dieitng. It’s something that you can stick to day in, and day out. One that doesn't make you feel the need to start over again on Monday. This is the moment when lasting change happens. Embrace a diet that becomes an integral part of your lifestyle, and watch as the cycle of frustration and disappointment transforms into a journey of enduring success. The time has come to break free from this cycle. 📲 DM me “BREAK FREE” if you’d like more info about what we do at @clfitcoaching and how we can help you reach your goals for good. No more yo-yo dieting.

Ben’s journey over the past 12 weeks has been nothing short of spectacular. 19kg down ⚖️ 11cm off his waist 📉 Energy levels up ⚡️ Confidence is at an all time high 🚀 He’s now lighter than he has been since he was a teenager, whilst being the strongest he’s ever been… Not only has Ben had an amazing physical transformation, but his mindset has completely shifted. He always struggled to control his calories and stick to a diet for longer than a few weeks at a time. So we decided to design a flexible approach to dieting that allowed him to enjoy some “junk” foods on the weekends whilst still achieving fat loss on a weekly basis. Now, he’s kept on pushing through and reached goals he never thought possible. And he’s only just gotten started! 🤯 I cannot express how proud I am of Ben and what he’s achieved and I can’t wait to see what he’s capable of over the next 12 weeks! 🙌 #fatlosstransformation #12weekchallange #neatup #flexibledietingforthewin #leanerandstronger #yoyodietbreakup #healthyhabitsforlife

So, its true that you don't need shakeology, energize or any other bodi product in order to lose weight! But they sure do help!! I can't tell you how many yoyo diets I've tried and I noticed they all have one thing in common, as soon as you stop, the weight comes back.. 🙄 How many can relate? That's why I LOVE bodi so much, this is the best results I've ever had in the shortest amount of time. And I am NOT starving!!!! I wouldn't do or support anything that I am not passionate about. And I can honestly say that Bodi has changed my life both mentally and physically. I believe it would be a shame not to share that with others looking for change ❤ Bodi teaches you how to live a healthier lifestyle. How to still have good meals, but the right portions. I didn't have to give up my treats or my favorite dinner meals. And I'm still seeing results! #getresultsfast #bepassionate #shareyourstory #yourstorymatters #yoyodietbreakup #healthyishappy #changeisgood #healthylifestyle

This picture came up on my FB memories today. I'd just lost over six stone with Slimming World. It took me six months. I was elated. I remember looking at this picture and not being able to believe how thin I looked after being over twenty stone just six months before. I decided to have a break from Slimming World as I didn't want to be on a diet forever. Six months later I was twenty stone again. This was twelve years ago today. All I've done is go up and down the scales for over twelve years. I'm at a point now where I'm not arsed if it takes me six years to lose six stone. Because I want to do it right, I want to respect myself and all the shit I went through and that's why I've chosen to work with @lucy_liftyourlife. Slimming World is the root of so many of my issues with food. I would go as far as saying Slimming World ruined my twenties. Constantly counting syns. Constantly losing and gaining significant amounts of weight. The fat distribution on my body is WILD because I did no exercise. I'm a size 18 and can't fit my arms in most shirts or dresses in my size because they just never changed. I used to pump myself full of artificial sweetener and Muller Lights. I felt SHIT all the time. I just wanted to look good and be thin and be the best person in my Slimming World group. I was constantly praised and held up as a model of success for losing weight constantly every week. As soon as I started gaining again I couldn't go back as I'd failed. I went to about five different groups in various places where I'd lose a few stone, put it back on, then have to go find another group. Yet my first few months with Lucy I actually gained weight as I got a handle on my binge eating. She didn't even mention it. She doesn't even really talk about my weight in check-ins unless I mention it or I've worked particularly hard to lose that week. I feel like a whole human being again instead of a number on a scale. This is how it should be. Swipe to see #2 before my massive weight loss about a month before I started Slimming World and #3 a year after I left Slimming World the first time.

“What the mind dwells upon, the body acts upon.” ~Denis Waitley Your diets have failed you in the past because they focus on one thing - dieting. 😉 When you’re trying to lose weight and get healthier, if your diet is centered around drastically cutting your calories, that is what your mind is going to dwell upon. When your mind dwells upon undereating, your body is going to pay a price. Unfortunately, dwelling upon “dieting” has caused far too many people to yo-yo their entire lives. It’s caused eating disorders and body dysmorphia. Even worse, it has caused our society to view food as the enemy…😓 Friend, it’s time to change the narrative! It’s time to dwell upon your journey through different lenses so your body can healthily achieve and sustain your goals! Instead of dwelling on dieting, try focusing on the following: ✨ View your body as your only earthy vessel to live in. It’s time to start treating it that way! ✨ View food as energy and nourishment as opposed to the enemy. Whole food is the best medicine available. ✨ Proper nutrition and exercise are giving you LIFE. Instead of viewing the journey as a joy-zapper, view it as a blessing. ✨ Instead of focusing on losing weight quickly, focus on getting HEALTHY! The diet industry has failed us, friend, and I’m here to teach you the right way! I’m here to teach you how to change your perspective around your journey. What the mind dwells upon, the body acts upon… If you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired (both mentally and physically), drop a ✨ below to let me know you’re ready to dwell on the positive and change your life once and for all! #yoyodietbreakup #nutritioncoach #eattolive #stopcaloriecounting #fwtfl #fwtflcoach

Life will throw you curve balls. How will you deal with your health and fitness goals when this happens? Throw it all out the window? The best thing you can do is anything that keeps your momentum and you feeling good. Remember this is lifelong not just for x amount of months. I am in a busy season of work. I didn’t get my lift in yesterday like I hoped but I did move my body and focused on my nutrition and ate Whole Foods that kept my energy up and me feeling my best. When I stopped working at 830 pm I got on my elliptical to move more and destress. Wasn’t feeling it because I was mentally exhausted and burnt out. I wasn’t physically exhausted because I sat more than usual. This is what helped me get on the elliptical telling myself I wasn’t physically busy but mentally busy working. Learn to be flexible with your health and fitness this has taken me lots of years to learn and practice because I use to be inflexible which just kept me spinning my wheels and being the yo-yo dieter. #yoyodieting #yoyodietbreakup #beflexible #busyseason #lifeisunpredictable #allornothing #habitsofhealth #fatlosstips #weightlosstips #lifelong

The body recognizes a calorie deficit as something that is compromising its survival. This sets off a cascade of complicated metabolic, neurological and hormonal responses to restore the original body fat state, resulting in weight gain. For example, the hormone that makes us feel hungry (grehlin) is higher after weight loss, even if the body regains weight to its original state. If you’ve ever seen weight regain after a diet or calorie restriction this could be playing a major role. Diet culture makes us believe that the reason we see weight gain after dieting is because we failed the diet. In reality, the body is working against a very complicated metabolic, neurological, and hormonal system that is defending weight loss. #hungerandfullness #registereddietitian #dietitian #foodfreedom #mindfuleating #dietculture #yoyodiet #yoyodietbreakup #metabolicadaptation #setpointtheory #weightsetpoint #setpointweight

1) I wasted years on banded punches and other such tosh aimed at sports specificity. I now realise I had little strength and was running myself into the ground (literally, I ran a lot) for no good reason. we could all do with being a little more athletic, that's what I aim for now 2) I was too focused on the little things. never missed my supplement stack, nailed my morning routine, but was regularly sleeping 5 hours. something something big rocks etc etc 3) I did a lot of things cos I thought I had to. ran twice a day because that's what fighters do. did endless long conditioning workouts for much the same reason. nevermind that it actually never achieved what I was after 4) admitting that I don't especially have a stance on crossfit or sumo vs conventional or yoga really changed my life. everything has pros and cons, so if you like it then crack on mate. if you're oersoy doing it, it's helpful to ask yourself if it's helping you to achieve what you want to but other than that mind ya business

Many of you know I’ve been on a health journey for almost 6 years now and you also know I’ve been sustaining my results for a good chunk of that time! So what have I learned??? This journey, like anything else that matters to you, never ends! if you want to sustain your health you must cultivate a mindset of being intentional daily FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!! Tough news, in the beginning it’s hard! Many times it sucks! You will trip, fall, get frustrated and even try and quit! Good news!!! Like ANYTHING in life if you break it down to learning small habits daily with consistency, ONE DAY you’ll just be doin the things you need to do, and gettin the results you wanna get!! Realizing there IS a problem is step #1 to start on your healing journey. I’ll be happy when I’m a size _ or when my scale says _ . If I could just lose these __pounds, my life would be so much better. Sound familiar? Did you join that weight loss membership? Did you buy that workout program? Did you join a gym and vow to go everyday? Did you join that challenge and compete to be @biggestloser ? I’ve done it all. I’ve eaten the space food, I’ve restricted foods and counted points, I’ve made the trackers and tried the rewards. I’ve done all of the things. And I’m not saying they don’t work or that you shouldn’t do any. If you are externally motivated, you should join the competition or the group thing (@gretchenrubin has a test btw that will let you know what you are ;) I will tell you that I felt better. Physically. When I was a lower number and a smaller size. I slept better, my body didn’t hurt as much, my stomach didn’t hurt as often, and my energy levels were way higher. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t depressed or anxious. It didn’t mean I wasn’t struggling in my relationships. It didn’t mean my life was easier or that I was more successful. Today, at a much higher weight, I’m very happy in my relationships and my life goals. I’ve gotten off 6 of my 7 medications (mainly through a series of successful surgeries). But I am tired most of the time, I don’t sleep well, and my stomach hurts too often. So I’m taking the time to document my journey. Not back to that number or that size. But back to that physically healthy feeling. I’m reminding myself that working out is a privilege; one that I wasn’t able to do sometimes. Eating less processed foods and drinking less alcohol and moving more is treating myself better because I will feel better after doing that. I don’t feel better after eating crap. I don’t feel better after sitting for hours and doom scrolling. Have you yo-yod? How did you feel in your highs and lows? Have you found that sweet spot yet? #loveyourself #healthjourney #reversebeforeandafter #endowarrior #yoyodietbreakup #cpapmachinessuck #iamdoingthisforme

Are you tempted to try a high protein, low carb diet to lose weight? You may want to think again about what that type of diet is going to do to your health in the long run. Our bodies get their energy from carbs and will burn glucose first. Our bodies are NOT efficient fat burners. Eating more fat means that you are now forcing your body to do something that it does not do naturally, in other words, to burn fat instead of the glucose that it was designed to burn. Does that really sound like a good idea for long term health? Switching your body from being a sugar burner to a fat burner is harmful. These diets, like keto, are dangerous and are damaging to the heart because of the excess fat circulating in the bloodstream. This way of eating is putting extra strain on the kidneys and the liver. Your body is stressed on these types of fad diets. It’s not worth it. You can shed pounds and keep it off FOR GOOD by keeping your daily fat intake to 10% and eating a high raw, plant based diet. No counting calories, no more yo-yo dieting. I lost 40 pounds and have kept it off by following these two simple rules. I also cleaned up my overburdened liver and balanced my hormones by eating this way. If you need support and guidance on how to implement this in your life so that you can keep the weight off for good, get rid of bad habits forever and feel great all the time, you can book a free consultation to discuss your specific health goals. Figuring out your nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated... Nutrition is always the hardest to get on track when reaching a fat loss goal mainly because most people tend to overcomplicate it. But, if you really want to take your health & fitness to that next level, nutrition is definitely the biggest factor keeping you where you’re at compared to where you want to be. Let’s break down how you can reach your next fat-loss goal: 1️⃣ Figure out how many calories you typically burn in a day between daily living (ie heart beating, blood flowing, breathing etc) + activity 2️⃣ (MOST IMPORTANT) Determine your calorie deficit. Remember there are 3500 kcals in 1lb of fat and safe fat loss is typically between .5lbs-2lbs per week or .5% 3️⃣ How many calories can you take in while still being in a calorie deficit? Once you figure that out, break those remaining calories down into macros. IE 35% Carbs , 35% Protein & 30% Fat for example. 4️⃣ Find foods you enjoy in each macro group. 5️⃣ Take those foods you enjoy and create a meal plan that’s within your allotted macros & calories. 6️⃣ Grocery shop & meal prep 7️⃣ Follow your plan, stay consistent and crush your goals! It’s that simple! Once you figure it out once, you’ll be able to figure it out for life. If you need help figuring out where your calories or macros should be to reach your next fat loss goal and you’d like me to create a personalized meal plan for you send me a DM or click the link in my bio. Elise 💕 #nutritiontips  #nutritionmatters  #nutritioncoaching  #nutritionfacts  #nutritioniskey  #womensnutritionist  #womensnutritioncoach  #healthynutrition  #balancedlife  #balancedlifestyle  #balanceddieting  #ditchdietculture  #ditchdiets  #yoyodieting  #yoyodietbreakup  #fatlosdiet  #fatlossformen  #fatlosshelp  #fatlosscoach  #fatlosstips  #sandiegofitness  #sandiegofit  #weightlossjourney  #weightlosstipsandtricks  #weightlossforbeginners  #weightlossforwomen  #iifymwomen  #iifymweightloss  #iifymlifestyle  #bfit

Are you tired of starting another promising diet, hoping that this time you will be successful in losing the weight and even more importantly, keeping it off? Here is what a typical yo-yo dieting cycle looks like: You start a new diet ⏬ You drastically restrict calories or cut out whole food groups ⏬ You start feeling emotionally and physically deprived ⏬ Your cravings get stronger, your willpower starts fading ⏬ You eventually give in and overeat on every single food you get your hands on ⏬ You gain all weight back and even add some extra lbs ⏬ You feel guilt and shame for breaking your diet again ⏬ You start yet another new diet Sounds familiar? Don’t panic, I got you! Here’s how to break the yoyo-cycle: The key is to build your transformation plan AROUND YOUR LIFESTYLE instead of the other way around. Implement a plan that you actually have unwavering confidence in and that allows you to ENJOY the process. Learn how to moderate your nutrition and exercise so NOTHING is off limits. Eat, drink, and train how you want 24 / 7 / 365, with your goals in mind. It all comes back to sustainability. You don’t need a new diet - you need a new lifestyle! When did advocating for honoring your body with healthy food and limiting choices that are less healthful become “diet culture”? 🤷‍♀️ It’s true that many women find themselves on a lifetime cycle of dieting, of losing and regaining the same lbs. and often gaining back more than before. This is especially common when calories are extremely restricted during the “diet” and then old habits resumed when the “diet” is over. Enter the yo-yo 🪀 cycle…. It doesn’t have to be this way! And you certainly don’t have to cut any one food or food group out forever (unless you have a medical need to do so). I’m honestly curious… What does diet culture mean to you? Or, alternately, what does a sustainable way of managing your nutrition FOR LIFE look like for you?

🆘 RELATIONSHIP TO SELF It’s one thing to be in a toxic relationship with someone else - you can leave, even if it’s hard. When we are in a toxic relationship with ourselves it’s a whole new ball game. You can’t escape you ever. You need to learn to live in peace with YOU. If the idea of working on a healthy relationship with self is cringeworthy to you then that’s your first sign you could seriously benefit from that work 🤍 Karissa x #selflove #selfrespect #toxicrelationship #yoyodietbreakup

****The Maintenance Goal ... One of my favourite accounts to follow is @wondwellness who frequently posts about the importance of learning to eat at maintenance. She says “One of the best things you can do at maintenance is to stop thinking it’s boring and you’re not making progress. Maintenance is a badass progress flex. How about showing it the respect it deserves”. Obviously, this relates strongly to those who are into bodybuilding and physique competitions who will also spend time eating in a surplus to build muscle and then dieting to lose surplus fat ahead of competition. However, for us lesser mortals who would like to lose weight, learning to permanently keep it off is also a “badass progress flex”! While we may be able to follow a diet plan and lose the desired weight, very often we gain back the weight we lost because we do not know how to maintain. There goes the merry go around of yo yo dieting. How would it feel not to feel the need to lose weight ahead of every holiday, a special event, a wedding ever again because you didn't need or want to? Today’s #kindmotivation is to work out the calories you would need to maintain your goal weight and see if you can stick to it happily for at least a month (there are many online calculators to help you find that number). If you feel its untenable, think about a compromise; what could you do to comfortably maintain a slightly higher goal weight? In the end, you may even decide to stick where you are and find peace and contentment with that. #maintenancecaloriesislife #healthyweight #happyweight #healthybody #bikinibody #summerbodygoals #weddingdietstartstomorrow #yoyodietbreakup #healthylifestyletips

I teach my clients how to get out of the diet mentality rut by nourishing their body with healing foods. That diet mentality drags you down and you end up in a vicious cycle of guilt, overeating and crash diets. On the road to recovery you become strong and confident. Because it takes inner strength to change and that’s powerful. Imagine waking up and you’re not on a diet. I know many of you can relate. Imagine waking up and eating to thrive and reduce the risk of health issues. No more eating to just lose weight and gain it back after you’re bored with your restrictive eating. My hair, my skin, my mind and my attitude have changed and it begin with a decision to stop dieting. It began with investing in myself. #womenempowerment #babysteps #selfcare #dietsdontwork #weightlossnaturally #healthandwellness #accountabilitycoach #takecontrolofyourhealth #strongnotskinny #healthylifestyle #healthyhair #strongbones #yoyodietbreakup #exercise #hiking #outdoorexercise #womenwhohikesd #socalhikingsisters #badasshikingwomen #girlsdoloveoutdoors #fitness #choosemountains #hikerbabes #legday

10 years ago my client wrote this. ⁣ ⁣ Stuck in a familiar pattern of overeating, then self-shaming, then over-restricting, then overeating all over again. On it went. ⁣ ⁣ An endless miserable cycle. ⁣ ⁣ Until, she reached out to me...⁣ ⁣ And together, we BROKE that damn cycle. ⁣ ⁣ Now, she not only eats healthier foods and trains with a consistency even I'd be proud of, but more importantly, she speaks well to herself. ⁣ ⁣ Side effects of doing that include - ⁣ ⁣ - Living with a strong, fit, healthy body⁣ - Completing COUNTLESS fitness challenges⁣ - Discovering pride in what her body CAN do⁣ - Unleashing her authentic, wonderful self and quitting the habit of hiding away, staying small ⁣ ⁣ And in her own words, ⁣ ⁣ "Not giving a flying fig what the scales say". ⁣ ⁣ If you've overeaten this #plattyjoobs weekend, and you're consumed with food guilt and shame, and you're committed to restricting again tomorrow?⁣ ⁣ Please. ⁣ Don't. ⁣ ⁣ Try instead, ⁣ ⁣ - Giving yourself a break and some compassion⁣ - Planning in some healthy foods for tomorrow⁣ - Scheduling in a time to move your body ⁣ - Focus on progress, not perfectection ⁣ ⁣ And remember, your life's purpose is NOT to perpetually diet and shrink your body. Hell'a grateful for this client discovering that with me. 😊💫💪🔥⁣ ⁣ #overeating #bingeeating #emotionaleating #emotionalhealth #foodperfection #selfshaming #yoyodietbreakup #stopyoyodieting #yoyodiet #progressnotperfection #morethananumber #darlingtonbusiness #darlobiz #proud

🎧This week on the podcast! Cassie shares why an “all or nothing” dieting causes women to struggle and that compassion for ourselves is the answer! She has definitely turned her pain and life experiences toward helping others and has created a program to support her community! In my conversation with Cassie, we explore the following ✅ Food is not the problem (and neither are you ) ✅ It’s time to start listening to your body. It will provide you the clues so you can make choices that support you instead of numbing out and restricting your foods! ✅ How to learn to have courage and trust surrounding food. ✅ How to “debrief” after a situation where we have lost control or sense of “will power”. ✅ What you can do instead of stress eating and how to calm your cravings! ✅ How to jump off the dopamine wagon with certain foods! I hope you can take some time this week to listen! 🔗Link to the show is in my bio! Put a ❤️ in the comments below if you are ready to start listening to your body!

If dieting was going to help with disordered eating habits, it would have worked by now What I see in clients who are going through menopause is a fear that working on themselves outside of fat loss is some kind of defeat As if letting off of those decades of chasing fat loss means they’re about to lose the game When in fact finally feeling able to eat a meal with their family free from guilt is the most freeing thing Choosing food that fills them up, makes them feel energised & going out for dinner with their partner is what truly brings them joy Once you can eat & feel neutral towards food You’re less likely to feel restricted Less likely to binge Better able to handle the emotional ups & downs that changes in hormones bring Less likely to use food to bring comfort More likely to achieve any fat loss goals you still have But the reason you haven’t got there yet? Is because you’re still desperately trying to diet Ready to do things differently? How can you make peace with food and learn how to eat intuitively?⁣ ⁣ One of the main themes I work on with my clients is emotions.⁣ ⁣ 99.9% of the time there are emotions attached to their body goals, which govern how they approach eating.⁣ ⁣ In my practice, I have found that there is always a way someone wants to feel, and that is why they go after specific physique goals. ⁣ ⁣ Now I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but often times the awareness around if this is a healthy intention or not is lacking.⁣ ⁣ Often times people want to feel confident, happy, beautiful, and so on, and feel the only way to do this is to change their body, therefore how they eat.⁣ ⁣ This is where I come in.⁣ ⁣ I guide my clients to see other ways to shift their perception of how they can achieve the emotions they want to feel, and that it doesn’t have to revolve around changing how they eat or how they look.⁣ ⁣ Once they realize this, the amount of freedom they feel is visible 🪞 ⁣ ⁣ Not only do they stop attaching emotions to food, but they open up space for other things in their life when they stop doing so.⁣ ⁣ That is true food freedom.⁣ ⁣ If you’re ready to stop attaching food to your emotions, use the link in my bio to schedule a free breakthrough call 📞

There is no adornment more beautiful than joy! I feel most beautiful when I am in deep joy. And my beautiful neice is such a joy filled beauty too! Her sweet and cheerful spirit fill my heart in a way I can't put words to. Health, beauty, self esteem, and happiness are found beyond skin deep. Being at peace with myself ,inside and out, has allowed me to enjoy and love my family, myself, and my life with my whole heart! This peace makes health come naturally. If health, beauty, self esteem and happiness are your desires seek true joy! Those other desires will be the inevitible and effortless outcome. 1 Peter 3:3-4"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."

I am so glad I took this before photo. Sometimes it's hard to feel like progress is happening when you know how many steps backwards you've taken. 3 years ago I was binge eating and at 5'2 weighed 170lbs. I went through a loooot of different diets and my weight went up and down over and over. Now I am 145lbs and have stayed close to that for the last year. What changed? I decided NO MATTER WHAT I'm not giving up. Even if one thing doesn't work. Not giving up. Now matter how long it takes. Not giving up. Now food is no longer my life, entertainment, or comfort. #foodfreedom #weightlosstransformation #beforeandafter #bingeeating #yoyodietbreakup #mindsetovermotivation
