Happy Mother’s Day to all the AMAZING mamas working hard to care for their families! Today you deserve to be nothing but spoiled, but please remember, that you also deserve to do the same for yourself all year long! As moms, we tend to put our kids, husbands, and home, first… and put ourselves last. There's that mom guilt that's always lurking whenever we want to do something for ourselves causing us to believe that self-care is selfish and that we need to care only for our family. All of our time and energy are typically dedicated to our families. We love our families so of course, we think of it as a mother’s sacrifice, but I’m here to tell you that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish and you shouldn’t feel guilty for prioritizing yourself. Your health, both physical and mental, is important! It isn’t self-indulgence, it's self-preservation. It doesn’t mean “me first” it means “me too”. Taking care of yourself is the most powerful way to begin to take care of others. It's giving the world the best of you, instead of what’s left of you. We owe ourselves the love that we freely and so generously give to others. When you practice self-care, you are telling yourself and others that: You deserve to be treated well. You deserve to be loved and respected. You deserve to be happy. You deserve to have your needs met. You are worth investing time, money, and energy into. You are capable of great things. You are important. What you want matters. So, as you celebrate YOU today, don’t forget to take the time to prioritize yourself all year long! It’s essential to practice daily self-care. Yes, I said, DAILY. It’s a way of telling yourself that you are valuable and worthy of care, love, and respect. It’s time that you make yourself a priority.
