Summer 2018, our lives changed forever in an instant. I am eternally grateful that my son survived his accident & only suffered a spinal cord injury. His diving accident was not alcohol related, but the beach in which he dove from is known as party beach. In my younger days, I had enjoyed drinking on that very same beach with friends. It’s been a fun gathering spot for so many over the years. But it’s not the beach that hurts us, it’s the choices we make that does. In the LCV, we witness wayyyyy too many people losing their lives over the choices they make while intoxicated each summer. I am guilty of thinking I was okay to drive before when I most likely was not. I KNOW I’m not alone. I am not posting this to blame or shame anyone, I believe that we are individually responsible for our own choices & the consequences of those decisions, good & bad. What I am saying, with my whole heart is to make good choices before you start to drink. Have a DD. Call a cab, a friend, a sibling or a parent…but do not drive drunk. Sunday Dinner. So many people will be sitting down to chicken in the perhaps mistaken belief it’s a healthy option. Unfortunately, with intensive farming, most farmed chickens have been selectively bred for rapid growth meaning around 220% more fat than they would have in the 70’s. Chicken now has more calories from fat than from protein. Add to that the current antiobiotic resistance crisis in poultry farming and chicken really isn’t the health food marketing would have you believe. Chicken substitutes aren’t perfect either, they are processed and packaged and I’m not going to argue they’re a health food, but, for an occasional sub - they’re fine and significantly lower in harmful saturated fats. This was a simple soy, lime, ginger, garlic and agave sticky baked chick*n with ‘green’ rice and loads of broccoli and scallions. Traveling doesn't mean you can't eat healthy and stay on track with your goals!✈ I am at my work convention and chose to stay at a hotel with a small kitchenette. Progress happens through process. It's unrealistic to think that we can reach a goal without making any sort of plan on how to get there. Good morning family! Sometimes, we do everything possible and still need more clarity. As we wait patiently to hear from the Lord, we can tune our hearts to His Spirit and seek confirmation. I have often experienced reassurance in the form of little signs that don’t mean much to other people but are very meaningful to me. These confirmations remind me that the Lord sees me and wants me to take the next step. There are other times when I never receive confirmation. Sometimes, God may want us to move forward in faith without much reassurance from Him or others. Psalm 16:6 says, the boundary lines have fallen for us in pleasant places. The boundaries of sin are often obvious. But when the options are neutral or good choices, we can experience fear of making the wrong decision. Rest assured, we are not alone. The Lord will show us the way to walk through abiding in Him, the counsel of others, or tapping into our faith reserves. Finally I have fulfilled my lifelong dream! 🥹 Despite life’s challenges, my passion for art never wavered. I married young, but in 2015, I found the courage to pursue my dreams. Learning under a teacher from NCA, I created my first painting in 2016. I paint souls, capturing emotions through portraits. Additionally, I became a spiritual healer, Reiki master, and happiness coach. Today, I’m thrilled and honored to be invited by NCA to lecture their students. What I ate today. Breakfast was an Isagenix protein shake in my cold brew Lunch was a Cesar salad with chicken Dinner was baby cucumbers, snap peas with hummus and a cheddar cheese square. Of course I’ve also had copious amounts of water and my electrolytes Day 2 of of 5mg, the Mounjaro is definitely mounjaroing. I have zero appetite, and am having to force myself to eat. I’ve had no hangover with 5mg like I did with 2.5, and I don’t feel nearly as tired. Had craaaazy dreams last night that I didn’t like at all. I woke up in fear more than once. I have a bit of a tummy ache today. But it started after my dumb ass took my magnesium, b-12 and desiccated cow thyroid on an empty stomach.
