😡 Anger An angry (and stubborn) child. Maybe anxious. Parenting a stubborn child is not an easy task for example, fussy eaters, completing the assigned homework, wardrobe battles, bedtime struggles and difficulty socializing. Children experience anger when they feel frustrated (impatient), misunderstood, or when their needs and desires are not met. Anger can manifest as tantrums, outbursts, or defiance. Also, children may feel jealous of siblings, peers, or attention given to others, especially when they perceive a loss of attention or resources.  Some parents may find it challenging to tolerate their child's anger, sadness, or frustration, while others may struggle with their child's anxiety, fear, or disappointment. Distress/ Anxiety: Children may experience feelings of worry, nervousness, or apprehension, especially in situations that are perceived as threatening or overwhelming, such as starting school or meeting new people. Sadness: Children may feel sadness in response to disappointments, losses, or changes in their environment, such as moving to a new home or experiencing a separation from a caregiver. Parenting a stubborn child requires patience, calmness, empathy, and stability. A stubborn child needs respect. Lack of communication results in frustration, and lack of patience impacts communication. I had a conversation about mental health with a family member today and I realized that I have not experienced depression symptoms in a while (about a month) and I couldn’t even remember the last time I had suicidal thoughts(probably a month ago). All this to say how excited I am about this! I know a month is not that long but that’s huge progress for my mental health!! A long time ago, I started my fitness journey with kettlebells. They literally changed my life. I was out of shape. I was weak. I was soft. My kettlebell practice made me strong, lean, and healthy. As my fitness level improved, my training gravitated towards barbell training. I was focused on getting as strong as I possibly could. Religiously squatting & deadlifting... Heavy. I have loved every minute of it. But now As I get older (49 in a few months)..... As my body changes.... I find myself being drawn back to the excitement I had when I first started using kettlebells. I'm drawn back to the cardiovascular benefits that ballistic kettlebell training provides. I'm drawn back to the improved balance & coordination that it takes to perform athletic movement patterns.. I'm drawn back to being able to move my body better. En gros, le mouvement c’est: ✅15 entrepreneurs 🏃🏻‍♀️un défi physique en nature à relever à tous les mois en 2024 ➡️ Révolutionner l’entreprenariat par le dépassement de soi en nature 💲Collecter des dons pour la recherche en santé mentale (fondation Douglas) Ayant participé au défi Ultra de Bromont (160 km à relais) l’automne passé, j’ai pu constater tous les bienfaits que l’activité physique a eu sur ma santé mentale (et aussi physique bien sur!) et j’aimerais inspirer d’autres artistes et ce, peu importe le domaine, à faire de même. Mon objectif principal en m’inscrivant à Ambitieux de nature est de faire passer ma santé physique et mentale au premier plan et ce, sans culpabilité (ou presque!). Sur la photo, on me voit accompagnée de ma chienne Ruby qui (même si ça ne parait pas sur la photo 😅) a bien aimé relever ce premier défi avec moi. Ce n’était pas grand chose pour certain, mais ce 5km d’aujourd’hui était ma première sortie sportive depuis octobre dernier… un peu rouillée la fille 🙄 Je vous dis que chaque minute passée en nature m’a permis de me vider la tête et de m’éclaircir les idées 🧘🏻‍♀️. J’ai repris le travail tellement plus reposée cet après-midi et le petit hamster hyperactif dans ma tête d’entrepreneur était très calme lui aussi 😜. Vous voulez m’encourager? Ma prochaine sortie, sera la semaine prochaine pour un autre 5km mais de course en sentier cette fois 💪🏻. Mon objectif annuel est de 2000$ et j’aurais besoin de vos encouragements pour réussir à récolter cette somme🙂. This photo is intentionally blurred. What you are seeing is a miracle taking place. This is a pic of my son sitting outside, having a conversation with his nurse. He is diagnosed severely mentally ill. His nurse comes to our home to give him his medication. This has taken YEARS to get these services. The fact that he is sitting outside having a conversation with someone besides myself is truly a miracle! It doesn't last long and the que he gives is "Thank you for coming' which really means, "I'm done now" but his nurse has been doing this for years now and she knows! Being weak vs Being strong Both can be painful. One for the short-term. The other for all of your life. One will help you move forward. The other will hold you back. Gratitude. For me it's soul medicine. It's a foundational energy upon which I build my life on. Finding & also reminding myself of the things I'm grateful for has kept me sitting in the light for the past 20 years. Here's a little life Hack for ya: During the tough times, especially when you are empty & lost, take 5 min a day and write down what you are grateful for. Big and small, bring them into your mind, put them down on paper. Feel the energy that fills your heart & soul as you think and write them. Its guaranteed to shift your Debbie Downer mindset. I recently thought to myself it's OK to be dissatisfied with my life as long as I'm grateful to have one. It took me a few day to process it. (Actually I still am.) What I think this beautiful thought means is being dissatisfied means I want to grow and expand, but in order to grow I must be grateful for what I currently have. It's kind of a delicious mind f$%k if I do say so myself. But I like delicious 😋. It tastes better than suffering.

This is a picture of me showing a student how to do a movement. A good teacher/coach/leader shows you with both their words and their actions. If you are looking for somebody to teach you how to do something, they should have first hand experience on whatever that thing is. They should be able to teach you by showing you. It's the basis of my entire leadership philosophy. I know (First hand) what I am teaching And If I don't know I DO NOT TEACH IT! I am upfront and let my student know that I do not have first hand knowledge of that subject. Then I will take the time to research & practice it!! I see so many people teaching thru theory, they do it because of their ego. They think that they have to "know it all", They do not take the time to do it themselves. This type of mindset is dangerous, it's not professional and often times it takes people down a rocky road. The best coaches are knowledgeable, They are teachable, They know that humility is the key to being good at what they do. Don't be fooled.... Instead be observant. Ask them to show you exactly how they do or did it. If they can't..... find one that can!

I earned my first kettlebell certification in 2012. It came during a pivotal time in my life. I was just finding myself (again). I was a few months sober (again). I was beginning to rebuild my life (again). 1 year prior (after 9 year of sobriety) I choose to drink and use drugs (again). This certification will always mean the most to me. It gave me purpose during a time when I could not find any. It gave me a goal, It brought focus into the chaos. It gave me hope. It helped me build confidence. It gave me something to strive for. In a way it was giving me a new me. This little piece of paper became the beginning of my coaching career. There have been many certifications since this one. But this one was the one that showed me that I could do whatever I put my mind to. It was my beginning. Because of this paper I have coached hundreds of people. I have positively impacted many people of all different backgrounds. Ultimately this paper is where I found my passion. It crazy to think that it all started here. Beginnings are funny like that, you never know what they are going to lead to. Helping other people is my passion, I know what happens when people who are hopeless get a little taste of inspiration and of purpose. THEY START TO GROW. THEY START TO CHANGE. I never take what I do for granted. I treat it with love & respect. I know it is a profound gift for me and for the people I share it with.

We Train for results!!! Here's a little sample of today's 600 am class. The programming is centered around core & trunk stability and strength!! (It always is around here!) First vid is a sitting Landmine press, by removing the lower half of the body we are strictly relying on the core to get the barbell over head. 😀 If you've never tried, it is one of the most effective functional core movements you can do...... believe me it will show you parts of yourself you've never met. 😅 Second vid is a plank row hold, planks when done properly are a great way to teach total body engagement (tension) But it goes to another level when you only use 1 arm to support the body, by holding the weight in an row position it turns into a terrific anti-rotation exercise!! By terrific I mean terribly effective 🫠🫠! The third vid is of these Amazing ladies practicing a new movement for the very first time. The Tactical clean is an awesome full body exercise that hits damn near every major muscle group. Adding the hand Switch on top is a great way to work on eye-hand coordination, improve grip strength .... and work on disciplining the mind by practicing something new. Throw a carry in and you have a low impact way of build full body strength!! Last vid is a Bear crawl ladder, crawling is one of the best things you can do for a healthy body, it is truly good medicine for joint, ligaments and tendons. By transition to a run we are working on athleticism, balance and coordination during the level change. Here's the very best part: You don't have to know why it works, You don't have to make your own programming, WE DO ALL OF IT FOR YOU!! YOU JUST HAVE TO SHOW UP AND DO WORK WITH A BUNCH OF BADASS PEOPLE!!!

A tale of two men The man on the RIGHT is me at 27 years old. I was in the darkest time of my life. Totally addicted to meth. I was a daily user. I weighed 175 lbs, skinny and weak. I was bankrupt mentally, physically and spiritually. My mind was shattered, I only thought about getting drugs and getting high. The shame was a merciless master. My spirit was broken. I was on the brink of ending it all. BUT GOD REACHED INTO MY SOUL AND GAVE ME A BEAUTIFUL GIFT. THAT GIFT WAS AN OPPORTUNITY. I TOOK IT!!! For over 20 years the man on the LEFT has done the necessary work to live up to his end of that opportunity. I have suited up & shown up to every single challenge. I have not been perfect but I have been willing. I have made many mistakes.... I have learned from all of them. The craziest thing is that when I was given the gift, I did not think that it was a gift at all, I took it out of desperation. I had no idea that it was one of the biggest turning points in my life. The man on the right had no idea that the man on the left is who he would become. I'm grateful or both of these men. I love them both exactly the same. I could not be who I am today if I was not who I once was. I BELIEVE THAT WE ARE GIVEN OPPORTUNITIES TO CHANGE EVERY DAY. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AS LOW AS I WAS TO CHANGE (IF YOU ARE IT'S TIME!) You can change any part of yourself, You can create a new version of you, The Univesre wants you to grow and expand. It will give you everything you need but you need to take the action..... You need to do the work!! If you don't know how to do it... Find somebody who does! There are plenty of us out here who do!!!
